Apart from his first game back (the 3-1 win over Heart) when I thought he was a bit shaky I thought he has done very well and is getting better each week. Seems to be more decisive and clinical in his decision making, which is critical for his position, as compared to last season. He was a clear 4th choice CB at the start of the season so you have to admire a player who fights his way back into the starting XI and holds his spot

+1 I think he's been rock solid the last few weeks. We've kept a clean sheet 3 out of the last 4 which he's played. And if I remember right, he saved Regan's arse a few times against the Smurfs.

Yep so typical of Jets.

Bloke on his last legs at the club gets given a chance and doesn't **** it up. Then gets given a new deal so we can spend all of next year thinking who the **** thought that was a good idea.

Surely it is high time we gave Bridges another run so we can justify giving him a new contract.

Our current form isn't down to Mitchell at all or anything to with no Regan.

For some reason the last 2 weeks our blokes have been right up for it effort wise from kick off and have wanted it more than their opponent.

Hopefully see a 3peat against the Gypos next week.

Maybe the foz should criticise these ****s for not having no ticker more often

If I recall same thing happened with Neville last season. Played like a busted arse for most of the season, put together a few decent performances and got another contract. Then played a blinder until he got injured.

Comparing him to Bridges is a bit rough. The bloke has cut the erratic brain-snaps out of his game from last year and is contributing to the side. Deserves to be considered for a new contract, although admittedly Jaliens is a bigger priority.

rof no was saying that he is going to turn it around, become one of our best players before getting injured next season and we have to play someone at CB out of position.

Because its da Jets.

Cut out the brain snaps??
I suppose his erratic marking of Sasho Ogdenovski what 2 weeks ago has been forgotten by you???

Given this bloke a new contract would be a disgrace. It basically signals to me that we are settling for second best and achieving little. The bloke has had 2 years to cement a spot and hasn't been able to do it. he is only in the side now cause for some reason Chapman has Contagious Aids or something and Taylor had a couple of shockers. Don't forget he was not considered good enough by Perth Glory before we signed him. So that is two clubs who were both shit he hasn't been able to cement a spot at

There are thousands of CD's out there who can contribute as well or better than Mitchell and are still within our wage offering. Sending him on his way is the only option

Yeah there are "thousands of CD's out there" but there is also a Salary Cap which means you can't afford to have 3 CD's of the quality of Jaliens in your squad.

Mitchell has been one of our best the last few weeks. He deserves his starting spot.

I only got to see Mitchell second half and I wasn't as convinced by him as most on here seem to be.

A few times he got in the way of his other team mates when he didn't need to. Gallaway, for example, had his bloke covered and was about to win the ball back when Mitchell came in got a touch which pushed it furthercaway from Gal. Instead of Gal breaking he now had the heart player challenging him and gave away a throw.

This happened with Mitchell and Kew. I will sit and watch the game so I can possibly get a better view and see if my opinion changes.

However I agree he's been better the last few weeks. Credit where it's due.

He's no Gallaway. Big fan, shame he keeps Regz out.
