From WSW forums...

A-League 2012/13 Round 20
Western Sydney Wanderers v Newcastle Jets
Saturday 9 Feb 2013 7.45pm, Campbelltown Sports Stadium
Community Round fixture

FYI, your membership will not get you entry into this game, you will have to purchase tickets, because this is not a home game, nor an away game, it’s a neutral game as part of FFA’s community round/games.

There hasn’t been any news from FFA or the club about this game, when tickets go on sale etc, and the game is only 1 month away.

Map here http://maps.google.c...tadium&t=m&z=16
Stadium info here http://www.campbellt....gov.au/Stadium
Stadium seating plan here http://www.campbellt...diumseatingplan

If you are train-ing it in, Leumeah railway station (the stop before Campbelltown station) is right next to the ground.

If you are driving from the Sydney direction on the M5 take the first Campbelltown exit onto Campbelltown Rd to Leumeah.
Not sure about parking, there is limited parking at the car park next to the stadium and there is the Leumeah railway station car park but both would fill up pretty quickly, not sure where else you can park in the area.

It will be interesting to see what the pitch is like, the last W-League game I went to in December the pitch was a bit patchy and dry after some hot weather, but it was noticeably better the week before that. I wonder if they will re-turf it before the game.

Anyone coming down?

If I can get it off work then yes. Would prefer to stay the night however, as heading back to Newcastle from campbelltown on a saturday night would be absolute shit.

what's the easiest method of public transport from newy to get there, and how long does it take? is it a train to ______ and a connecting train to ________?

Train to Leumeah station at a guess, as per the WSW forums quote?

Newcastle 3:24, change at Strathfield.
Strathfield 6:06, arrive Leumeah 7:06

MFKS
04-01-2013, 12:15 PM
I would imagine train to Strathfield and then to Leumeah on the South Line

Noticed on the map that there is a tennis club near the stadium. Perhaps it could be the tenzo away. Shall I make a call and see if they are open? and have facilities.

Have spoken to the tennis club.

It is part of the main Wests club down there.

They are more than happy to feed us and drink us in the tennis club.

There will be a Chinese Bistro open from 5:30, bar open all day, doesn't close till midnight.

I have said there will be up to 50 Jets fans coming from about 3pm onwards.

Also said I would call back a week before the game to confirm.

The Tenzo away from the Tenzo.

Keen for a swimming pool as I bet it will be extremely hot out there that afternoon.

Out of curiosity why are WSW fans able to buy tickets for this and we ain't??

It ain't their HOME game but a regional "COMMUNITY" round. So why ain't tickets available to all the community??

Another FFA Rort to go with giving their team a defacto home game.

****ING DISGRACE that 11 days from the game and I can't buy tickets yet a WSW fan can.

FFA DISGRACE

Just use the wsw12 code.
Threw nowhere on the site that ask you to prove ours a WSW member.

If asked the club (via Facebook) why this has occurred.
The crickets are deafening.

but will be if jets memebers dont get the same too.
only folk who shouldnt get the "discount" are folk who are not members of either club.

When i tried earlier on, it wouldn't give me the option of choosing "Newcastle Jets Fans" bays (obviously)....so it ramdomly gave me bay 20 or something like that (For category B tickets)...so if u got bay 9, happy days, anyway Wednesday i'll get tix. On the point of the "regional game": Regional game my arse, right in their heartland territory, they may as well have classified it as a home game for them.

in fairness we had our regional game v heart at port Mac which has a large jets fans base as is plus the people who develop as footballers from that region usually move down to newy to play state league. so port mac, our regional game, was in our region too. I'm not phased by it being at campbelltown tbh.

we don't want it objective, neutral or anything like that. the zine is written by the fans - if we want it to be the same AAP-esque neutral dribble, we'd be writing for the herald. make it as bias/opinionated as you want!
