Wow!! Hope there's no games there for a while.

What on earth went on there? Looks like a Tocal Field Day not a sports field, what were the TAFE thinking??? I think it's not just a valid comment but for all the other clubs one that should be raised with Russell Henry about getting games transferred to a decent pitch until its at least semi playable again
Heard they thought having trailers and cars on a wet pitch after serious amounts of rain, was as good an idea as having the MotorCross on hunter stadium.
No you didn't, you're just a F-Wit. A lot of hard work has gone into getting Hunter Simba off the ground, and that includes resources from Northern and from Men of Football, and you're being disrespectful.
You'll protest that it isn't what you meant, but it's pretty pathetic that there is a minority within the football community that finds it appropriate to make these snide comments about the club, which in my opinion contain racist undertones. From what I understand yes, there is sometimes issues around organisation and scheduling but when you consider where some of the players have come from what the eff do you expect.
Given that with your posting history you play for Charlestown, a club that in its previous incarnation was an Italian-based club with a long history of immigrant footballers, it's both interesting and ignorant that you choose to make these comments. Though you're probably from the Charlestown United Hack side of the club.
If, judging by that photo, their pitch is well and truly gone for the season this hurts them more than any other club. A lot of their players often go to the ground for informal matches along with training, because they genuinely love football.
By the way, I'm not associated in any way shape or form with the club.
Mahk, what is being done to either repair the ground or make alternative arrangements for the club for the remainder of the season?
Edit- we aren,t going any further to save this thread
You'd have relay all new grass wouldn't you?
Sacchi super speech
Just to let you know A-Gunners doesn't have any association with Charlestown City Blues anymore, so that can be left at that.
As for calling Charlestown United "Hacks", pretty hypocritical to be making comments about someone who has said something negative towards a club, then do the exact same thing. Think before you speak.
As for the pitch, its pretty obvious that Football and the community means little to the council, about time they woke up and realised that FIELDS are not f$&king car parks.
Is Islington Pk still available? From my experience it is in better shape than the tech ground. Full size pitch, lights, parking etc
Issues with Iso Park is that it is used by HCCF every Saturday.
Simba could play there on Sundays, but I don't know how that would work with the draws. Plus, given that NCC has already handed out ground allocations for the year, I'd imagine it would tough to go to another club and say, we're gonna force you to let another 3 teams of competitive players play on your ground every second week, plus allow them to train 2 nights a week as well. And I don't think Islington Park has lights either? Most clubs struggle to keep their grounds in reasonable nick throughout the winter with their own teams playing and training on it, let alone another 3 teams.
If they're looking for free grounds, Cook Park is free, having been vacated by Fletcher-BTAC.
Iso Park is out as it has no sheds and therefore not suitable for Zone League games
Also Olympic do use the ground for training and junior games. There Zone League team plays out of Connolly park as Iso Park does not meet the standards to play zone league games
I'm not sure those rules apply anymore as league 3 teams will find out when travelling to RAAF. We played there on Sunday and there where no dressing sheds for the away team (not.sure about home team as they came from other side of field but would think they have something) All that was there was a small covered area. ( not much good when it rains like it did when we where there) Was told there was a canteen but never saw it. And if by chance your name Is not on a list you Must give them before the game u must do a 15min induction.
Happy to be corrected but I thought that Simba's field was actually under the TAFE grounds, like MacDougall field over on the other side of the grounds? If that's the case I can perhaps understand why this has occurred as the TAFE Admin would simply see it as a chance to increase income and not have the same outlook/attitude towards the space as the Council does a public park.
It is becoming apparent within NCC and LMCC areas there needs to be a big review of open space uses.
The people in charge of Newcastle TAFE are clueless about sport, sporting facilities or sporting fields. I wouldnt be surprised if they didn't know that grass are plants. However, they try to be as helpful as possible at the same time worrying about NSW TAFE's money issue. If they can help they will do anything, as long as it doesn't require a large some of money.
My suggestion is to put goal posts on the inner field (**** the knights juniors and their contract to use it exclusively), and use that for matches until No 2. Oval can be rebuilt. Notice i said rebuilt instead of repaired. This is why:
