Honestly, nowhere at the moment. Perhaps in the Heskey role where we have always figured he'd fit but never really made a fist of it when he has had a go.

Not expecting Kanta to start either.

• Kersey has never awarded a penalty or sent off a player in a Jets match he’s officiated.
• The 3 Jets players who have been booked were all booked this season – Josh Brillante, Kew Jaliens and Ben Kantarovski.

Agree pretty much with your observations, Mitchell was also very good and Kanta coming on seemed to open up more options with his vision and passing.

When the game opened up towards the end and Oxborrow came on for Heskey I couldn't help but think that this would have been a perfect opportunity for Bradbery. Imagine Kale playing in the "hole" behind Taggart running at big, tired defenders like Kisnorbo with his speed. No offence to the Ox who I think is a decent young footballer but from the numerous Youth games I've seen Bradbery is a better footballer at this stage of their careers and has more to offer!

Birraz had some nervy moments but at least he's decided he's coming for them now. He'll improve

The beardless deffo ain't Sansom. Once one thunderbolt goes in the flood gates will open.

Zads had a very good game. I thought this was one of Gallaway's better games too. Didn't shirk outta challenges.

Caravella was good again. Goodwin picked up and for Hoole it just wasn't his night.

Thought Hesk was great again. A real threat and deserved a goal. Already posted about Taggz and Mitchell

Carney did well when he came on. Oxborrow was too casual with the ball I felt. Not the time for pretty stuff. Get it, pass it. Kanta has been sorely missed and needs to come back next week.

It was a scrappy game but hey we got the points. Credit also to Redmayne - played a blinder.

Stuck around afterwards to try get some stuff signed by Kewell and I have to ask, when did kids become so rude and demanding!? They're yelling at him while the bloke it doing some training and cool down. Let him train FFS! He's not going anywhere Patience is a virtue. Anyway the kids were wanting Germano to sign their kewell gear until I told them that wasn't him. NFI. Good on the Heart players too who posed for photos and signed kids shirt too. And to Craig Goodwin who walked the entire fence signing stuff. Very good clubman and representative if the team.

This was a very rare missed home game for me, I think only the 3rd since the start if the aleague. I watch in tv late last night, managed to avoid hearing the score until then.
Zads was excellent, he looked like he has his passion back (and I'm not one of his biggest fans!). Taggart was awesome, that guy is incredible at keeping the ball, should have had a hat trick though (the last one was a really bad miss).
Goodwin was great once the heart started to tire. Beard was great, when he puts his head down he has speed to burn, I really would like to see him use that more. I didn't think hoole was that bad, he and taggart had a few nice combinations in the first half. Caravella I swear he must get dizzy, never seen a player turn so May circles, still better than was at start of season though. Kanta needs to come straight back in, bloke is absolutely vital to our chances of actually soon something. Mitchell played really well. Credit where it's due, he was strong, aggressive and calm. He didn't look to shakey on the ball either.

All in all, it was a bit scrappy but I think that suited us more than them. Engelaar got frustrated early and we played on that. As others have said, great to see a bit of pride! Just gotta keep it up now.

Yeah, I'd hate for an investor to get any form of return

Its a football club ffs. If you go in expecting profits, you're in the wrong business.

we better get at least a mil but I doubt it

Our club can't negotiate an upsize on a McValue meal.
We ain't getting a red cent for him.

How long is left on his contract?

I'd be happy to see him go on a free transfer. One of the most over-rated players in the history of sport, let alone football. Why any euro club would sign a GK that can't catch and has no command inside the 6 yard box is anyone's guess. And let's not forget the brain snaps when he rushes out at a billion miles an hour only to be caught stranded. It happened twice yesterday and fortunately he got away with it.

I doubt that Bayer Leverkusen would be silly enough to sign him. But I'm hoping they are.

Hopefully any money that comes in actually goes into the football club for stuff that will benefit us long term and not into Tinks pocket to balance the books

lol, that $400K would go nowhere near balancing the books for Tinkler. If I had to guess, losses since he took over would be somwhere in the vicinity of $1-2mil at least by now (Heskey's contract, cheap as chips tickets, Emerging Jets program, payouts to the Culinas).

Yeah I haven't been impressed by him his season. When u have a reasonably short team on set pieces, you need a big commanding aggressive keeper. Not some princess that avoids contact

I appreciate the money a transfer would generate ain't gonna balance Tinks books as he has pissed away a shit load already. Just hope that what ever money comes in is actually allowed to be invested in making our club stronger in the future ie Blowing into the Emerging Jets or training facilities etc Rather than just ends up back in Tinks pockets to plug holes in his empire.

Obviously Tinks decision in the long run but being that this would be the first big money sale we have had under him it would be good to see the money stay in Newy Football rather than go elsewhere

I managed to jump on board the jets to win against a stronger more attacking opposition theory this week, the benefit of plague jnr's no show had me even more confident.

Also managed to sneak a few each dollars with the outright steal for a jets player to concede the first yellow card of the game, $1.90 thanks Mitchell & thanks sportsbet you silly silly fools.

Take Heskey's money and any transfer and get an experienced OS coaching team out here, if your going to weigh the poor emerging jets kids down with GVE then at least let those who survive get a chance at a good football education once they get to the Jets youth / senior ranks.

Highlight of the match was running into Bon pre-game so he could call me a dirty turn-coat to my face. :lulz:
