I agree...thought we had a plan and we carried it out pretty well.Yeah we sat deeper against Japan but that was needed imo.At least we didnt sit deep and then just pump long balls. And a point is nothing to be sneezed at.

- Australia will:
- secure at least a 5th Round play-off spot if they defeat Jordan AND Iraq do not defeat Japan
- be unable to qualify directly if they lose to Jordan.
- Iraq will be eliminated if:
- they lose to Japan and Australia do not draw with Jordan, OR
- they draw with Japan AND Australia defeat Jordan.
no idea if it's correct or not.
Yo;
Am heading to the game next tuesday in Melbourne.
Anyone know if there are any pubs in or near Etihad that are Australian fans drinking spots?
Am talking pre-match.
Post match is sorted.
Any info greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

Jordan to notify FIFA after football coach detained at Melbourne airport
The Jordanian Football Association (JFA) says it is outraged that its national coach was detained by Customs officials at Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport.
Adnan Hamad was stopped at Customs yesterday after flying in with the team from New Zealand.
He was detained for several hours despite having a valid Australian visiting visa.
The JFA says other members of their delegation were also detained inside the airport despite having valid documentation.
The Jordanian embassy intervened in the process and Hamad was eventually given permission to proceed to the team's hotel.
The team is said to be so outraged they will contact the sport's governing body, FIFA, over the incident.
The Jordanians say Football Federation Australia (FFA) did not send a representative to meet them at the airport, according to protocol.
But the FFA says it had two representatives at the airport and it was an unfortunate incident involving Customs.
In a statement the JFA thanked the Jordanian embassy for helping the coach.
The FFA says it hopes the incident does not overshadow the crucial World Cup qualifier game between Australia and Jordan in Melbourne on Tuesday.
Good to us see us finally playing these mind games - we are growing up in the football world.
If we can't win 3 out of our 8 games we don't deserve to qualify, therefore we must win both.
TBH - I don't think we deserve a spot and although I pray I am wrong, I very much doubt we will get maximum points over the two games.
In the media, the sky will then fall......
They should have had the flight re-routed to Avalon.
have the TV ratings figures come out for the game on SBS and Fox? would make an interesting comparison.
Believe the SBS ratings were around 500k
Fox Sports 291k
