The club has said we're nearly at 9000 members.

On Sep 28 last year we were on 9902, and on October 7 last year we were on 10700.

Just wondering what category each forumite was under:
- Member last year, member this year
- Member last year, haven't gotten around to renewing this year but will
- Member last year, will not renew this year (and why?)
- Not a member last year, member this year
- Not a member last year, haven't gotten around to purchasing this year but will
- Not a member last year, will not be again this year (why?)
- Slobs

EDIT: Poll is up

EDIT: Membership update at 9,000 members (8 Oct 2013)

Had a Gold family membership last year - Two Adults, two children. Now only have one adult and one child membership. The other adult couldn't commit to a membership and one of my sons shows absolutely no interest in football as a form of entertainment. So he wasn't fussed when I suggested he give up his seat.

Was going to give up the membership completely and just pick and choose games but I really like the people I sit with, which makes it more of a social commitment rather than being about the Jets.

But, but, but?????? isn't there programmes that he can attend to put him right? or courses, Cognitive behavioural therapies? It's unnatural! surely you just need to socialize him better!

this is lulz, not to be taken seriously

it is serious

Pretty much same as hausmann. Wife no longer interested in rocking up but still better off on my wallet to get a solo membership even if I do miss a few games.

I got a family membership for the Bay next to the Squadron as we have for past few seasons though to be honest of the four tickets my partner rarely goes and we find one of my sons mates to use it.

We sit in our seats on a few occasions but mostly sit across in the far opposite corner, for some reason they never let us nominate those seat numbers for our tickets even though we have asked. Not that we mind the squadron it just has shade lol

despite slobs option, poll is illogical.

more sensible question is if you were a member last year, why are you a member this year?

personally - last year yes, this year no. why?

- can get in for free anyway
- have you seen them play?
- tenzo may be getting a pool

Family member last year (2A + 2C) and again this year. Sit on western side near away tunnel with group of friends. Good social outing, kids get autographs of all the visiting stars (as well as jets), in the shade (big deal with kids).

Extrapolating the figures above seems to indicate we will end up with around 9400 members at kickoff.

All Palmer and RM's fault for keeping GVE.

Had no intention of ever renewing my membership but folded around a month ago and renewed our memberships. Don't get me wrong I still hate GVE. It's just that I hate the other clubs in the A-League even more.

I renewed on the premise I'll go to about 1/3 of the games, which works out the same as a membership roughly.

Come to the TC before games meet some forum mates, then you'll have new mates to go to games with ill be with the Dickheads(mates)/Bon(not Dickhead to big to insult) that have a fancy dress every home game. See you there.

Is this included in the membership fee or do you have to pay extra?

Member last year, not renewing.

I don't get a lot of value out of it. Last year there was a 10% supported discount on all things bought from the Jets Store... this year its a $10 voucher. The other stuff I don't really need. I think I read somewhere about a squadron membership or something, for like $10 or something. I might just donate $10 to those boys or something instead. Much more worth while I believe and it will go to people who will actually appreciate the coin.

Squadron Membership is $10. More to that a few games down the line you will see your $10 is the form of large sections of fabric with paint on it.

Members junk this year is without doubt worst quality to date. Picked up said junk last night at the stadium and OMG the kids stuff is beyond woeful. Both my kids just laughed at it and said "throw it out". Clearly aimed at 4-5 year olds.

Caps are OK but how many bloody caps do you need?

After the bags the Kids got the last two seasons, this year is a massive step down on quality and quantity.

I'd have like a scarf again, but my wife is stoked that there is less stuff this year.

Agreed - make more sense just to give a bigger discount on merchandise to members. Everything seems so cheap this year and I doubt each members pack is worth more than $5 wholsale.

Good to see many green shirts last night - didn't see anybody with the new first shirt though.

8.

That way if you wear them all once you've got yourself a broad brimmed piece.

I wish they'd give out sunnies and sunscreen to all tickets in the eastern. Or some kind of brace to hold your arm up to use your hand to shield the sun.
