Terrible quality of soccer in tonight's game
Pitch was horrible.
Pretty. Scrappy game, magic had a few solid chances in first half with two great saves from Edgy keeper.
Not a bad result for either team, although Magic will be disappointed not to have capitalised on their good chances and numerical advantage.
It was quite a nice night out there, although I didn't think it was that cold until I saw the streaker. Maybe on the pitch their was more of a wind chill factor. Best part about it was we didn't have to hear his horrible mouth and that horn for the remainder of the game.
Pitch was a shocker, also surprised it was played considering edgy rarely play if there's bn rain within a wk of a game.
Not sure the ref affected the game that much, there wasn't much in it. Edgy player didn't say anything when he got sent off. I suppose there wasn't enough biff for your liking in a gf rematch/season opener?!
I have to disagree, I thought there were some pretty ordinary decisions against both sides. Ref didn't seem to have a solid grasp of the game.
No idea where your assumption of biff came from? There was enough of that between the young hooligan with the horn and the poor elderly Edgy supporter that was helped away with a bloodied nose by security with the mates of the young fella giving the old guy a spray.
Edgeworth Eagles prepare for fines and potential loss of competition points
- RSA, and continual sales of grog to intoxicated person? failed
- security- failed
- unsportsman behaviour at players during game failed
- streaking on ground during match failed
- committee and duty officers- condoning behaviour- failed
the list goes on
Too many soft fouls? Maybe you see it differently on the sideline compared to being out in the middle. Would you have preferred he let the game go a bit more? Not blow the whistle so much? He may not have ended up with 21 players on the park due to a handball in the box stopping a goal but I would have thought with the pitch the way it was and being the first game of the season he did a fair job.
Decent saves by both keepers to keep there teams in it.
The pitch is a joke
Another red for Adamstown

Finished 4-4 Buds and Jets yoof
Shane tull why would you bring innocent people in your disgraceful tyrade. To my knowledge Wright hasn't posted anything about you but can probably lower himself to your gutter level but I would suggest has far more class than you. He has moved on. The game would expect so much better and Azzurri far more successful if you buried you head up your arse.
And how did the Azzuri go last night?
Valo 2-1
This is like a high school playground sometimes. Ffs.

Olympic 2-0 HT over Jaffas
Jaffas obviously not spending anything on lower grades again
Lost 18s 4-0
Lost 20s 4-1

Jaffas 3-2 over Olympic
Jobe with the first and Pat Brown with the last two
Griff played 90 and still smarter than your average bear
First goal was a clear own goal from Olympic 13. Might have looked different from the grandstand which is why the announcer called that. Definitely didn't touch Jobe.
Olympic dominated first half. Great strike from 25 yards from Bertos tipped into the crossbar and then tapped in. Cooper burst straight through the guts to score quite a good goal.
Second half Olympic didn't offer too much but Goodchild rounded the keeper then smashed over the crossbar which would have made it 3-0. Lambton then all over them for the remained of the game.
Olympic to me looked unfit. Jaffas have been training 3 nights a week since October and simply ran Olympic into the ground. Agree with you that Olympic dominated the first half but once the match pushed beyond the 60 minute mark it was one way traffic as they sat deeper and deeper. Goes to show what a good pre season does for you
To me I thought Jaffas offered nothing in the first half as there was a complete lack of support for the 9
The subs at HT of Brown and Remington changed that.
To me Jaffas have a very good squad on paper it just a matter of Pascoe finding the right mix
Last night Waller and Hay offered little.
Remington and Brown did
By also pushing Griff wider he got on the ball more and can create for others. His speed in the body ain't what it was but he has the speed between the ears still
It only Rd 1 but those two sides be fighting it out post season for mine
Azzurri v Maitland Off
A/town v Olympic Off

Magic firing back at Edgy.
I was so confused how/why they let the streaker back in. But something I've not really seen mentioned anywhere is the fact that when the streaker was back in the field, he had 2 security guys standing right next to him (and his mates) the whole time. So if anything, to me it just seemed a waste of security resources rather than an issue. And very potentially a violation of RSA, which I would imagine is a much bigger deal than just NNSW and the clubs. But still, I personally would never have let him back in. The group of mates he was with, I have an assumption were all in a local football team together. Putting 2 and 2 together, I THINK they were all apart of a ZL3 side. They definitely knew the NewySports guy, so maybe he'd be able to shed some light. But yeah, IF they are a group and IF this streaker isn't a player, I'd bet some money that he'll be showing up to more NPL as well as whatever games his mates go to this year. So that may be worth monitoring for NNSW and the Zone Leagues, potentially.
I didn't see any of these apparent words being exchange in the players race, so can't comment there.
SURELY the bill for the FFA Cup lighting was sorted out so, so long ago. Whoever is in the wrong, it just seems ridiculous that is still going on!
Had nothing to do with the lighting bill... Magic and Mills had an agreement for ground hire before the FFA Cup... Mills reneged, deciding not to pay the full amount, his integrity shows as much class at the Edgeworth supporters that Friday night 2 weeks ago... Edgeworth will have to hire Hunter Stadium for future FFA Cup matches.
Nnswf needs to start handing out hefty fines, once again these two clubs are in the media for all the wrong reasons, time to put a stop to this northern, it's a blight on our game
ohhh Miss but he started it...
