Stockton taking no shit!
Wouldn't say that. We played good football for 35mins up 3-0 then totally shut up shop and played crap for the last 60. Good to string a few wins together. Tough next week up against in form terrace
Barnsley v Charlestown;
3rds 1-3
Res 2-1
1sts 2-3
Is this quick bloke from Charlestown still scoring there only goals? ??
Nelson Bay were very competitive in the first half yesterday. Up 1-0 early and had chances to add a second. We equalised before
HT. After HT we got on a bit of a roll and 1-1 became 4-1 very quickly. Really hope the Bay can keep this bunch of young fellas together for a few years as they have a lot of potential. Could be a very strong side with a couple of older heads sprinkled across the park.
Barnsley reminded me of the jets yesterday... they must have racked up 4 to 5 times more passes than Charlestown but there is only 1 stat that wins games. Charlestown took their chances early, sat on their lead and did the job. I'm sure that wasn't a tactic but it was the way the game panned out.
Their keeper was outstanding, he made two (that i can think of now) top class saves in the second half.
Barnsley are a bloody good team but have no goal scorers! If they had a good striker they would be much closer to the top in my opinion.
Terrace V WBay
A cold and windy day with the advantage going to the team running with the wind. Terrace had it first half and created plenty of chances. Little Quick bloke up front taking a good chance slotting a one on one and then a simple tap in. Going into half time 2 up.
Second half wind didn't change and advantage was with WBay going on the attack. They got one back and kept pushing with Terrace scrambling well in defence. Terrace had a couple of chances on the counter but ball wouldn't go over the line. WBay couldn't find the equaliser and Terrace came away with the win.
Not a bad display in the conditions.
I bet the Jesmond Rams are back at the Jesmond hotel smashing some
Of the silkiest dimsims at that low restaurant contemplating their terrible performance, I came to watch. My god I fell off my chair when that striker lame for jesmond gave the illuminati symbol in first grade after his goal my god! Surely he should go back to packing shopping bags at the local IGA in Argenton.
What was the score?
Not sure on availabilities but the best 2 Barnsley players on the park v Cooks Hill were the strikers. Bloke scored a bomb early and their pace kept us on their toes all game. Thought the service they got was average at best. Might just have been that game but didn't think there forwards were the issue!!! Just my opinion.
Also for whats it's worth that Charlestown keeper is insane. Pulled off 2 worldies i our match. We won 3-0 but he was the best player on the park. Could have been 6-7.
He plays reserve grade on the weekends because of work(and is leading goal scorer) . It's not that we dnt have ppl that can't score it's just that we are not scoring when we should be. When we have control of game but can't finish then other team gets one on counter or offside goals or stupid penalties. When it comes to the goals department the ball just doesn't seem to fall our way(if that make sense)
yeah 100% we went through a patch exactly the same last season...... we'd butcher 10-12 chances other team would get 3 and take 2. Unfortunately you've got to try and ride it out 'win ugly sometimes' and back yourselves to come out the other side. What's the old cliche "that's football". But gee when you're in that rut it's tough, good luck boys.
Thanks Terriblehatjesmondcoach for your kind and articulate words and for taking the time to create an account dedicated to what's on the head of a coach at a club you have nothing to do with. As it's your first post I can only assume yesterdays outing spurred you on to now become a valuable member of the football forum community, or you already are and have create a 2nd, 3rd or 4th account to ensure anonymity.
If you think the hat looks bad, you should smell it. It's only gets washed and rotated to a new hat after a loss.
The football Kotara v Jesmond.
3rds we apparently got what we deserved against an impressive outfit. 6-0 to home side.
Reggies a very impressive 3-0 win to the good guys. A superb hat-trick secured the win against a side always tough to beat.
1sts a pretty ordinary game to be honest. On one hand we feel a tad unlucky in that certainly had the better of the chances and more of them, however some wastefulness and more significantly, great goalkeeping kept us to 2 goals. The big fella was immense and must have got their players player. 2 errors at back gave Kotara their goals and both well taken. If being honest Kotara had a penalty shout turned down that we couldn't have complained about if was given.
All the above into consideration 2-2 probably a fair result. Good luck moving forward Kotara.
I should have clarified as just about every time there was a tackle in the box or the ball hit someone there would be a mass shout. But the one that hit the arm of our captain / left back. It was ball to arm rather than arm to ball and can be argued where his arm was, but my first thought was penalty. Rest of the shouts including the one in last kick of the game, never a penalty.
That's the one KSSFC.
I can't really agree with "pretty ordinary game". Maybe Jesmond feel that way because they didn't get the result they thought they were going to get. Kotara's 2 goals may have come from defensive errors, in saying that Jesmond's 2 goals aren't what I'd call well worked goals. Just goes to show that you have to take your chances no matter how they come about. I thought it was a pretty even game with both teams having chances to win.
Pretty much half way through the season and it really seems to be whoever wants it more on the day will walk away with points. No real easy beats.
Top 4 is going to be very tight, all games are massive at this point of the season.
Any word on the catch up game between Kotara and Terrace last night?
