Sort of PV4, the colours are right but the tribal stuff is wrong.

This was leaked, a-la the stuff up at the sports store in Brisbane that release Man City's new jersey before the official date (see the Metro newpaper website).

To be honest, not a fan of any of them this year.

The red one is growing on me, but the 2nd kit looks like a wetsuit and the third one looks like a kit you make on a fantasy team game where you can't be a$$ed.

boz-monaut
27-06-2012, 03:38 PM
I know Liverpool got 25 million squid for going with some new shitfull company to make their butt ugly kit but I think it'll damage their appeal more than taking the 10 million less and going with a quality brand like Adidas

it looks as poor quality as the Jets shitfull ICS rubbish kit, which I will not buy as it's ugly and embarrassing

pv4
27-06-2012, 03:38 PM
does the purple/grey/orange have any meaning/history behind it?

second kit looks like such a wetsuit, good spotting!

Jeterpool
27-06-2012, 04:35 PM
No mate. No history. Not likely to go down in history either. I'd rather the blue one from last year over this one!

Warrior, who now supply the kits, are an American lacrosse kit supplier. This is their first major gig. To be fair, the feedback I have read is the quality is good - better to wear than the Adidas gear, which I thought was ok.

Borini signed. Maxi leaves which is disappointing. From April 2011 the guy was scoring goals at a rate of 1 every 103 minutes. RvP was going at 111 mins last season. Very under utilised player.

I didn't think they were all that impressive in that game

sure they held possession quite well but it was against a team that's not setting the MLS on fire

played a lot of long diagonal balls to the wing which were actually pretty nice and made to look a lot easier than they are

Laugh all you like. I'm not going to jump on the sack Rodgers bandwagon. I think they will come good. May be biased but that's what I think. Let the new signings gel, let the new style get embedded and Liverpool will do well.

I think they have played well against the other teams tbh. A bit of luck is always needed in those fixtures and it has gone against them on every occasion. Should balance out by the end of the season. I am loving the young players finally being given a shot. They have been showing potential for some time and hopefully they will be able to hang onto them all. The concern is some of the elementary mistakes that Reina is making. He is far from his best at the moment and needs to pick it up if they want to make a run at Europe later in the season.

From the interwebs:

Alessandro Del Piero admits the Heysel tragedy played a part in his decision to reject a move to Liverpool in the summer.

The Reds made a late bid to sign the former Juventus star, following his departure from the Old Lady at the end of last season.

Del Piero, 37, opted for a move to Australian side Sydney FC instead and has told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport that he’s not disappointed by his choice.

"Why I said no to Liverpool? Negotiations with Sydney were already advanced and then I thought about what had happened at Heysel," Del Piero said.

"Juve and Liverpool were able to rebuild the relationship, but for many people that tragedy is an indelible memory. I thank all the clubs which wanted me, but I'm convinced of my choice."

He also claims Chang threatened him to come out and say there wasn't a mole he had inside liverpool, after trying to get this twitter guy to reveal who his mole inside was (he said he didn't have one).

Liverpool have apparently spent a lot of money trying to audit phones, internet, etc of employees to weed the mole out.

This is all claims, hence why I'm not stating a fact. Chang has said, however, he did meet a twitter user for a meeting

Interesting game this morning. A few points I noted:

* Suso and Wisdom showed they are still young. Miralles was skinning Wisdom consistently until he was hurt/injured. Suso went missing hence his substitution.

* Still work to do in attacking third.

* Everton were clearly the better team first half and even though they were 2-0 up, I felt Liverpool were not the better team at that stage. The first goal was no surprise.

* BR has a plan B. His change in formation was a good one and nullified the Everton attack when compared to first half.

* Shelvey played well and added more grunt to the midfield which was non-existent in the first half. Allen copped a beating all game, but geez he's brave and kept going abck for more.

* Both teams were lucky to finish with 11 men - Liverpool more so.

* Everton will be more disappointed than Liverpool.

* Suarez infuriates with his childish tackles and nips/fouls.

* Unlucky to not get the third but clearly a wrong decision both manager admitted. Should have been 3 before that.

* Enrique still rusty but played well (2nd goal excepted)

* Moyes has a sense of humour. Glad he can see the funny side of teh goal celebration.

Still Liverpool gave away a 2 goal lead. Reina back in goal next week for sure.

Nice bit of class form Moyes to say he enjoyed Suarez's celebration and to admit it was a goal. I can imagine the kick up the arse Neville got at half time after his pathetic dive. I'm sure the irony wasn't lost on Moyes that it was his player who got booked for diving after his pot stirring

Replay makes it look worse. And that angle makes it look so so much worse.

Mansfield coach has come out in the papers saying he doesn't blame Suarez, that if a player on his team did that to win the game, he wouldn't be taking blame etc. Lumped majority of the blame on the referees. Kind of looks like he is trying to pull his arm down (look at where his arms are flailing when he runs). Mansfield coach was more amazed the officials gave the goal despite, so many players protesting and Suarez doing the whole "f*** I handballed it" frustration kick.

Handball, but every striker would've done the same.

Yeah he was filthy on himself. Poor bugger. If only he had 10 teammates who had a fraction of his talent and passion to help him out.
and Carragher, jesus, that bloke has almost got me into a thousand punchups. He is the worst player ever, has been for years. Add to that he screams his lungs out at the slightest mistake by a teammate yet he effectively costs us the tie this morning and its all ok.
Bloke should have been punted long ago, but this whole "kissing the badge" bullshit gets blokes spots in the team whether they are good enough or not.
Fergie would have punted the bloke 5 years ago (probably earlier) but for some reason hes getting starts.
Utter shite. Sentimentality dont get you three points.

biting is outrageously bad. technically can't ivanovic get infected with any potential diseases suarez could have (hiv/aids, etc) if he broke the skin?

i love how suarez tries to appeal for something after he hits the deck.

last time suarez bit someone on-field he got 7 weeks suspension. surely something as outrageous as this, coupled with the fact it is a repeat offence, should see him suspended for much much much longer? i know it's a big call, but i wouldn't be happy with him getting anything less than a season suspension tbh.

it's like suarez is legit looking for ways to convince liverpool to sack him some days.

just did a quick google on "luis suarez controversial moments". since arriving in england:

- got rodwell sent off for a dive where he wasn't touched.
- found guilty of racism
- offensive gesture towards fulham fans
- refuse to shake evra's hand
- dove in front of moyes for a celebration as an in-your-face for moyes saying he was a diver
- handball against mansfield
- punched a dude on-field while playing for uruguay (admittedly not playing for liverpool)
- decided to taste flesh, again

tbh it looks "pretty well behaved" when compared to the record of joey barton, robbie savage & mario balotelli. apart from that, no person should be able to keep a straight face when saying he's been well behaved since signing for liverpool.

liverpool can't stand by him for this, they have to sack him

Zico

Yes, he's the only player to have ever taken a dive?

Not for a second am I condoning that but a bit of perspective please. Let's not mention the serious fouls on Suarez that have gone unpunished, e.g. Huth's stamp on his chest.

- found guilty of racism

Garbage hearing with a pre-determined outcome, bloke was innocent and crucified because he's a foreigner and has a bad rep. If it had gone to court ala Terry it would have been laughed out of there for no evidence.

- offensive gesture towards fulham fans

Fair call

- refuse to shake evra's hand

I wouldn't have either after the crap that Evra pulled. Hardly warrants a suspension or contributes to a 'bad record' for one geez

- dove in front of moyes for a celebration as an in-your-face for moyes saying he was a diver

And? Loved that personally, as did Moyes. Shades of Fowler. Brilliant.

- handball against mansfield

Whoopdedoo, a hand ball. Stretching things a bit aren't you

- punched a dude on-field while playing for uruguay (admittedly not playing for liverpool)

Not relevant.

- decided to taste flesh, again

So back to start again

liverpool can't stand by him for this, they have to sack him

I can't even find the words to describe how mind-numbingly stupid he is for doing it. I would hope Pool give him one last chance because if he doesn't it such a waste of amazing football talent. I just love watching him play, he's a skillful little bastard with the right mentality of never giving up. Then again, I thought he was past the biting level of dickheadery so maybe he's just one of those guys who will never reform

he is easily worse than all of those guys.

he and liverpool deserve each other.

tbh he fits in better with the likes of cantona, keane, neville etc than anyone at liverpool

sh10 in fairness I wasn't the one stretching for those examples - as I said they were from a google search. the fact that he has that kind of list, and needs defending for each one, shows that he's not exactly keeping a low profile.

he is a liability for Liverpool. he has repeated an offense that saw him suspended for 7 weeks in the past. he is a proven cxxx on the field who needs to go

Pffffft, the usual phony outrage.
I love the 'The club HAS to sell him' line.
Why?
Terry, Ferdinand, Cantona, Defoe all pulled some pretty weak ass shit in their time and their clubs all stood by them.
Why should Suarez be any different?

Jeez, speaking of embarrassing the good name of Liverpool FC, have you seen Jamie Carragher defend?

Get over yo'selves.

Alas, forgot to update my post with Ashley Cole shooting a kid with an air rifle at training.

But please don't let me interrupt the public lynching of 'old bitey'.

Anyone got a stream to watch for when the residents of Mt Pius set him alight?

there's a difference between standing by a player when he does something stupid or controversial and standing by a player that does it on a regular basis and seemingly doesn't really gaf about his or the club's image and reputation.

ok so Defoe gets nothing for his chomp in 2006 and Suarez gets 10?
About as even handed as Terry getting four games for racism and Suarez getting 8.

wd to the FA for consistency.

To be fair though there was never a 'fair' punishment in this case.
They obvs looked at the first offence which he got 7 for then upped it for 2nd strike.

I just can't stand the likes of Souness etc coming out crapping on about 'that's not the Liverpool way' etc etc.

Anyone ever watched any football from his era? Biggest set of grubs ever. Glass houses and all that.

FA (and everyone else) needs to look at it for what it was. A dude bit someone. He got suspended.
Move on.

To be perfectly honest Football authorities are pretty blaze about punishing violent offences point blank.

To me 10 weeks is pretty lenient considering the circumstances and the also sideline event is that some of this suspension will be served in the off season makes it a bit of a farce

The biting didn't even follow any type of fight/scuffle event before hand. All that happened was Ivanovic and Suarez tussled for the ball as happens between centr half and striker 1000 times a season. Suarez for some reason then launched into Ivanovic and bit him on the arm. Most natural actions in this case would be a punch headbutt etc but the bite is well out of left field. Considering it is also the second incident of biting from Suarez I am surprised a more sterner sanction wasn't called for.

The last bloke who got a pretty severe sanction for OTT reaction/violence was Cantona for the infamous kungfu kick on a spectator. He got 9 months. I am surprised Suarez didn't get something heftier and rivalling the Cantona ban

if he dove in broke ivanovics leg, he would have been given a smaller ban than the 10 he got

apparently, the taboo of biting is greater than actual physical harm

Umm If I remember right the incident involving High Five Danny that the FFAs sanction was also put through into FIFA /AFC fixtures hence why you sing that song Danny's Not going to Beijing to him as the FFA were happy to let him go to Beijing inspite of his ban.

This being the case wouldn't the FA ban also apply to any fixtures Suarez would be eligible for Uruagay for ??

Liverpool Tour could be in threat due to their Fair Play this season.

Liverpool are in the running to get into the Europa League through the Fair Play path. If this happens, the first and second leg of qualification are 18th and 25th July respectively.

What will happen?? Maybe we'll get to see the likes of Ngoo, Ibe, Spearing, McLaughlin and Gulasci gracing our shores instead of Suarez, Coutinho, Gerrard, Johnson and Reina!

If this happens, expect a bit of a revolt. I'd be very disappointed if this happened and would wonder how I would go getting refunds for flights, etc!

I booked accomodation through booking.com so can cancel that no problem. Flights - well i'd have to ask for a credit which would be the best I could hope for!

Brendan needs to send Skrtel and Jonjo out to get a few more yellows and reds in the next 4 games
