Ok all,
I have recreated the subforums and shit, with a couple of minor differences.

Do people want to group Socceroos with Azian footie? Was thinking maybe grouping just Newy stuff together and have rest of A-League and Roos in an Aussie subforum.
Although every other foz seems to group it that way, so maybe we keep ours as is? Thoughts?

Please be patient while we tweak shit over the next few weeks.

I also have only put the c-word on the swear filter thus far but if things get too out of hand, we may have to put the rest of it back on. So please keep a lid on things, younger supporters do read this site as well.

I think we should probably go back to the registration method with the local forum once the regulars are back on

give it another week or so - though that may still mean we have to approve everyone unless we can work out a way to set everyone who's registered to that date as auto-approved

furns
27-06-2012, 02:37 PM
they way we had it we had do enable everyone individually, unfortunately there is no other way to do it.

keep jets and aleague together. the amount of stuff that overlaps & stuff, just easier to have it in one spot.

the majority of the socceroos play in asia so i say keep them together also.

make the local foz scores-only. at the end of the day that's all people are extremely interested in, the rest is just rumour-spreading and people venting about issues - let them do that the old-fashioned way.

- Keep Jets and A-League together, I think our system works much, much better than the other forums. Like pv4 said, the amount of overlap is ridiculous, plus you'd probably kill a lot of discussion of anything not related to the Jets (and also some Jets discussion)

- Get Youth League and W-League sub-fora up at some point.

- Set the default number of posts per page to 20 again (I know you can change this yourself, but it makes more sense this way).

- Mobile version is actually pretty good, well done computer nerds

Please

edit: oh and bring back the emoticons plz, including one of Griff, thanks

While we're on the subject of forum reform (see daily news thread), any chance of getting the swear filter reinstated? Not claiming to be snow white in this regard, but the entire forum is starting to become NSFW (especially posts from certain people).

Additionally, won't somebody think of the children?

As we have moved to a new server, a few parsing errors are coming up and in some instances posting results in a double post.
We are aware of this and we are working to get it rectified. This happens when you switch servers, the server software can clash with the forum software.

If any other errors crop up please post them here so we can get them fixed also.

I'm having errors appear at the top of the page both on the PC and the iphone. This post is actually posting with right amrgin alignment, not left.

Errors say:

This appears to be an issue. Whenever I hit Post, I get an error saying I can't post more than once every 30 seconds... so it is somehow trying to post everything twice. Maybe as Overlord boz, you can post as often as you like hence this double post?

Can load up forum on my phone but any thread spits out an error, doesn't load.

Everything loads fine in Chrome but all have errors at the top.

I've found when on my phone (Galaxy S4) it'll come up with the "We're moving" page when I first try to go to the site, but if I hit refresh once it works.

I don't know if this is luck, or something is actually behind it, but I've recreated the scenario several times.

EDIT: Note - this is for newcastlefootball.net & newcastlefootball.net/home pages

sorry guys, issue was the domain still had the old server addresses listed as well as the new ones this is why it would sometimes work and sometimes wouldnt.
Crooky was finding it difficult to remove them so he emailed the domain registry to remove them for him. Hopefully this means that they have been removed and we shouldnt have any further issues.
