Musialik begins training with Jets

Former Newcastle Jet Stuart Musialik commenced training with the Club at Hunter Stadium on Thursday.

Musialik was a key member of the Jets’ 2007/08 Championship-winning team and has since had stints at Sydney FC and Central Coast Mariners.

After spending some time away from the game, Jets head coach Gary van Egmond said it was pleasing to see Musialik back out on the training paddock.

“It’s been well documented the amount of time that Stuey has been out of the game,” van Egmond said.

“It’s fantastic that from a Club point of view we have one of our own starting to rehabilitate himself out on the training field and get himself an opportunity to get back to full-time football.

“Stuey’s a very, very smart footballer, has lovely touches and he’s already starting to talk to some of the younger boys and give them the benefit of his experiences.”

Musialik will train with the Jets over the coming weeks with a view to playing with the Jets’ youth team in the 2013 NBN State League competition.

“He’s starting to train with us. We’ll get his rehab program all tailored to his needs due to how his body is at the moment,” van Egmond said.

“The next step is for him to play in the local competition and I don’t think there’s any better way for him to start the process of rebuilding his career.”

yeeeew

pffffft, him and McBreen successfully whiteanted yet another Gypo season. Engineered a classic meltdown to cost them another grand final.
They should be paraded through the streets as heros of our community and something for the kiddies to aspire to.
Cant wait for the statue of McBreen missing that penalty immortalised in bronze outside Hunter Stadium.

who are we kidding though, the first sign of Stu regaining his form and Middleby will ship him out for free as well.

Stu in.
Middleby out.

good thing for the club to do tbh especially with it probably close to being at zero cost

if he comes back to his best kudos to the club

if he fails nothing changes.

Simple stuff really, let him train the rest of the season with us, play him in the NBN league and if he tears it up let him have a shot at the a-league next season.

If he cuts it in the NBN I think it might take him a season in the A - League before we see the best from him again. Give him 1yr deal with the option of more if he looks good in next season A - League.

I saw stuey walking out of the forum on Monday. no longer has the beard & looks relatively fit. little bit stocky but by no means fat.

side note - jack Duncan is a monster.
