I think you are going to have to accept the fact that people refer to you guys as Suburbs. People may or may not realise that it's actually Garden Suburb. But when you are referring to you guys it just makes a little more sense to write Suburbs.
I spent some time in the local history section at the library whist researching a property in Hamilton.
I stumbled on an article on the suburb.
(Some history here form LMCC)

There's a connection with the suburb and with that area down along Gordon Avenue
taking in the bus station down to Learmonth Park. The sandstone columns commemorating or marking
the original Garden Suburb are down at the Pk and are now on the corners of Gordon & Alexander + Gordon & Jenner.
(see Google Maps street view) For some reason (which is where my memory gets hazy) the columns were moved to this new area
from the Lake Macquarie locality.
I can't be sure from the article but I think when they were 1st relocated they both sat either side of Gordon Ave at the Nthn
end; either at Denison or at Tudor St before they were again moved to their current resting place at the Pk.
That's my recollection from reading it 10 or more years ago...
EDIT
After hawks post below, found this map date stamped - 4 Oct 1956!
Check out the bypass, gazetted even back then.

Dudley v Morrisett
1sts, 7-1
reserver, 8-0
3rds, 3-3
Dudley first grade 8 from 8. Looking like they may just pinch 1st place from Mayfield having results go their way.
Mayfield only need 1 win from their last 3 and its over
is the grand final confirmed for Adamstown oval on the sunday?
Yep- Sunday 11th at Adamstown Oval.
Why a Sunday, don't they know we have to work Monday
Still very interesting in all the grades:
Firsts:
Mayfield and Dudley can both still win Minor Premiership. (Mayfield would be expected to clinch it))
Suns, Cardiff, New Lambton, Swansea, Bero, Uni all still in with a shout of the final 2 semi finals spots. (Morisset can get the points but goal difference effectively knocks them out)
Reserve Grade
New Lambton, Dudley and Uni all still fighting for Minor premiership.
Mayfield, Cardiff, Swansea, Bero can all make the top 4. (Suns can get the points but goal difference effectively knocks them out)
Thirds
Uni, Dudley and New Lambton can all still get the points for the minor premiership. (Uni would be expected to clinch it)
Beresfield and Suns are the 2 teams in with a shot of the final semi final spot.
Suns can thank the 19 players from Garden Suburb who made up the Thirds/Res teams on Saturday, effectively ending their Thirds/Res hopes of making the finals.
Suns Reserves would be fuming, watching 4 players warm up, including a goal keeper, vs their 14 fresh. With Suburb scoring the winner with a minute to go.
We can't take much from this season for ourselves, but we'll certainly be looking to end peoples finals chances or form.
Winter. Summer grass. 8 games a weekend. No roller.
Both goal mouths/18's were ruined in preseason. Besides for the bobbles, it actually has more coverage this year than last year, believe it or not.
I believe the top ground (that you warmed up on) is being re-turfed in the off season and being converted into one pitch (running East/West), with plenty of space around all four ends for drills/warm up/training. With the hopeful plan of getting the main pitch re-turfed in the coming year or two.
I should post some photos of last season at this time of the year. It was akin to concrete from goal to goal with no hint of grass other than the corners. While not great, its the best the pitch has been at this time for years.
With the top ground, last off-season we received a grant to move the cricket pitch, put in fencing, new goals and some returfing (not a lot) to allow us to run the pitch east west. The dimensions of the new pitch will be identical to the bottom field. Works will start again on this in 2-3 weeks now the juniors don't need the ground. This pitch will take the load of Lance Yorke and mean we don't have to use the bottom field for pre season. We will be pumping water into it this year to get some grass growing up there. We have sought funding to top dress this ground as its a substantial figure to do the whole field. If we are successful with this, it will be done in the off season as well. The plan is to have movable training goals off the side of the pitch so training doesn't impact on the field.
We also had a soil analysis done on both grounds. Part of the main grounds issue is that is seems to have been top dressed through the middle with sand at some point. Thats why the grass struggles mid season. The sand means the grass doesn't grow properly and is more affected when stressed. We are looking to see if the funds are there to top dress this field in accordance with the remediation in the soil analysis as well as putting in new goals. If we can find the $$$ then the main field should be vastly improved next season and able to cope with the traffic.
We have learnt from the last off season though and the goals will be dismantled and put in the containers so there is no goal mouths on the bottom pitch. We will probably fence off the boxes as well.
We didn't have 14 fresh players, but that's okay. I guess if that's what you're proud of this season, then good luck to you and good luck next year. The season was over for us last weekend and technically still mathematically a possibility of making top 4 in all grades albeit extremely unlikely. All the best mate
1sts Uni 5 mayfield 2
So uhhh, New Lambton.. How is Alder Park Swimming pool looking for Saturday?
Too true mate.
We will be down their having a look this afternoon, but it was in an unplayable condition when checked last night and we were hoping for some sun and wind to help out (hasn't occurred). We will be down there again today to have a look, but slimmer and slimmer is the go currently.
New Lambton facebook has Alder Open for training so that may be a good sign?

Very poor form on behalf of the Dudley ressie player degrading someone's family during the game against mayfield today it's all good to have a bit of banter but you cross the line when you have to stoop so low as to bring someone's family into it that's very poor form.
Scores Cardiff Bero, Mayf duds?
