Geez it's nice not being in these qualifiers
I'm loving these qualifiers.
Eat it gypos.
Hahahahahaha
Hail Griff!!!!
Taggz scoring too. Chef kiss
It's written in the rules that the Jets must play the Glory in this cup always. Let it now be so
Draw is currently being streamed on Football Australia YouTube.
All fluff so far - no actual draw made
These guys are fools.
An FA Cup draw show in the UK takes 15 mins.
We've drawn Adelaide (again) at home.
This is the 11th time in the competition proper we have drawn an A-League team, the 4th time we have played Adelaide.
We have lost all 3 of those matches v Adelaide previously.
Not only the two twits hosting but sitting on what looked like an old lounge with laptops on their gut with a cheap "Front Bar" set looked pathetic.
Add to that the sound issues and giggling.
We are trying to create this new football "culture" and it grates.
At least when the Scots get a drunk celeb on it only takes three minutes.....

I thought Magic park would get the gig, but gone for Maito

Bit of a buzz kill the 2 Newcastle teams play eachother.
At least one will reach the quarter finals.
Hopefully the lighting at No.2 is up to scratch. Watched a few Cup games lately that must have been borderline on the LUX scale
Been said before that No 2 is not up to TV standard. That said the TV coverage so far borders on home video quality so I don't think we will notice.
Noticed today that the game is the P+ only one that week, await FB madness from the whingers trying to find it that night.
Maybe the lights are ok.
No YT for the P+ exclusive game....

Avondale FC v APIA Leichhardt

The good thing about the P+ coverage is it is better quality (except for the commentary) and they go round the other games regularly.
Not a bad game last night between the Metrostars and Cows. Metro could have pinched it with some better finishing. One to watch out for in coming years
I thought the nunwading/phoenix game was good value.
Possible cupset brewing with Heidelberg at the moment
Another good game, Wonderers were rubbish, couldn't win with skill so reverted to diving and trying to intimidate the match officials, pathetic really. Well done to Heidelberg, deserved the win

Avondale could be the dark horse this year
Is anyone aware what would occur if a non A-League club won the cup? I assume they'd reach Asian competitions in that case, yeah?
Also be interesting if you have a Wellington/Auckland semi-final. Would mean that whoever played them in the final would reach Asia by default.
I read somewhere yesterday that the Asian Cup spot would go to the highest placed Australian A-League team.
If true and the cards fall right either Macarthur or the Jets could qualify just by making the semi-final.
For this reason I fear a Smurf win against Auckland is "guaranteed".
Haven't seen anything stipulating the Australian team must be A league. The highest placed Australian team gains entry
I thought Avondale might be the dark horse this year but after this round I'm swapping to Heidelberg. Beat Wanderers 3-0, then beat Phoenix 4-0. The impressive thing is, no goals have been scored against them. It's a tough road for the Jets from here, with the Bulls, who have won 2 of the last 3 Cups, then Avondale, who are good enough to beat some A league teams. Just glad Heidelberg are on the other side of the draw

Into unknown territory
Great weekend for watching football ahead! Nice to still be interested this late in the competition.
Motivation for this team should not be an issue - there's a spot in the cup final on the line!
So it's Heidelberg in one spot....sucks to Corica.
I quite enjoyed that match. Very tight fixture
The amount of commentators suggesting an all NPL final as a 'legitimate possibility' tells me they are all highly educated and experienced in the history of the Jets.
Should know by the end of the day where the Final will be played.
Despite their promises, the FA are yet to deliver
No news is good news ?
My guess is they're desperately trying to find a suitable venue in Melbourne.
