So....a home team that wears gold is playing a team that is usually sky blue. No colour clash at all. But the home team will wear a blue third strip (only for marketing purposes and despite most of the fans now back in gold) and the away team will probably wear a white strip if they have one, or their own third strip.

Words fail me.

But think of the money we will make from the Sydney FC kit

For maximum impact should have worn the third kit next home game v Smurfs. Their fans would be keen to buy.

Desperately need to get back to a world where clubs have a “main” kit. Then design the “alternate” kit for those you clash against - eg as gold is pretty light, we’d probably go with a darker jersey. Let clubs have fun with a third kit if they want. But I think teams should always wear their “main” kit even for away games.

I get its money. But it’s so stupid.

I think we should take the concept to it's logical absurdity. 4 new kits each and every game. 1st kit worn in the first half, 2nd kit in the second half. In the event of drinks breaks, the 1st kit is swapped for the third at the time drinks are taken, and the same happens for the 2nd and 4th in the second half. Obviously, during finals there will need to be an additional 4 new kits to cover extra time and shootouts.

Actually, penalties opens up a whole new area...think of the marketing and engagement opportunities if you could vote on the shirt the player will wear to take the penalty...

Anybody got infantino's number? This could get me a peace prize.

Newcastle Jets club colours.....gold, navy, white, red, royal blue, emerald, cinnamon, grey, brown, black, sky blue. What have I missed?

A wonder we haven't done the Knights "tradie" strip yet.

CEO needs to go, no better than Shitshow. If anyone shows up to the ground in that shirt, they should be denied entry or shot on sight

That's all down to Constantine changing the strip in the early days. If he had left the original colours, we would have a better identity. Neutrals outside this forum identify the Jets as Blue and Red

Anyone who knows about the Jets in Newcastle always mentions the gold from what I see

You know what else Con did?

Yeah, signed Griff and won.

y'all keep bitching about shirt colours while Craig Deans remains rotting away training JDL kids.

Even the commentators have dumped that David Keating bloke as his stats crush.

Now old ben is swooning over some andrew bloke. Prob a gypo too just to rub it in.

How many goals have we conceded this year from a f#c$ed up pass out from the back?

Today's temperature was predicted days ago, plenty of time to move the game. I wonder how hot it has to be before a game is moved? Player welfare must be preferred over television.

Shitshow Shane started this arvo games for the kiddies bullshit. It's to save money on the lights, fuk the players and fans. No team wants arvo games. New CEO is rubbish

The club wanted "family friendly" times at 5pm in particular. It is what it is, though it was noticeable how few "families" actually turned up yesterday. At kickoff there was one sole family on the northern hill.

Adelaide have got it right.

I think it's time for a starting lineup change.

Bertoncello needs to be replaced. As soon as Adams came on we looked far more progressive and dangerous down that side - it was only the left before that. Either Taylor or Adams should come in for me with Dobson retaining his spot and swapping sides.

Bertolissio, while solid, should be replaced by Aquilina. I don't know why he's been dropped but I think Aquilina again offers more for us.

Finally, I'm dropping Burgess for Bayliss. I feel Burgess is getting in the way at times (he's got to touch EVERY second pass), diminishes Badolato's impact and is over-playing things.

Oh and Delianov...

I said similar last week about our right side. Now that Adams and Taylor are healthy we for sure need to remove Bertoncello, and Bertolissio getting a start over Aquilina is very puzzling and needs to be changed.

I still don't think we've sorted out our centreback situation either. I'd like to see Cooper stay in the starting line and see how he pairs with Shaughnessy.

I think Cooper has made a lot of poor turnover passes, but if we want to keep persisting with him hoping he'll work through that phase given time, I'm OK with that.
I've liked Natta being back in general, he did have a couple of stinker turnovers but everyone in our backline has had that happen this year.

We look so so vulnerable when the turnovers happen though, there was a 5 or 6 on 2 or 1.5 against City on the weekend, and there seems to be multiple 3v2 or worse chances we concede each week.
I think we need to explore having another body back during possession buildup - whether that's going to 3 at the back which would allow Susjnar/Shaugnessy to come back in alongside the two young blokes and bring a bit more steel and organisation, OR stay with the current formation but have Grozos drop in between the back 2 similar to a Man City possession setup to create a back 3 only during possession.

We can hope that errors will be reduced and minimised but they won't be cut out altogether, but we have to change something so that when the mistake does happen we are not handing such high value chances over.

I also prefer Aquilina to Bertolissio, thought he was our best player last year.
I haven't seen enough from Bertoncello yet to rate him highly, maybe he kills it at training but he hasn't brought it on game day yet for me. Seemed OK during the cup run but that was largely against a lower level of opposition.

We need to stop playing out from the back, or replace the whole backline. I'm convinced that if we played long balls out of from the back, we would be in the top 6

Easy. Sack Milligan. He is another Pep disciple with the play out from the back at all costs mentality. He will never change it IMO (Happy to be proven wrong). We should be looking at managers who are pragmatic and develop a style to suit the cattle at hand.
