^ I would be very interested to go to this game if i am not on holidays or if i am on holiday and don't go anywhere with the mrs.

Basically during January to June i only work 4 days a week (mon to thurs) and with the cheap flights from mackay to melbourne (tiger airways) this fixture sticks out to me as a possible goer. All i would need to do is convince the mrs. Anyone else thinking about going to this game?

One issue I did have organising for this game is the Australian Open Tennis is on. A few accommodation locations were booked out already and some have had nice price hikes!!!.

Still enough available but would be ready to pull the trigger on accommodation when you book flights

Game against Wellington is in Napier - about 4 hours drive from Wellington. And its on their Labor weekend, so all the flights are already booked out or hideously expensive.

Round 1 Jets Away Support Coaches

http://www.newcastlefootball.net/home/2013/10/round-1-jets-away-support-coaches/

The new A-League season is almost upon us, and excitement is building ahead of the Newcastle Jets opening game against Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium on Friday 11th October. A number of supporters have enquired about the availability of coaches for this season, so The Squadron Football Supporters Club has booked a coach service to Sydney for the 11th October for any supporters who want to make the trip down the F3 and help pack out the away bays.

Bookings are now open for the Round 1 fixture against Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium on Friday 11th October 2013. Kick-off is at 7:30pm. You can purchase your tickets by calling Sid Foggs on 4928 1088 Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm and Sat 9am – 12pm. You can also purchase in person at Sid Foggs Travel, Gallery Level at Stockland Jesmond.

Coaches will depart from Hunter Stadium car park for Sydney at 4pm and then will depart 20 minutes after fulltime for the return trip to Newcastle. This service is for all Jets supporters and especially for families and younger supporters who want to attend an away game but don’t wish to travel by public transport and want a direct service to the stadium.

Prices for this trip will be $25 per seat or a special family price of $90 (two adults and two children or one adult and three children). Those paying by credit card will attract a 2% non-refundable fee. We have made the costs cheaper and simpler than last season so we hope this makes it more affordable for supporters.

These prices are for return coach travel only and do not include a match ticket. All patrons are strongly advised to purchase their match tickets prior to booking on the coach. Please be advised that smoking and alcohol will not be permitted on board Sid Foggs coaches.

A minimum number of bookings are required to ensure each service goes ahead. Those wishing to use this coach service are urged to purchase their tickets as soon as possible. A decision will be made by 12pm Wednesday October 9th as to whether the minimum number of seats have been sold. If the service is cancelled, customers will be notified and purchases will be refunded (except credit card fees).

Patronage for this service will determine whether there is sufficient demand for future NSW away trips for games against Wanderers and the Mariners. A portion of sales after a completed service will be donated to The Squadron FSC to go towards tifo production costs (large scale displays, flags and poles, banners, drums and megaphones, etc)

The coach service is booked by The Squadron on behalf of all Newcastle Jets supporters with Sid Foggs Coaches. Hunter Sports Group/Newcastle Jets FC have no involvement aside from promoting the service to its Members. Any enquiries for these coach services need to be directed to Sid Foggs Coaches on the above number.

Ok update on the coaches - we have sold out a 56 seater which is a pretty good response.
As more seats sell today they will bump us up to a 60 seater, and if required (and available) onto a 75 seater.

Thanks to everyone who has chosen to use this option, now that we know there is a need we will investigate getting the rest of the NSW away fixtures organised.

Apparently the Cove will be marching from the reserve near the Clock Hotel at Surry Hills 630pm.
This will be about the time we can then leave the Strawberry Hills Hotel to get to the stadium about 30 minutes before kickoff.

I'm not one that would use this service but I think it's a great idea. 1 question furns does the bus have more then one pick up drop of area? I grew up in Swansea and in the past when traveling to music festivals in Sydney Buses would start from Hunter Stadium and make pick ups in Charlestown, Belmont and Swansea there were a few that would travel through Wallsend and make pick ups there to. Just a thought for the future

furns
10-10-2013, 02:48 PM
When we used PSC they only had one pickup spot @ Hunter Stadium

Sid Foggs are offering extra pickups if requested but I have left it up to them to publicise because it depends what the supporters ask for.

Alrighty guys. January 25th v Central Coast in Gosford. I will be in attendance.

I'm down to visit family and i've put my flight home back a day so i can attend this match (extra $100 worth of flights though, ffs). I'm planning on asking to sit with my uncle who is a gypo as long as i am not in the middle of the gypsy "fans". I'm already thinking of not wearing club colours as a) my mrs will be in attendance and its her first game she's been to b) looks like my father inlaw wants to come and though i haven't met him yet, seems like a crazy punch on kind of guy and c) my 10 month old daughter will be with us and i don't trust the gypsy's.

Basically i just want to try and sit in a family friendly area away from any possible trouble. Any recommendations of where to sit? (if there is such an area in blue tongue?)

Yeh living in Airlie Beach. It's not that i think there will be trouble, it's just incase. I've only been there once which was season 1 semi final which my sister got smacked in the face. I don't know what the crowd will be like. I know 99% of both fans will be fine, as always though there is that 1% which ruin it for everyone.

I just don't know what the crowds are like at these games anymore. Though, i do believe there are plenty of police with video camera's etc nowadays so i should be right.

I am more interested on giving it to the Gypo Scum on the opposite train platform whilst we are celebrating a long over due victory at their place.

Think you will find that it will be popular with the masses though if you get the club to spruik it much better than they usually do

Makes sense. If Tiger still did direct flights it might be more popular but having to get to Sydney then fly or do multi leg via Bris/Melb would defo be a massive PITA. Ah well, guess I will just be good friends with Goodwin's relatives if he is still with us next year :(

Can I say that it took us a while but at $18 a ticket we are only aiming to break even from the bus. We are ensuring a good, reliable and safe service to and from the game for the benefit of the supporters.

Get on board.

The Derby coaches are being run at cost to get as many supporters as possible to Shitetongue Stadium. The SFC/WSW services are run to make a small profit to plough into tifo/merch etc

What benefit are the premier getting?

Coach at same cost as squadron...$18 (at cost as stated here)
Ticket cost $24
Free sausage sizzle
Charging $45 ($40 if you have one of their free members cards)
Basic arithmatic puts it at break even if non member, slight loss for members.

At the end of the day it should not be an us vs them scenario. The more jets fans there to witness gypsy tears the better.

It's not about the premier mate.

It is about the promise made to the squadron by the jets.

Lets not forget, the Premier will be offsetting the breakeven coach service against extra alcohol sales from getting people to the pub first before they leave.

Talk about your unique perspective on being a Jerks supporter. Write an article about how your family is from the Coast but you resisted the Coast to support the Jerks, talk about why you keep supporting the Jerks even though they've been abysmal for 7 years and the easy out of giving up to support the successful mariners has been readily available but say why you didn't take up that offer, etc.

Brisbane is actually quiete a cheap trip compared to Melbourne, Adelaide.

I stayed at bunk backpackers whilst I stayed on my own it was worth it $28 Saturday night, $26 Sunday night. Birdi num nums was next door which was a pool and spa. Had some of the Newcastle lunatics stay there too so I had abit of a chat with them post game on Sunday. Quite close to all the night clubs as it's in fortitude valley so for the younger guys that are single it's fun.

Good away trip will do my absolute most to be up there for the next game at suncorp.

Well the birdi num nums bit has a pool which is right next door. Also very close to a major bus route to the city, basically jumped on the bus and could drop me off right near the Caxton hotel.

What type of price are people willing to pay for accommodation on away trips?

If it is near the Train Station in Fortitude Valley SD you could also jump that too to get into town. if I remember right it is only one stop into the city and 2 to Roma St

The 21/22 Newcastle United Home Shirt has been expertly crafted to be lightweight, highly breathable and moisture-wicking, with enhanced ventilation provided by mesh underarm panels. Made from high-stretch fabric to offer exceptional ease of movement and comfort of fit.I'd ordered a few replica shirts in the past off different websites on the cheap but they ended up being poor quality knock offs.

I can safely say that this is not the case here.
I love the design of this shirt and didn't want to miss out before stock ran out.As a NUFC I bought this for my son. Fantastic quality and he likes how it feels on. NB. If you would normally buy e.g. a M size, I would recommend buying a large as naturally they are quite a snug fit. My son is 14 and although tall I bought him a large and it’s fits perfectly.Thought a size Large would fit (other Large sizes do) however, it did not so had to return it and get an Extra Large that fitted. The delivery and return process seems to have worked well. Shirt looks good.I ordered a large t-shirt from inpost uk tracking (https://couriertrackingfinder.com/inpost-tracking/) not a medium this is no good and I wanted it for my son to go on holiday on Tuesday
