Red tide!!!
Magic were just a bit too strong. Some nice finishes as well. The Pies got one back but the day belonged to Magic. 5-1 was the full time score.
South Cardiff Vs Jets Youth
First Grade: 3-3. Jets looked like they could've gone to the cleaners when they were up 3-1. Nothing was falling into place for Southy who had a few good chances. Southy dug in got some goals back to make it 3-3 and looked the more likely to get a winner.
23s: Southy 3- 2. Southy came home hard after GVE's gave up a 2-0 lead. (GVE: "I wish he'd have scored then to punish you for that bad decision") How he is in control of our Elite Youth astounds me after listening to him.
19s. Jets 2-1? maybe.
Additional point, the fact a Club Referee is being used in NPL U19/22s to run lines is ridiculous
Weston 2-1 Lambton. Jaffas led one-nil but home side got the points. Got this off BarTV, anyone know result at Hamo v Edgy
Actually just saw on SportingPulse, Hamo won 2-0
And how would you fix this problem? State league refs need to have at least 1 centre across the NPL, NEWFM, WPL, and ZLs. That's 35 refs needed for just 1st grade alone. You add 2 assistants, there's 105 refs for first grade, throw in lower grades, and thats a lot of refs, which state league simply doesn't have.
And you can't have the junior branches filling in, their first responsibility is to the junior comps, junior NPL/WPL and NEWFM 17s.
Van egmond was embarrassing, half time and full time, the kids would have been embarrassed, it was bad
Amen. Clubs need to look at themselves for the answer here. Go watch a neutral NPL match day and see the crap dished out. Either clubs are happy to pay the refs more or they need to assist by providing club referees. Ground officials are almost a waste of time. Unless someone else can come up with a better logic?
So the Maitland bandwagon is over already??
There is a huge gap between NPL and New FM
Yesterday watched Lakes v Valo and for two of the better teams in New FM from what I seen skill wise would finish last and second last by a long way if the NPL was expanded to include them and the other 10 NPL teams now.
Maitland may well make the grade at NPL level but they are gonna be severely tested week to week not like last season when they can roll up and thump teams before knuckling down and working hard to battle past Valo. Their players are not gonna find the same success and are gonna be tested and exposed from time to time
You obviously weren't at the gane champ. Maitland bossed the first half completely. Magic barely got a touch in the middle of the park. Scored two opportunistic goals. Second one a cracker from faj.
Maitland never recovered and magic finished brilliantly. Never seen a score line so unreflective of a game though.
What'd he do?[/QUOTE
Halftime he yelled so loud it was heard all over the ground, at full time he sat the boys down and yelled and screamed obscenities at them, I call it abuse, them man is a disgrace, it's not about winning Garry it's about losing with honour,
Unfortunately we should be able to expect more from this guy (behaviour wise) in his role with the EJ and due to his background. I have also personally witnessed him involved in mocking opposition junior players and kids who used to look up to this guy are now seeing the ugly side of football management displayed by him. http://www.newcastlefootball.net/for...ies/wanker.gif
.
as for bossed the game vs magic. no game is won in the first half. yes you guys competed well first half but magic showed there quality and took a quick 2 goal lead befor the break. then magic pretty mucH BOSSED the second half.
before you try and reply your argument read the paper and listen to the mailtland coach. even he new the true indication of the game.
Isn't there someone who can do something about the treatment of these young men ,if we as a parent talked to our children in that way we would be reported to .... ,GVE is just another coach in the NPL and these guys don't train their butts off to play bad I'm sure they do their best ,young men at this age have enough going on in their lives and they want to enjoy playing football without abuse I'm sure , his abuse could psycologically ruin the enthusiasm of these talented young men , I think a public apology to all his players is warranted and he needs to re consider his position if he finds it too stressful and not enjoyable.
Thanks for the blog support guys. Was going to reply last night but couldn't get onto the site all night and today for some reason. Maybe I went over the post limit yesterday haha.
On an unrelated note I am yet to see Connor Evans in any of the match highlights for Blacktown this season.
It's always about winning. Every club wants to win. Some clubs are financially stronger and are able to acquire the better players. That being said, the purpose of the points system was to minimise that and it has failed miserably (Adamstown have bought in 10 new players and are still under - I'm not saying it's a bad thing either). The reality is that if you promote both Lakes and Valentine and have no relegation you are still going to have the massive gap.
Meeting tomorrow to decide on if games will go ahead. My opinion is that they'll try to get all the games to go ahead, but given Darling St and Edden Oval, amongst others, are already off, they'll play it at Speers Point.
It's obviously costly to be promoted to Npl from new fm and I don't think you can achieve all your clubs goals in one year I would like to see both valentine and lakes in the Npl and no relegation, I think this would see less movement of players, players won't have to chase that Npl spot of there club is relegated more positions with more teams in the Npl for our up and coming juniors but of course if a club becomes unfinancial make the offer to the club at the top of the new fm comp to join the Npl.
I've heard council closed all Newcastle grounds until &including the 26/4
Heard today that edgy v magic is definitely on tomorrow night. Can anyone confirm, zico or cobra?
Northern have given it back to the clubs decide... and will not postpone the entire round.. normal wet weather protocol
Ulinga will be good to go, forcast suggest lots of sun, fingers crossed
Well that means that Jaffas whoever and Adamstown Olympic are off then, unless Adamstown isn't council owned?
Very busy drain system as you could imagine, but sometimes one can only handle so much at one time
