Strong words Sharkattack. Any reason for making the post now?
Over the first 3 rounds I've realised how quality clubs show up and don't make a fool of themselves. If you can't field 11 blokes per team then don't bother coming at all.

you are a goose champ , who ever you are and how you got the same user name beats me. you are the fool , everyone who knows me knows iam not at stockton this year so you can have the user name because i need a new one. dont take any notice of this peanut. you are an idiot , a discrace to this forum and the stockton football club , you need to be deleted.

What on earth went on there? Looks like a Tocal Field Day not a sports field, what were the TAFE thinking??? I think it's not just a valid comment but for all the other clubs one that should be raised with Russell Henry about getting games transferred to a decent pitch until its at least semi playable again

No you didn't, you're just a F-Wit. A lot of hard work has gone into getting Hunter Simba off the ground, and that includes resources from Northern and from Men of Football, and you're being disrespectful.
You'll protest that it isn't what you meant, but it's pretty pathetic that there is a minority within the football community that finds it appropriate to make these snide comments about the club, which in my opinion contain racist undertones. From what I understand yes, there is sometimes issues around organisation and scheduling but when you consider where some of the players have come from what the eff do you expect.
Given that with your posting history you play for Charlestown, a club that in its previous incarnation was an Italian-based club with a long history of immigrant footballers, it's both interesting and ignorant that you choose to make these comments. Though you're probably from the Charlestown United Hack side of the club.
If, judging by that photo, their pitch is well and truly gone for the season this hurts them more than any other club. A lot of their players often go to the ground for informal matches along with training, because they genuinely love football.
By the way, I'm not associated in any way shape or form with the club.
Mahk, what is being done to either repair the ground or make alternative arrangements for the club for the remainder of the season?

Just to let you know A-Gunners doesn't have any association with Charlestown City Blues anymore, so that can be left at that.
As for calling Charlestown United "Hacks", pretty hypocritical to be making comments about someone who has said something negative towards a club, then do the exact same thing. Think before you speak.
As for the pitch, its pretty obvious that Football and the community means little to the council, about time they woke up and realised that FIELDS are not f$&king car parks.

Issues with Iso Park is that it is used by HCCF every Saturday.
Simba could play there on Sundays, but I don't know how that would work with the draws. Plus, given that NCC has already handed out ground allocations for the year, I'd imagine it would tough to go to another club and say, we're gonna force you to let another 3 teams of competitive players play on your ground every second week, plus allow them to train 2 nights a week as well. And I don't think Islington Park has lights either? Most clubs struggle to keep their grounds in reasonable nick throughout the winter with their own teams playing and training on it, let alone another 3 teams.
If they're looking for free grounds, Cook Park is free, having been vacated by Fletcher-BTAC.

Also Olympic do use the ground for training and junior games. There Zone League team plays out of Connolly park as Iso Park does not meet the standards to play zone league games

I'm not sure those rules apply anymore as league 3 teams will find out when travelling to RAAF. We played there on Sunday and there where no dressing sheds for the away team (not.sure about home team as they came from other side of field but would think they have something) All that was there was a small covered area. ( not much good when it rains like it did when we where there) Was told there was a canteen but never saw it. And if by chance your name Is not on a list you Must give them before the game u must do a 15min induction.

Happy to be corrected but I thought that Simba's field was actually under the TAFE grounds, like MacDougall field over on the other side of the grounds? If that's the case I can perhaps understand why this has occurred as the TAFE Admin would simply see it as a chance to increase income and not have the same outlook/attitude towards the space as the Council does a public park.
It is becoming apparent within NCC and LMCC areas there needs to be a big review of open space uses.

The people in charge of Newcastle TAFE are clueless about sport, sporting facilities or sporting fields. I wouldnt be surprised if they didn't know that grass are plants. However, they try to be as helpful as possible at the same time worrying about NSW TAFE's money issue. If they can help they will do anything, as long as it doesn't require a large some of money.
My suggestion is to put goal posts on the inner field (**** the knights juniors and their contract to use it exclusively), and use that for matches until No 2. Oval can be rebuilt. Notice i said rebuilt instead of repaired. This is why:

Conditions and ground where not the best for football and neither was the passing from tenambit. First goal was a pen given away by me for a moment thought I'd be saying good luck to my back up keeper but got away with a yellow.
RAAF had alot of the ball but I only had two saves and a few smothers in the first half I can remember.
Second half was different. Raaf Started getting a few more shots off forcing me into a good save which I then followed up by dropping the corner to the opposition striker who slotted for a two nil lead. They were good without being great. And we couldn't keep the ball long enough to build enough pressure.
Yeah it was disappointing they did the best they could for us with what they had. Did get jealous when they set up a gazebo for there bench and we were left to sit in the rain.

All grounds and facilities need to be looked at and reviewed. This being for junior and senior clubs.
Obviously councils are the owners, thus they are responsible. Big issue as soccer/football is such a big participation sport. Councils are crying poor, so they tend to turn a blind eye.
Warners bay sheds are a disgrace, no fault to warners bay. LMCC should have done work there a decade ago. They probably would say they have spent money on lights and ground.
As for the RAAF, they need to provide more for visiting teams. It appeared there was a home shed. Maybe they could get some money from government to build a shed. Afterall, the government are spending billions on the new 58 strike fighters, many of which will be based at williamtown.

RAAF based sports teams generally always struggle touch with facilities compared to previous decades as the bases see these as non core recreational facilities nowdays. Few bases any longer have defence based sports sides because so few people live "on base" any longer, they actually tend to encourage members to become part of their local community as opposed to having base heavy sides. It is a pity the team could not have approached or been invited to use Medowie's facilities with them being so close.
I do know LMCC have a system to Schedule all their parks which I am assuming also plays a part in capital works planning etc but the biggest factor is planning. Clubs becoming proactive and meeting Councils and getting upgrades on their upcoming works lists because as long as someone is they have no need to go looking for ground amenities to upgrade because they already have lists 5 years long.

Yeah I play for the RAAF side and we can't play our night games there due to the poor lighting. The midweek game we have coming up is going to be played in Medowie. I agree our ground is not the best in the comp with no change rooms or canteen or even seating for supporters. I have been playing in Sydney for 7 years though and no ground I ever played on in the Eastern Suburbs had change rooms and the parks were public parks and were usually wrecked by the weekend with public use so I can't complain. It's manageable when the sun is shining but on days like we had on Sunday it's less than ideal.

Liles 1 ( where we play) is pretty good with wet weather, that is why we nominated it. Liles 2 gets called off if a dog pisses on the fence, it is rubbish for wet weather and unfortunately is the ground with the lights so training is effected quite a lot.

Extreamly poor game from dudley. But credit where credits due, Kurri were very good. Not much to say from a Dudley point of view.
Not sure that the score should have been much more, Kurri found the net pretty much on every shot. Dudley played most of the second half with 10
Men due to 2 seperate injuries. One injury was caused by an extreamlly crude tackle into the back of our player. It certainly was a low point and tackle doesnt even decribe it. No place
In the game.

Round 3 catch up game last night
Kurri v mayfield
Ressies
Kurri 1 - mayfield 2
Really slow start by our guys going 1 down early on mayfield scored the second early in the second half after a challenge on our keeper had made the ball come loose which they put away
We scored late in the half with a well taken goal but left it a bit late for a come back with having a lot of new really young guys this year it will take some time to get used to senior level but hopefully will get it together soon
1st grade
Kurri 3 - mayfield 1
A very fast and physical game played in good spirits
both teams went at each other for the full 90 mins which made for a entertaining match mayfield seemed to have picked up a few new players and will finish a lot higher then in previous years
As for us we made it very tough for ourselves doing a lot of the simple things wrong but still played some good football the first goal was pretty scrappy and we probably went to sleep for while but held mayfield out
The second half we played a lot better knocking the ball around well for longer periods and pinched our second goal
After pushing forward chasing another goal mayfield pinched a goal on the counter which then picked the speed of the game up more
We brought on some fresh legs and it seemed to pay off being able to open mayfield up a bit more and we were rewarded with the 3rd goal we nearly pinched another right at the end but a good save from there keeper. credit to our boys though especially our keeper who keeps us in the game every week with some important saves we dug deep though and got a important result where we may have folded in previous years
It will be a big test come Saturday and hopefully we can show up again and get the result

Dudley lost 4-0 in res, did not do a lot wrong but Simba converted good chances on the break, their 10 was a good player as was the tall fellow out wide , 6?. 1st Dudley conceded 1 min out from 1/2 time after we lost our keeper to injury, we conceded again 2 mins after 1/2 time and we can put our F.B down for an assist. Unfortunately our replacement keeper hit the post and has broken his patella in 4 places, it was fairly ugly. The game was abandoned. He is in surgery now for approx. 2 hrs, all the best Sam.
We did show some better signs yesterday and will continue to improve, we just need to be better with the ball an reduce our cheap turnover.
We hope we are not seen as bringing the comp down and have been impressed with the level of competition. This was always going to be a learning year and we continue to do so. I'm really proud of what we have achieved so far and step by step we will get where we need to be. Fight on Demons.

That's terrible to hear bout your keeper hopefully all goes well with his surgery. No likes to hear news like that.
With.the match being abandoned what does that mean for result stand as was or getting replayed at a later date.
And as for your concern about bringing the comp down I don't think you have anything to worry about you seem to be showing up every week with enough players to play both grades and are doing your best to compete in games. So I believe you have nothing to worry about.

A game has to go 3/4 in order for the result to stand. So will probably be a replay.
As for the bringing the comp down. I heard that the Simba coach was telling a group of people that Dudley should not be in the comp. That they are bringing it down. Not sure if that is right but I did hear it from a reliable source and think if true it is bang out of order

I dont really care what some other coach has to say. End of the day we live in a free country, We paid our fees so we are in. Maybe others should worry about themselves. Simba had to apply at
some stage to enter competition just like us. We all have to start somewhere.
The standard has suprised us a little. Its quite good. On saturday we had to sit out a player as we had 29 available, so numbers wont be an issue. Im sure the Dudley boys will come good, sooner rather then later I hope.

Keep your heads up Dudley, don't let ignorant statments bother you guys. There is still a long way to go. Your comp is better off with you and you guys are learning on the fly. I hope you guys can string some wins together and push for the semis.

WOW where do I begin with what I just witnessed at the Simba V Tenambit game, They changed grounds due to the circus but unfortunately some circus folk followed. THe ref (Murray) is out of his depth refing under 6's let alone a first grade match. The two penaltys he gave to simba today where nothing short of a joke and the #10 for simba sure knows his way to the ground (even if its the wind knocking him over). First pen was not only offside but after he rounded the keeper and lost control of the ball throws his leg back towards the keeper to find any sort of contact and managed to. Second pen the ref decided the first push in the back by the simba player was fair play but the shoulder to shoulder from tenambit ( which wouldn't have knocked over an infant) was deemed enough to warrant a second gift. Don't get me wrong when the ref actually stayed out of the spot light there was some decent football played. Some cracking shots by Simba only matched by some equally good saves by the Tenambit keeper, who other then the gifts given didn't look like getting beaten. He could probably learn to keep his mouth shut tho, very lippy player. Just ashame to have a potentially good game of football ruined by a ref who was past his prime 10 years ago minimum.

When simba put their game together, they are almost impossible to stop. I didnt feel we (dudley) were too bad, probably 2-3 goal difference would have been a fair result. 2 of the goals by no 6 would have beaten any keeper anywhere and made any highlights reel.
As far as this competition goes. I think that only 3 teams can win it. Cooks hill, simba and kurri.
Raaf look good for the other semi spot.
The rest mayfield, tenambit and us
will find it hard to close the gap. Its not that big at the moment, but points are hard to come by against the top teams.
Cooks hill have the best all round team. Simba have the best attack, kurri also extreamlly strong going forward. Raaf have some extreamlly good players, but are possible more predictable then the other 3.
Tenambit are strong in defence and mayfield are a lot better then their 2 points suggest.
A good comp, we will just keep battling away and see where we end up.
The roosta

I think the comp is still wide open for any team really there is still a lot of games to be played
After now playing everyone for us I'd have to say Simba and Raaf were by far the best teams we came up against both play a good fast style of game , cooks hill are a pretty handy team as well I think tenambit can match it with most teams on their day and mayfield and Dudley should still be confident and could possibly pick up few more points this round
I think for any team to win the comp this year they need to stay consistent and probably most importantly motivated with the season having 21 rounds
Hopefully for us this round we can keep our losses down again but convert some of the draws to wins

Good win for tenambit considering what we had to contend with. Swear the ref was on a power trip, as he basically screamed at players the entire game. But he did have an assessor to impress but didn't need to as the assessor was coming up.with plenty of excuses for all three when they made howling errors.

Mayfield were again slow out of the blocks and went behind early. Unfortunately, the RAAF looked like running away with it before half time.
Mayfield came out of the half time break full of steam and pulled one back before RAAF got another goal on the counter.
A couple of quick goals to mayfield made for an interesting final 20 minutes with a goal to Mayfield in the last 5 minutes securing an important point to mayfield.
Although it was good to have an official and I know it is always a cop out blaming the ref for some poor decisions but mayfield were On the wrong side of some very poor decisions!!

Dissapointing result from dudleys point of view. The match against kurri took a fair bit out of the team and it showed, missing 10 players didnt help. But credit to tenambit, they played well.
It could easily been a different result if tenambits 2nd goal wasnt given. Players from both sides said the ball didnt cross line, unfortuneatly the linesman seen it different. Tenambit 3rd goal was also very dodgey, keeper taken out. Too late to whinge now.

I must admit I do like a bit of in game banter sometimes too much, ( and refs don't seem to like it when I involve them) but anything said on the field stays on the field and yes the second half picking up where the ball in the sun was a bitch and took a lot of my concentration which kept me quiet which my team certainly enjoyed aswell. Still nearly stuff up big time when I completely lost one and had to do some back peddling.

You were certainly a lot quieter in the 2nd 1/2 sharky21! Now I know why. Was 2 scrappy games and disapointing from our view we couldn't take points. Good luck to you guys on your battle to make the final 4.
Any chance that Dudley could update sporting pulse with these results. Been over a week and still not updated.

The race is on with four teams looking to take 3 spots left in the finals. And all 4 still with a chance of 2nd place. Simba have surley secured a spot and unless the wheels fall off I'm all but giving them the premiership and promotion should they choose to accept it.

Solid performace from dudley. Outplayed for large periods of the game, we managed to find a goal against the run of play.
Unfortuneatly for us, A penalty with 10 minutes to go gave cooks hill an equaliser. Dissapointing as the penalty was defineatly not a penalty. The ref was the only person that thought it was.
Now I can see the frustration that other teams had expressed earlier in season. As after a tough season
Where we have had one win, that penalty was the difference between a draw and a win. I also couldnt believe a cooks hill player was mistaken and yellow carded for another cooks hill player who ran 30 metres to get involved in a bit of push and shove.
Anyway enough whinging, still a good point earned. On with saturdays game vs mayfield.

If my maths is correct ( which it usually isn't) that draw to Cookshill gives Simba a 9 point lead leading into the last two rounds. And therefore gives them the PREMIERSHIP congratulations to Hunter Simba the only team we where unable to take any points off. Hopefully we get one last crack at u guys in the finals. Well done simba,The table doesnt lie.
Should be a good battle for spots 3 and 4. No matter what happens in next few weeks RAAF should be happy on their first season in , As we have found out that this is a good comp.
Hopefully we can finish the season with another win and avoid the wooden spoon. We will then look to build a stronger squad for next season.

Has anyone heard the rumour of an ID4 next year? From what I hear it is to be 1 grade only and is to act as a third grade for ID2 / ID3 teams only as a "combined comp" So if for eg if Merewether in ID2 had a third team and Mayfield in ID3 had a third team they would both be in ID4.
Obviously there would be some logistical issues it seems but scheduling would, where ever possible, mean all 3 grades played at home on the same day. Better chance of refs!
I like it, some wrinkles to iron out but I reckon the we could fill a genuine third grade.

Still points and pride to play for and we will go to kurri determined to finish the season on a decent note. Especially given both grades inconsistent form of late.

Regarding talk of id2/id3 combined third grade or id4. I know that a couple of our guys (dudley)put in a proposal to seek interest from other clubs.
Our club is looking to build a stronger club, therefore adding numbers without loosing players. Having another team in our ranks helps this issue. This would also create a stronger club feel that is more appealing to sponsors and for 3 officials.
As far as I know there is interest from at least 5 clubs for this to happen. 12 team competitions wont work, too big difference in quality from first to last. Less semi
final spots would mean teams lose interest. Would it really matter if Id4's was of less quality then All Age 'A' ? Most clubs have affiliated all age teams, why not incorparate them in further.
At the end of the day more players and teams will only strengthen competition. All competitions have to start somewhere.

Well that's our first season over and done with. Maybe it didn't go quite to plan but it has been a valuable learning curve. Not bad for a bunch of AA E/M guys I suppose but we obviously need for next year to attract 4-5 quality guys to strengthen first grade. We remained committed to the end and in true Dudley spirit we never gave up.
To the teams who have made the finals good luck. In the end I think it was the top 4 teams of the season getting through. Mayfield must be wrapped we have come in and taken the wooden spoon off them!
I must say I hope to see a bit more consistency in the refs department next year, especially in more local areas where they know everyone's names!!!!!
The level of this competition has been pretty impressive as a whole and we are pleased we made the jump. Bring on 2015 where we will be bigger, faster, better and be really targeting top 4 in both grades (or 3 grades????)

From a first grade perspective of tenambits year, it's a tad disapointing to not be playing finals football as that was our goal at the start of the season, I really feel that we should be there but let ourselves down with 7 draws with majority of them being games I believe we should have won. But as a playing group we take this is a step forward considering in the last 3 years we have had two wooden spoons and a second last dropping from zl1 to ZL3 within that period of time. To attain more points this year then those 3 put together is a positive, and hopefully with the majority of the boys staying we can add to few keys positions and give this comp a proper go next year and be more consistent.
From a res grade point of view we are stoked to be playing finals football the final position is a bit lower then we would have liked considering we went something like 14 games undefeated but dropping the last 3 cost is the chance to place first. But we will be ready and to give these finals a good shake.

Extreamlly dissapointing way to finish the season with a 5-0 loss. The 2nd goal a minute or so before half time killed any chance of a result for us. That goal came of a dubious free kick and highlighted how most breaks have gone against us this year. We battled hard untill the final 10 minutes when we hit the wall and kurri knocked im three quick late goals.
As for the finals, it should be a close series. I hope RAAFget the money, as like us they are a new side.
For us at dudley, its been an interesting season. Getting a squad of 32 players together has been unique. Although we had 16 or so players from 2 all age sides, the rest were sourced from around 10 teams.
The competition was strong. having played a fair few seasons of All Age A, I found Id3 1st grade
Stronger. I found the referee standard overall good, but like most teams in new competitions the big calls often go against you.
Time to plan for season 2015, not sure on how the competition will pan out. But hopefully this id4s can get a start and some of the clubs jump on and enter a team.

Pretty interesting comments I gather you had some issues during Ur games against Kurri this year? Actually did u even play in this comp if I'm not mistaken u have a link with garden suburbs. I played in 6 games against Kurri this year between the two grades and trials and couldn't once think of a time i walked off thinking they were a bunch of grubs. And those on this forum know i am an oppinunated goal keeper who doesn't mind a bit of verbal afters, they are competitive and strong into a challenge, I myself got flattened a few times but always got a hand up or at least asked if I was all good even after some previous verbals.
I gathered Ur comments were intended at first grade but just to be clear tenambit res grade ain't grubs either.

Sure does. They smashed us in both games. They passed the ball around well and had quite a few players who i thought could easily play at a much higher level. I'm surprised they finished 5th in B Grade - but then again, there are some strong teams scattered throughout the All Age divisions.

Ouch, Very harsh words. Grub is a very big call. There are a few players in the competition who like the odd cheap trip or shot. I wouldnt call them grubs.
Kurri certainly go in hard in tackles and close to the mark. But if they win the ball, then theres no dramas. They probably more commited to 50/50 tackles then most. It obviously must have upset Fresh. Our guys arnt complaining, afterall we were probably

Well well well, I am surprised at those results. Kurri res grade obviously improved greatly throughout the year but RAAF were clearly the strongest team in res (in my eyes) all year. To get both teams through to GF is a great effort.
Cookers 1st grade seemed to stall in the back end of the season, I would have had them v Simba in 1st grade GF at the 1/2 way point of the year.
Should make for 2 interesting GF's due to the different playing styles of kurri v samba and cookers v kurri. Good luck to all.

I'll assume this 7-1 is a typo...
2 v 3 matches (2nd leg)
TIMERITE Pk
Res's: Cooks Hill 2 v Tenambit 0 (ht 1-0: 5-0 agg)
1st's: Cooks Hill 1 v Kurri Kurri 3 (ht 0-2: 1-4 agg)
4-1 didn't reflect the sum of both games, it was a lot closer than that on the pitch, but Kurri took all their chances and Cooks Hill didn't so props to them. Should be a good match up in 1sts next week against Simba.
