When was the last time we missed out on a target?
Cornflakes and the Spanish holding mid.

Rumour is on 442 forum Ameobi has signed on as Perth's marquee.
Geez we missed an opportunity there !
Imagine Dave from Newcastle moving down here, like....
If you compare the rosters holding mids of the perspective clubs, Paartalu makes the most sense at the Jets
Melbourne Victory
Valeri
Milligan
Broxham

Sydney FC
Dimitrijevic

@NewcastleJetsFC offer former @gomvfc player Billy Celeski a contract, believed to be approx. $125,000. #SST
Linked with Portaloo, end up with Celeski. That's more like the Jets off-season we are expecting!
celevski was one of the better players for victory in his last year there.
i wouldn't be upset if we got him but yes a step down from partaluu
Soccer Stoppage Time have very little credibility with these predictions. Seems like we have some options which is good with the lure of a starting position that other clubs' can't offer.
Yeah but looking at those teams and their options at DM with the exception of Victree Paartalu would be the best DM by a long way at those clubs so no point ruling them out.
It would be a bit bizarre for Victree to want to sign him considering they have Valeri and Milligan as options on big coin
Thats my point though.
- Victory wouldn't have wasted considerable money on Valeri plus Milligan,
- WSW have used foreign places on 2 holding mids,
- SFC only have 2 spots left (1 earmarked for a marquee and 1 has to be an U21),
- MC have their captain and one of their biggest off season recruits.
Plus if you are Paartulu and walking away from 500k contract only because Ange has told you to play in Aust, you want to be sure to get game time. IMO the Jets are the best fit for both the player and club.
That means he is guaranteed to go elsewhere of course ;-)
For me, Paartalu > Celeski.
However, Celeski is less likely to leave and look to go overseas again unlike, I think, Paartalu. Maybe that's because of his age. Maybe because of his ability. Either way, thats less disruption, more stability and of course not someone we may need to replace midseason.
He's had a significant knee injury in the past I think too.
I guess if we signed him I wouldn't be able to abuse him anymore.
I always liked celeski for some reason, always thought he had a bit to offer. So i wouldnt be unhappy with this signing but i still think paartalu would be better.
Celeski wouldn't be a bad second prize. With such a low ball offer though you would think the leaking of this to SST is more for Paartalu's manager than anything.
I still believe Kanta will give either players a run for their money.
Milligan was complete shit when he played for the Jets. Why would we want to sign Celeski given that Melbourne Victory rate him worse than Milligan ? It makes no sense.
Be an interesting choice between Celeski arriving next week vs Paartalu arriving in December
If he can't make it till December that's where you would have Kanta fill the spot till he gets here
If Paartalu couldn't come until December, I'd love to see us have the initiative (looooooooooooooooooooooooooooool) to guest stint/loan a Celeski type player until Erik came in.
Wonder if he could start immediately after the Thai season or made to wait until Jan 15 ala Griffo this year
So this club rep not naming names but lets just put the initials RM down as a code to keep people guessing who it really is is discussing details of possible player transfers in public to be over heard by anyone??
Top shelf work that.
With professionalism like that RM will surely be heading up an EPL Bundesliga or La Liga club in the near future
