good game tonight, pretty awesome defence from the stormers there, solid as a rock for 70 odd minutes. thankfully habana had a brain snap with 5 minutes to go and let folau in. :)

Don Argus, AC - Former Chairman of BHP Billiton (1999-2010), National Australia Bank (1990-1999) and Brambles Limited (1999-2008)
Leigh Clifford, AO - Former CEO of the Rio Tinto Group (2000-2007) and current Chairman of Qantas Airways Limited (2007-)

Seems old Dave didnt really rage against the machine while ever it was funding his ruggers development.

I don't know about you, but as a teenager I didn't really have a full recognition of my place in the world, or a bigger picture view of the issues that shape it. Maybe Dave has educated himself on the issues that are important to him in his adult years, and is doing something he believes in now.

Yeah he looks like he changed his perspective just as he realised he'd maxed out his earning potential from the dark side.

back 2 da game - kieran read missing 2 tackles on the line and dan carter falling off one...don't see that happen very much

will be very surprised if it happens again on the weekend. pretty crazy that the australian tight 5 isn't a floating joke anymore, but the backs are shaky as, opposite world. strayan scrum was very good - i read cheika brought in the argentinian scrum coach - good pickup there

surely toomua will start on saturday with white, phipps and foley were trash

belchardo
10-08-2015, 12:04 PM
think Phipps and foley will start again. white runs well at tired legs, toomua could start, but big risk given how often he gets knocked out!

scrum was very good. that first one obviously caught the NZ pack by surprise.

we've stirred up NZ now, so next week could be interesting.

They leave early, call for the coaches head, label the players a disgrace, never give the opposition any credit and think the world is about to end.

Wallabies avoid the tough side of the draw and if they make the final will, more then likely, have beaten the British Isles on the way there.

Unfortunately, I believe Ireland hasn't really been given the credit they deserve and are my pick to make the final. Obviously, this will depend on O'Connel and Sexton being fit.

Should be two fantastic matches up the top of the draw.

australia need pocock back desperately, hooper - while good - is clearly nowhere near the beast in the breakdown that pocock is. lets off so much pressure when he is in the mix.

losing scott sio isn't good coming up against argentina, however ireland managed to tame the scrum a bit in the second half. will be a ripper game

defence was back on last night like It was against the welsh

q called it pocock is by far the most important player in our squad, fardy was ****ing immense as well.

folau was shit house, I wouldn't go as far to say that we should drop him

didn't quite understand chieka thinking in taking giteau of so early, thought he was playing well and supporting foley well.

can we do another 80 minute defensive effort like last night and the welsh v the kiwis I'm not so sure.

the kiwis have only just had to start playing in the last 2 weeks while we had to start a month ago.

giteau was actually busted i think, even though he was doing well - i think cheika yanked him to save his biscuits for the final

pocock is the new mccaw and will be immense for some time to come

either way this will be a ripper final, the only two top teams that have really tried to play rugby, rather than bludgeon the opposition to death in defence and kick for set pieces

hansen and cheika should be applauded for the direction of their kicking games to keep the ball behind the forwards, rather than mercilessly kicking for touch to bring them back into it

hansen was getting slayed in the NZ press for the way they played through the group phase - but it's set them in good stead for the pointy end of the competition. dan carter constantly turned the big SA pack around through a smart low kicking game, making them run all day.

on a side note, australia made more tackles last night than they did against wales

straight up truth boss.

but the Kiwis generally get away with the niggle and we cant do it properly.

Aussies have done a great job and I think will call 2nd a successful tournament considering we couldnt control a scrum a year ago.
