I've recently put Cooks Hill United through the National Club Accreditation Process with the FFA, achieving the first step up the ladder with Level 1 Accreditation

I'd recommend doing it to other clubs as it does provide documentation that you're doing things properly
Gary Fisher has been very helpful and supportive throughout the process and I'd recommend getting in contact with him to kick the whole thing off
I'm happy to take questions in this thread and offer support to any other club keen on achieving accreditation

This is something I think our Club would be interested to pursue. Could you please elaborate as to what the process involves.

the whole thing is explained by the FFA here (http://www.myfootballclub.com.au/index.php?id=52) but essentially it just involves filling out this form (http://www.myfootballclub.com.au/fileadmin/user_upload/Nat_Club_Accred_Scheme_Files/Application_form_Level1.pdf)
you need to provide documentation to back up a few things on the form, such as your club's constitution and a few other things like descriptions of the roles of committee members
I did this in our application by putting it all in a report, with a section for each Theme on the form, in each form/section I basically just wrote a few paragraphs explaining how we met the criteria - all up these sections were a total of six pages

so really the effort in doing all this is just chasing up things like your constitution, incorporation certificate and the coaching qualifications of coaches - I put all this information in the appendices, which totalled about 90 pages and was probably overkill
you then submit it to NNSW who approve it and pass it on to the FFA for accreditation
but yeah Gary Fisher is very helpful and was very supportive of our application - i recommend giving him a call and talking through the process
q: what do clubs achieve from gaining this? i see you said it's an accreditation to say you're doing things the right way, but does that benefit a club (or cooks hill) in any way? after a quick skim, one of those links you posted said it helps out with sponsorship - will there be that many local businesses who aren't already sponsoring a club that you think would if they saw you had this accreditation?
not trying to be derogatory at all, just wondering what the benefits in your eyes were, and judging the effort:benefit ratio of this process.
who/which clubs in nnsw have this already - is that info on the link and i haven't bothered to find it?

it's a fair question and there aren't really any direct monetary or tangible benefits from being accredited, it's more about documenting that things are being done well and improving standards within your club
how I see this benefiting Cooks Hill United:
* documenting processes that we already did
* protection for committee members in case of legal issue involving club
* standing within NNSWFF (we're the largest club out of the 14 to be accredited)
* using the fact we're accredited in discussions for grants and sponsors
* continual improvement of club, including improving coaching standards

If any club hasn’t yet got their accreditation I would encourage you to do so.
