Yeah bud. So far so good and that’s just with the Beta version. Apparently the app comes out in the next week or so. Early days but I’m a fan. The split screen option and the (similar to Optus) mini match thing also good. I’d probs wait for the app though. Casting and all that works no dramas
So basically its the foxtel sports package for $25 a month?
And you can chromecast it?
If so, I'm in and can forget about the myfootball app.
The email says:
And for your big screen TV, Kayo is available on Apple TV or you can stream it via Chromecast Ultra or Chromecast 3 rd Generation devices.
Recently bought an Nvidea Shield. Only set top box that Stan, Netflix, Amazon Prime and it's Android, so Kayo should be fine.
Foxtel just about to go from my monthly bill
Germany come to senses 2020 i think no more monday night games in the Bundesliga... power to the fans not the tv companies...
We got rid of the monday night tv game in switzerland in the second division. Moved to friday night which is ok.
Clubs in 2nd division can then say apart from friday night game what time kickoff on saturday and sunday...
1st division has only 2 playing slots... Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. fix.
yet they show all of the 1st division games on paytv. (channel conference and a channel per game) sunday 1 game is ¨free to air¨
Anybody else just witness the most bizarre match edit in history?
Waiting for Matchday Saturday and a little surprise - Jets v City final highlights - nice I thought.
Showed highlights of the first half, mainly all the City bits. Then went straight to the 84th minute - no Jets goals, not even McGree's.
The City miss right at the death, fulltime, end.
What was the point?
Currently just doing a test on watching HAL via other means
YouTube has coverage of HAL games live for people in countries around the world with no coverage on normal or satellite tv
So just signed in with a VPN via Taiwan and I am watching the coverage via YouTube with shitty Kiwi commentators and all
VPN is much cheaper than both
a Foxtel
b MyFootball App
Watched our first Sydney game last season oveseas on Youtube....very passable and the VPN is a good idea.

a somewhat interesting article on tv ratings/crowd figures across a number of sports.
So much of that is right and it is the governance of each sport that is at fault.
Constant rule changes, inconsistent scheduling, television coverage across several mediums, over zealous security, decline of organic support, priority of "family friendly entertainment", franchises and nicknames reducing identity.
When they find a good thing it gets flogged to death. Long time fans are getting sick of being treated like mugs to cater for the plastic fans who change support like the weather.
I think it will be hard to turn around.
It's all true... but I believe the main problem is the quality of football.
I think most Australian football fans follow the EPL, and they probably refuse to fork out for tickets, memberships etc to watch something 2 levels below.
NRL and AFL are "local" sports, so there is no comparison with other leagues.
I point out to every coach that comes along and , after going ahead, instructs his team to dive and roll around theatrically and time waste that all he doing is shooting himself in the foot as he won't have a job soon the way the ratings are heading.
Sure the administration of the game is shite but the standard of the game is rather gash if you compare to 5-10 years ago.
As noted my earlier post was about all sports - not just football, which has always been a few levels lower than EPL.
BBL is a great example, you are seeing quality players but many traditional cricket fans have switched off already and now they have ramped it up to saturation level the plastics are looking at alternatives.
The A-League was going OK until they smacked down active support and tried to make it "BBL like", moved away from a straight forward draw and stuffed up VAR implementation.
Mark Bosnich on the foxtels tonight calling for a lengthy suspension for Gypo Simon after his ref abuse.
Was pretty scathing considering the gypo is one of the players who gets a pass from his mates on the desk (gypo McBreen still refers to him as 'Simmo' on the telecast).
Reminds me of the 'Muscy being Muscy' bullshit we had to endure all those years ago when that dickhead was blowing peoples knees out.
That gypo sympathiser Miller then went on to crap on about the 'frustration' Gypo Simon and his teammates would be feeling..........but Bozza was having none of it.
bout time someone called out that gypo scumbag.
Bozza and McBreen didn't get suspended for saying the F bomb by Fox either....

i'd say this would be worrying for FFA and the a-league.

Myself and a lot of others have long ago cancelled their fox subscriptions. Way too expensive for minimal delivery.
Not great for the A-League's coffers, but I think the medium is dying a slow death.
Kayo & other streaming platforms will slowly start taking up some of the content in the coming years as Foxtel continues to decline.
Never had Fox, Home games I attend and away games I go to wests
Foxtel owns Kayo.
They saw the writing on the wall years ago and know their non-sports content will eventually be taken back by their rights holders for their own streaming platforms (HBOgo, Disney+ etc). The future for foxtel is live sports via streaming.
It' (eventually) will be cheaper and more efficient to run vs traditional satellite/cable tech.
The A-league will be fine. Someone will always have room on a platform for some garbage.
