China obviously has a massive population but is still a minnow in footballing terms. Why do they throw buckets of money at the CSL but dont seem to be investing anything in terms of their grassroots to improve their national team standards?
And despite the wealth of some clubs, the CSL is still not seen as a footballing powerhouse of AFC that the J-League and K-League are seen to be. Are they taking any steps to improve the standard of the CSL, or are they just concentrating on the marquee names to increase publicity?
