Carney would be a brilliant signing.
Us. I will laugh at anyone who tries to tell me he's not a good player, especially for the Jets ffs.
Only thing is I would want it to be for more than just till the end of this season, otherwise it's pretty pointless.
so your fine with signing a player on a multi year deal before we even know who is coaching us next year, I think it could create a whole new GVE type affair of not his players, no squad or salary cap to move, does not suit my system etc etc
also as its the end of a world cup cycle I'd like to save some cap & squad spots for visa and marquee spots for any players who might miss out & may be up for a move after the world cup
Can't stand carney but anythings an improvement on that gallagay character
Just hope he's no longer got that bad habit of ball watching in the dying stages of big games.
Definitely happy to see Carney sign on. We can't rely on youth in every position & considering how shit we've been with FBs, we've instantly rectified a problem area. Well done Jets.
Carney is shit overseas and at international level but is more than adequate(compared to others we have) at a-league level. Although he cops a lot of stick at left back I'd put him there and leave goody up the wing, with kew inside carney there shouldn't be too many errors. He will get caught out getting too far forward and this is where we need kanta who is good at reading who is out of position and slotting in, zads will have to do it in the meantime.
Good passer, powerful shot, and adequate defensive ability - Carney is a brilliant signing for the Jets. He will make a massive difference both in attack and defence.
Yay some actual experience in one of our full-backs.
For the record, never rated Carney highly as LB for our national team but for the Jets is definitely an improvement.
This reminds me of Milligan signing a few years ago. He'll do good for the rest of the season then piss off again
no way would i play a player of carneys quality (in the a league) at LB, i would play him at LM.
goodwin has been better the last 2 weeks but still no where near as good as he was at the start of last year.
seriously don't understand why they don't just play him at LB, he is more than fit enough to get back up and down the field and a player of carneys quality would have him in good positions when he received the ball.
I remember how good Carney was at LM/AM for Sydney back in the day. He was terrific.
But I can't help but notice how much lack of playing time/changing of the league/etc made Nathan Burns, who killed the league back in the day, not even convince his own supporters that he was quality this year. So particularly seeing as though Carney is older, has had limited playing time, etc - I'd be giving him runs at LB before "rushing" him into attacking positions.
I don't know..
I just found out my g/f was "pash-attacked" by Carney at Pingers a few years ago, before I knew her..
I can't help but have this horrible feeling that if I do get serious with her and we decide to have a child, that it might come out with aggressive red hair, small hands and smelling like cabbage..
Sydney signed Sasa Ognenovski
You do realise that you must now sacrifice her to Griffo to now pash her (or whatever it takes) and exorcise the demons ?
New Gypo btw...

Who is he??
Kim Seung Yong
I also read somewhere that the gypos got Bosnar… has anyone else heard that?
Yeah that's correct along with Glen Trifiro (some bloke from the NSW NPL Sydney United) and there rumored to be close to signing Isaka Cernak.

Mooy, free at end of this season. Wouldn't mind him in a Jets shirt.
NEES TO GET HIS DRIVERS LICENCE FIRST.
needs to get his liscence first - apparently nan drives him to training
sorry for shouting
I don't know about Mooy. He can't defend like Kanta, he doesn't cover as much ground as Rubz, and he doesn't have the mongrel of Brillante.
Moreover, Mooy rarely scores and he's not exactly a playmaker in the mould of a number ten either. His passing game is ok but it's not great.
The fact that WSW are not throwing coin around to keep him suggests they don't rate him.
Slater and Harper seem to wank on a lot
over Mooy, so much so that the 321 votes read del piero, sainsbury, mooy not in any particular order, and that is Bribane v Perth. Haha. Over rated, yes.
I think he's more comfortable on the ball than any of the midfields we you listed Dunster, and probably better as well in terms of passing / vision.
Having said that he doesn't really fit a well defined role, he's definitely not a box to box midfielder as he doesn't have anywhere near the workrate of Kanta / Zad however I do think you underestimate his tackling etc.
He's closer to a playmaker but doesn't really suit that either.
Although I do like him as a player I see him as a luxury player and don't really want him in our team.
Edit: don't think he suits our style or our philosophy
Edit 2: having said that, I'd take Mooy over Kanta.
Sarkies
Pirlo. Make it happen Tinks.
