Firstly, lack of Slobsy optiom is disturbing.

Secondly, I'll go through your list:

Craig Deans - **** off
Paul Okon - won't leave his national role
Arthur Papas - as Okon
John van 't Schip - wouldn't come back to Aus
Pim Verbeek - as Okon
Johan Neeskens - is contracted and I can't see us paying him out
John Kosmina - why recycle average A-League coaches?
Damien Smith (Former coach of the Broadmeadow Magic) - what experience does he have coaching a professional team?
Lotar Matthaus - why get a coach with a less then 50% win record?
Ante Milicic - won't leave Popa/WSW

Where is the GVE option?

If Middleby has any brains (ridiculous, I know) he will keep GVE on. Last 2 games have been absolutely fantastic performances. No fault of GVE tonight - tactics spot on, should have been up 3-0 at half time if not for Tando Velaphi being worse at refereeing than goalkeeping.

Only criticism I have tonight is that Virginity should have come on 10 minutes earlier.

Right and wrong

Right the last few weeks have been much better.

Wrong that it had to come down to the last few weeks to scrape in. How many weeks and points did we throw away stink'n tinkering between rounds 4 to 21 before the muppet conceded Bridgey still had something to offer and his persevering with players who were not performing.

GVE is not a senior coaches backside and his winning % and one dimensional tactics speak for itself.

For me it depends on whether it has been GVE finally working out his best team and learning from his mistakes, or whether it has been a case of a higher rank instructing him on who to pick. The players are also finally following instructions!

Tight one, but went for Neeskens.
Only for the fact he has at least one, if not more absolutely smoking hot daughters. To have them anywhere near Newy would be a win win for everyone involved.

All academic sadly.

According to Toohey GvE will remain albeit under a tight reign.

Toohey was correct several weeks ago when he wrote on the imenent resigning of Bridgey and also the fact there was more to the Griff exit than the club wanted made public.

Ah well life sux.

Pailan Arrows Australian coach Arthur Papas revealed after his side's 2-3 loss against Mohun Bagan that he would be departing the club at the end of the season

Pailan Arrows coach Arthur Papas has announced that he will not be at the helm of the developmental side of the All India Football Federation [AIFF] after the end of the season.

The Australian - formerly on the staff of A-League clubs Newcastle Jets and Melbourne Heart - has been in charge of the Arrows since May 2012 as part of a dual role with the AIFF that also includes the India Under-23 side.

Papas, 32, is fielding offers from Asia and his native Australia. Both Adelaide United and Wellington Phoenix have interim coaches at present and will be looking to make appointments once their seasons finish.

"I won't be with Pailan next year. I have some offers here. I have some back home," Papas said after Sunday's 3-2 league loss to Mohun Bagan.

"It just depends on what I think is best for my career and the project. Because you have to have support from everyone, you need support from the sponsors, from the federation to do the job properly. It's not what you see on the ground, it is about what happens during the week."

Though he personally denied any issues with the federation in a short chat with Goal India, it is being widely speculated that all is not well between Papas and his employers.

GVE's complete failure to deliver what he promised should be enough for HSG to terminate his contract.

He was given plenty of money / resources and pretty much complete control over signings - and yet couldn't get the team into the top six.

Moreover, WSW have managed to win the league at their first attempt, so I doubt that anyone at HSG is buying the "building for the future bullshit" anymore either.

It's not easy being a manager but it's no picnic being a fan with GVE in charge of your team.

I'll be following state league until HSG sort this shit out. Until they do, I haver no plans to ever attend another Jets A-league game.

Its the attitude of a lot of people I know. I'll be blindly renewing, but I know a lot who are going to sit and see who is in charge.

11,000 member target may need to be downsized if they hold their line with GVE.

I'm on the fence.

Last season I was really close to not re-signing, mostly on the back of the friend I had tickets with moving to Melbourne and the fact that I was only one (maybe two) games off not getting my moneys worth with a season ticket due to other weekend commitments. This season, I've only missed two games, wife bought a season ticket and has come to most of them as well... and my reasons for not wanting to sign up again are all to do with being sick of the shit constantly dished up both on and off the park.

In the end, it really might come down to whether or not I can keep it in budget for another fiscal year.

They won't get 11,000 members next year whether GVE is charge or not.

The Jets PR group have a massive task to revive the interest and achieve the target numbers again. Consider also the job redundancies and market uncertainty in industry at the moment I agree in so-much-as-to-say it will be tough.

Getting rid of Gary will retain more members than would occur if he stays.

Nolberto Solano

has only had a couple of coaching stints so far, nothing special, but is maybe looking to get away from England for a year or so after all the crap that has gone on over the last few years (divorce, bankruptcy, rape allegations....proved to be false). Said he wants to coach 'Newcastle United' one day,

It would be fitting to offer him the job as coach of 'a' Newcastle United team just in case he never did get a job at the real one..........not to mention he was a superstar and would bring as much to the club as any sensible marquee player.......
