View Full Version : Squadron Relocation: Your thoughts please
The foz iq levels continue to outweigh the stupidity post on Facebook.
Squadron to some people are the reason global warming started
Not as bad as the clowns who post on the Newy Herald site.
The levels of hate they have for a bloke like Griff is mind boggling hard to understand.

They're the same morons who spend their days making the illiterate comments on The Herald website. Little the city can do to rid ourselves of them unfortunately
Rid the world of warning labels. Natural selection should start kicking in, in a few years time.

I'm just all for fans voicing their opinions. There's no doubt bridges divides opinion.
Do you think memberships will be impacted on by an anti-bridges banner? Or are you saying the squadron moving will impact on memberships?
Keep it on the forum, anyone holding anti anyone is just a lowlife. Regarding relocation, it's on a par with Abbots boat people policy. Apparently we'll all be told tomorrow that it's permanent. What will be will be

Lowlife? Really.
So someone voicing their concerns about the club and the direction they appear headed and doing that at the game makes them a lowlife?
Bit rough. Are we all supposed to just bend over an cop it sweet when we disagree with the way our club is being run?
Someone in another thread said something about the blind faith folk have in griff.... Blind faith in the club is just as blind.
If the fans aren't going to "keep the bastards honest" and hold the club to account who the hell is?

Amazes me the club pr dept. don't delete some of the comments tbh. It hardly presents the whole supporter base in the best light.
Can't imagine any posts saying "people who sit in bay 78 are a pack of fools" or "the upper eastern are a pack of dicks" would stand, why are attacks on any group of fans in such a public manner deemed okay? Criticise by all means, but the shit that some people post is embarrassing to the whole club.

I'm bringing a banner to the next game campaigning against bad analogies.

My only worry is that the club may listen to those clowns that post on there.
Seriously, how many of them actually attend games?
In all of the official Facebook postgame status', there was one person who specifically brought up the new location (some people said 'squadron wer shit', others said 'squadron were awesome').
Eddie Cashen: "Hope they put the squadron back in bay 2 and that out of time drummer and the clown on the megaphone as well" 4 likes.

Takes time to educate people about active support unfortunately. I didn't pick everything up in the squadron overnight. Most of these wingers on the Facebook have probably never stood inside the squadron as they are likely too concentrated on watching the game or only willing to make noise when the boys play well.
Bring on Sunday, we should have decent numbers for an afternoon game being out of the blaring sun.
Wingers you say? Are they any good at crossing the ball? That's what makes the difference IMHO

Not to mention he is a Smurfs supporter with a soft spot and interest in the Jets.
Go Figure how you could come to this line of thought??
Have fun tearing his misguided ideals of it being OK to be supporting in some form 2 NSW Clubs in the one National Comp
Membership sales next year will show if it's a good move or not

Huh?
If you've got a problem with a post report it.
My point was that its embarrassing that the club allow fans to hate on other jets fans in the public domain with little moderation. If you think something I say or seem to support is attacking an other group of jets fans, call me on it, or report the post.
If your going to suggest I "can't have it both ways" don't start by admitting you have no idea what I've taken umbridge to, and then compare what's posted on here with something you admit you've not seen.

as per normal, the biggest critics are the ones who have sweet fa to do with the squadron and just want us to be like the rbb -_-
as a loyal squadron member, these last 2 months i havent been able to attend due to circumstances out of my control, ive found that the hardest thing to do is actually sit and watch the games.
bay 60 will be good for the squadron and i can not wait to get into bay 60 and give it a red hot go.
ps could an admin inbox me as to how i can join the tifo crew please.

I was on the hill last week but after being in bay 60 I feel this is the right move. It is more compact so it feels like more people. I prefer the view and there is plenty of room to grow

From Bay 58, the squadron looked good. The corner is visually a good move.
Only struggle will be battling a strong NE wind. That was mentioned by someone before.
Can I suggest a song sheet drop for the surrounding bays? Nobody around me seems "engaged" at the moment.
"clap, clap clap, clap clap clap clap clap clap - JETS!" and "come on Newcastle" got good involvement around me however.
And no call and response yesterday?

nice to meet you yesterday, good to put name to faces
we will probably do another chant drop off maybe at the start of next season.
i think if people can rally around the c&r and the come on newcastle, jets x 8 chant than its a good start.
next year will get them onto other ones.

Good to meet you guys yesterday too. I'll be sure to pop over and say g'day from time to time.
couple of home games left. Those who havent yet go check out bay 60 for yourselves and giss some final feedback.
Ive noticed a lack of player celebration in this corner (cept for griff), foxdoesnt cut to it as often as bay 2, Still much better view for mine.

tbf the players generally stopped doing that anyway even when we were back in bay 2.
In recent times I can only remember Taggart doing it in the derby.
Bring back the good old days of Griff, Labi, Jobe, etc.

OK we need to make a decision whether we are to remain in bay 60 for next season, or whether we move back to bay 2.
I have removed the previous poll, and added an updated one so supporters can vote again.
This poll will close midnight on Wednesday 2nd April.
Also, comments and constructive criticism is welcomed.
Speak now, as we want as much input from everyone as possible so we can make an informed decision.

Out of the sun, good view of the match without craning your neck. Better integration with fellow members in the Western Stand.

Stay.
Contrary to what is perhaps the popular belief, we have actually recruited well since our move to bay60. I know 4 people who are now participating in bay week in, week out, and see others who I never saw in bay2
Positively we have (until some one game wonders last week) significantly reduced the element of detractors from the bay. People who seemed to show up only to abuse fellow supporters have not followed us across the field. It must have proved too much effort for them.
Tifo wise I still think it is better, or I should say has the potential to be better. I don't think at this stage we have used the bays full potential, however there are other reasons for that.
I would like to see bay 72 above us be the bay 1 equivalent should the move become permenant.

The afternoon games are way better in bay 60 for energy levels. Do the people in bay 59 and stuff join in with the come on Newcastle, clap jets chants though?
Can confirm the come on Newcastle chant was getting up in bay 3, 4, 5 last week.
One thing I have noticed this season as it goes along the Western Stand is getting fuller and fuller game by game. This is inspite of crowd totals dropping.
For some reason people are moving to the Western Stand anyways.
The Eastern Stand is actually getting sparser and sparser patronage every week

Bay 60 is cooler by 30 times.
I have no comments for or against I just don't want to stand in the direct sun for every family orientated match. 60 at least gives us a 65% reduction of Sun burn and sun blindness

Better fences to stand on
with the influx of younguns the old boys can finally step back, phew.
As for the selected spot, No for 2 or 60, preference will always be for the unattainable behind the goals :(

I actually don't mind it on the sidelines though. Must just be used to it with most grounds having the away section in corner areas. It's really only Sydney football stadium where we stand behind the posts for easy away travel.

Really interested to hear from those who voted no.
Just cause all the comments have been affirmative, yet two no votes. (Presuming hawk either a) didn't vote, b) voted yes anyway)
voted behind goals so in lieu I vote where ever highest number can be attained

i liked the location, but it didnt have the Bay 2 feel. Everyone needs to be aloud in there to support the team regardless if your a active member or no..
More numbers are needed and that should be the main aspect of the squardron..

that is a general FFA problem, that active support must be reserve seating.
in saying that, i think if you try and walk in there on matchday you shouldn't have a problem, besides the NSW opposition games.
