Kayo is terrific for options. They need to improve their servers mug I like optus needed to last world cup

I never really watched them, but Redwah mentioned to me today the three EPL club tv channels on Foxtel are gone, overnight.
Was announced a while ago now - Fox says they want to divert their attention to their "premium" sports. It also admits they lost their war with Optus as they hooked into those channels (Spurs/Man C/Arsenal TV are gone too), to try to keep EPL fans happy.
A shame - although I don't support any of the big 6 I enjoyed dipping them when nothing else was on.
the fact that there was so little on Foxtel meant I ended up watching the Liverpool channel
it was when I realised how little I actually cared about Sami Hyypiä's post football life that made me get rid of foxtel and save $80 a month
I signed up for the football and a league, stayed for GOT, and now Chernobyl isn’t really lighting my life on fire like some, so I think this is where my Foxtel ends.
Might sign up for Kayo though. Does anybody have Kayo?
no but all my friends that have switched over say its dope.
you can run that, or if you still want Fox for the HBO stuff etc just get basic Foxtel Now streaming and its like $30 a month, Kayo is about the same, but if you have a mate go halves (you get 2 devices on Kayo) and have one each.
i do Foxtel Now with sports added on and its like $50 a month or something.
My mother was all "oh but we need Foxtel so I can finally watch The Wire" and that seems like a great reason because The Wire is probably the best TV show of all time. When you can buy the 5 season boxset for the cost of a month's Foxtel though, that reasoning kind of falls over.
Kayo + Optus for about the same price as monthly Foxtel without any inclusions then adding Netflix and Stan is still cheaper than an all in Foxtel bundle to cover everything.
**** Foxtel.
Yeah that's where we will all end up anyway.
Stan will disappear once Disney+ comes along (That will also include ESPN), and HBO go will see the end of foxtel.
Kayo + Optus will cover lost of your sport for the future anyway.
Has Matriarch Brem not seen The Wire yet?
You gotta be a good son here and sort that out.
Whatchu sayin bout ma mama!?!?
Can confirm, she has not either.
not quite TV but the newspaper had an A-League preview today and out of the 10 experts (well, those journos left who give a toss about the A-League) they asked, not one had the Jets in the top 6.
8 out of 10 had the Phoenix to get the spoon.
1 (Bozza) didnt answer.
The other, a certain former coach of this trash club, picked us for the spoon.
Kozzie still drinking the haterade after all these years.
made me smile.
Saturday evening A-League in HD on ABC. This is dizzy stuff.
Shame the Mariners had to be involved, but at least did the right thing and lost.
Just checking now....no A-League review show on a Monday night? Looks like they are just showing mini matches.
I like the mini matches
yeah studio shows down to a minimum, even down to the pundits they have on air being more local so they dont have to pay for flights and accom for any extra people.
The new Fox guy wants no part of sockah, the clubs might want to hope hes not there when the new TV deal gets done.
Even the CEO said as much on the podcast, the money coming from Fox is in dire jeopardy (my words not his). The clubs need to get real smart real quick with the negotiating tactics and ability to take a risk on new platforms.
I be interested to see how this pans out
Viewership on all sport is down drastically and we are one of the last beggars at the table
I backing whatever scenario we end up with these players are gonna face some drastic pay cuts
About ducking time too
I agree that the Fox contract will be an issue. But hopefully the clubs get creative esp with the online rights. Most new startups are begging for content. Theres money to be made as live sport are still the most coveted rights out there.
i cant see wages/salary cap being an issue though. The clubs will jsut allow more competition from sponsors, they'll allow owners to spend more of their own cash anyway, which most seem more than happy to do (Tony Sage has been leading this for 10 years).
Once they start earning money from transfers between clubs and utilising that asset as well, then smart teams will go closer to running their clubs like the rest of the world.
What does Kayo Sports run like ? Is it smooth as far as framerate goes or is it choppy / lagging.
I have 100mbit connection with a 5ms latency
MyFootball app is now 6.99/month (was 4.99/week last year if i remember well)
Having used both I prefer Kayo
i love seeing people bitching about how poor the quality of the a-league is and then actively finding ways to further undermine it by looking for ways to get it for free.
But you see this is their own stupid fault anyway
I tried playing ball and bought the My Football app
Besides the shitty screen size limits they gave me they region locked the thing and even though I had paid for the thing because I had left Oz I wasn't able to use my purchase when O/S
So the simple solution to get around their consumer failure was to get a VPN to watch it whilst O/S
Problem is that same set up will work whenever I am in Oz and I can watch it on YouTube and bring the thing up to my full screen size as well
So their ****ing stupidity region locking me out of it has now come back to bite them on the arse when I cancelled My Football app
Optus Sport has locked me out of my phone because I have put a new OS in it - so I pay for the rights but am not allowed to use my device of choice because it no longer contains Optus bloatware.
Bring back VHF ffs.
It's almost like Optus have zero broadcast rights in other countries.
This is what I get sitting here at home....

even though i gave myself over to our Lord and Saviour Griff long long ago praise Griff for inventing the Google Chromecast, for it has made my life even easier than it already was.
Hail Griff.
Griff.
Has Griff found a way to cast from the MyFootball app?
