Today's hottest 100 can surely only be a victory for hipster haters.
Scenarios:
1. T.Swift wins and everyone dies.
2. Bruno Mars wins but the hipster presenters only refer to it as a Mark Ronson song.
3. Hilltop Hoods win and become the first artist to win both the Hottest 100 AND Kyle and Jackie O's super dooper awesome mega Pepsi Max countdown song in the same year.
Let's just hope there's tonnes of silly bushranger bearded heads exploding all over Australia some time later today.
Arrrrrggghhh gaddamnit I just realised that the 'take me to church' song will win cause it's 'such a powerful massage' about the gheys or something.
Adam D from Killswitch Engage was on The Price Is Right in America yesterday, and he won the entire thing..
Crazy stuff..

Solid band in their day.
Ex wives demanding more money or the IRS chasing them ?
That's the usual explanation for bands coming out of hibernation after this many years.
Seriously though I don't think any band in history has ever made a comeback album remotely close to the quality of their best work after ten years off - let alone 18 years or whatever it would be for FNM.
The very best bands have around ten years in them at the most and thats it. Beyond that they make so much money and live such extravagent lifestyle that they soon enough forget why they became musicians in the first place.
This is generally true..
I gotta say, i was really disappointed with their latest single "Motherfvcker".. It was ok, but kinda boring and just forced.. If any new band had released it noone would have given a crap, cause you got FNM doing it, you had fanboys whacking off in a frenzy..
I'll still be purchasing the album, as I hope they can still pull out some of the old magic.. I won't be expecting a King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime classic album though..
yeah Motherfvcker was pretty bland, and i'm a fan of their more mellow stuff like Just A Man etc.
on a different topic: i saw FKA twigs last week and she was outstandingly good, outstandingly good. I've been thrashing her album all week and it's still fantastic.
Has this been posted on here before?
If not, I know Bodi will get a bit warm on the insides if he hasn't already seen it

Pretty surprised there haven't been people posting here about Soundwave or Future.. Or any of the side shows that have been going on..
I had the luxury of getting the train to Sydney on Sat morning to attend a best mates bucks weekend, but the train ride down was a real eye opener.. Very interesting dichotomy of music fans actually..
There were two Future blokes in front of me chewing their jaws off and three metal dudes talking about arpeggios just to the right of where I was sitting..
Here is a transcript of the conversation when old-mate short-shorts made eye contact with them:
Future Guy - "Sick Metallica shirt cvnt, where you goin' to?"
Metal Dude - "Ummm.. Soundwave?"
FG - "Don't know what that is.. Whats that in the container in your hand? I've got pills in this little box here if you wanna buy some"
MD - "Its a packed lunch and sunscreen"
FG - "Can I get the plastic off your packed lunch so I can wrap me pills in it, I need to shelf em and get em into the venue???"
:sup:
I would have gone to soundwave if it was a one day event, but two days sucked arse and way too expensive for the weekend taking accomodation and getting on the cans.
Arguably the greatest thing ever ever'd

Gettin' to the Rumjacks tonight, should be good craic as it's the quasi hometown show.
Checkout their new album sober and godless.
I'm hanging out to pick up the New album on Vynil too.
Been hearing a fairly catchy song at work over the past few weeks. No idea who it was so I interneted it and Lo and behold.
It was 5 seconds of summer.
I always thought they were some sort of One Direction type boy band but they are actually a legit talented bunch of kids.
Good for them.
lol please kill yourself plague this is easily the worst thing you have ever said
Anyone else getting to the Cambo tonight to see Psycroptic and Goatwhore?
If you are in to your metal, Croppers are one of the best going round for tech death metal.. Absolutely MASSIVE in Europe and USA, not bad for some blokes from Tassie..
I'm hoping to get down there after training..
psycroptic are fkn mad, i saw them with thy art is murder at the manning bar back in december (who were also brilliant)
Oh nice man.. Thy Art Is Murder are awesome musically, but have a bit of a reputation as loose unit d!ckheads.. haha..
Back around 05/06 we played a few shows with Psycroptic and they were just awesome down-to-earth pisshead blokes.. Great times..
I've got a mate who likes to pretend he is in to metal more than me, when I asked him if he was going to the show tonight, he confirmed he would be in Sydney seeing Ed Sheeran..
We are no longer mates.. :deadhorse:
Atemlossssssssss
New song released by Between The Buried And Me recently for their upcoming album Coma Ecliptic..
A lot more melodic than previous albums, but so far I like it.. Huge Mike Patton influence in the vocals with less screaming and more clean, musically they are just ridiculous.. So many influences you could name for the prog sound they have shifted towards..

Not sure how it is that I have never seen this before, but it is brilliant..
Music might not be for everyone, but the clip is outstanding..
(Also, for a Jeterpool inspired quiz, tell me the name of the leading lady - connoisseurs of "alone-time internet research" will know, and the name of the comedian who is playing the bartender.. hahaha)

CROSS THREAD POST
So, was this Ed Miliband a distant relation to Steve Miller Band?
I.C. RIP
35 years ago today... (what's left of it)
Anyway, he dun nit in Eng-a-lud.
Still time for rememberance.
Enter Shikari this Saturday @ the UNSW Roundhouse.
Keen as.
Dave Grohl plays on with fractured leg. What a ledge. Someone here at work just said some boy band bloke got a little singe to his hair from a pyro display and they cancel the show. There's the difference.
Speaking of staged or not..
Never heard of the band John Coffey, but apparently the singer did this at Pinkpop Festival in Netherlands..

Ian Anderson ripped flute solos on one leg back in the days of Jethro Tull. A lot more complex than the Foo fighters licks you could teach a monkey in three seconds.
