This match already feels must-win. Lose and we're at a minimum 2nd last (possibly last) and all the positive start around the pre-season has evaporated.

I'm hoping there's some changes for the match and we go back to the formation with one holding mid.

Seems the game is being held at the stadium despite the hoo-ha that went on a few weeks ago about unpaid bills/commitments.

I don't think we should drop the double pivot, it's the two CAMs that need to be sorted IMO. Milligan can pick Badalato OR Burgess, he can't carry both if we want to control the midfield. Badalato and Burgess were in each other's space all game and then neither were tracking the right man in defence, leaving an already soft backline exposed to an extra attacker each time.

Play your striker as a striker, then shuffle around the wingers with whomever you want on the pitch. A lazy winger is much easier to manage than a lazy CAM.

Also, after 45 mins, if Burgess is having an off day, hook him early instead of wasting a body on the pitch doing nothing. He's great when he's in form, but he never recovers once he's having a bad game, so do him a favour and sub him out early.

Didn't hear anything about that, I thought it was nitro circus on the 8th, causing concern the ground wouldn't be ready

Upon reflection you bring up a valid point and I agree that if we are to keep the two holding midfielders then the attacking structure needs to be reviewed. There was no central figure for the attack and player up top. His change for more defensive security blunted his team's attacking ability.

I had just assumed Milligan would change back to what he had before...hadn't considered your point.

If we dont change tactics and Perth press us in numbers, I sadly can't see us getting a result

Well no surprises there. Caught 3 on 2 at the back.

We seem to over hit passes quite a lot, resulting in the recipient not controlling the ball and losing it. What we are trying in attack looks good, but too often lack of control let's us down

Plan A not working.
Plan B doesn't exist.

Hard to watch how defensively unaware the Jets are.

Dobson passes have been brilliant.

Rose has worked hard, pressed well and he’s been so close to scoring, just missing the final piece of the puzzle or bounce of ball.

How the f#$% is that are considered to be in an unnatural position? Running backwards and trying to jump results in your arms in the air. Try it at home! Sh1th0use decision.

However, we are still crap at the back

The individual skill level of this team is poor. They are not good enough to play the type of football they are trying to play. The stats will probably look poor on their passing accuracy anyway but its the amount of simple passes they just either miss or can not control is way below standard.

How that is handball is absolutely beyond me farken

But ****s sake why are they so happy to just accept it. Right or wrong they should have been blowing up at the ref but the bunch of soft cocks may as well have placed the ball on the penalty spot and laid out the red carpet

Have a go farken

Last. Looking at things now, the win over Victory was nearly a win over 10th.

Things need to change immediately or all the good will earned will again disappear

I've never been a Milligan fanboi, but let's try to put some positive glasses on and view the game.

Playing Cooper was the right choice as Shaun the Sheep has pretty quickly proven he's either not fit or not up to the standard required. Let him work towards a starting gig but stick with Cooper for a few weeks to let him make some mistakes and improve. The trap they made for him on their goal was very simple to see from where I was, so hopefully it's something he can learn to see better pretty easily.

Susjnar is an absolute twat and needs to be reigned in severely if we want the kids around him to learn how to be aggressive the smart way, but he's not the cause of our defensive woes on his own. He and Natta should be fighting for that LCB role and at some point Mark needs to see how Cooper and Natta go in the A league.

I like the double pivot if we are going to play out from the back, just push Bayliss into a Box-to-Box role and let him maraud around being a pest BUT if he wants to keep a single pivot like many others prefer, he simply can't carry both Badalato and Burgess, both are passengers defensively and keep getting in each other's way in attack. Either shunt one out wide or play one and suh the other in at 60 mins each week.

At some point, when Rose is on the pitch, knock a few balls into the corners and try to press the opposition up the pitch, our press is actually pretty good but he's too scared to do it further up the pitch. 10 mins playing out from the back and then boom, knock it long and block the pass back to the keeper. Keep them on their toes.

We all wanted a side full of kids instead of recycled and overpaid 30 year olds like we were used to for years, so I'll take some pain if it means we get more Taylors and Dobson's. Just don't fail them by being too scared to try new things and then every now and again just keep it simple.

Also, screw that coward of a ref who didn't ref anything in the first half and then did the opposite in the second. Completely reffed them to 3 points when a draw was probably what the gene deserved. Drop him to NPL and he can take Delianov with him.

ForeverRed
23-11-2025, 09:16 PM
Play the locals they cried, well guess what, the locals aren?t good enough, we gave the ball away 1000 times because we were useless, the worst game I?ve seen in many years, and don?t start me on the penalty, never was a pen but who ****en gave it to the ref, who blew up, ****ing no one, that starting team was rubbish, the right back wouldn?t get a game in the NPL, the bloke who scored was terrible, we better have some spare cash for January, will we here from the owners, will we hear from the ceo, probably not, If Milligan says they are being brave I?ll throw my membership in his face, rant over, not happy jan

StannyCFCJET

The young players have talent and have shown that. The system is just exposing us at the moment and needs adjusting or changing. As Frodo said need a double pivot or maybe have the fullbacks sit deeper and play direct during parts of games to force teams back.

This play out of the back at all costs is killing football and needs to be eradicated

Seconded. Six goals we've now conceded from turnovers across the backline that is played between RB and RCB and end up in a goal
