I’m sure a midweek game the beers aren’t flowing

Interesting to note that Lakes disabled comments on their post regarding the postponement. Why would you bother if you had nothing to hide?
Time for Northern to show some governance
Interesting results over the weekend. 5th spot is definitely up for grabs.
How will the top 5 end up? Who misses out?
Should be an exciting last few weeks of games and a very tight finals series ahead. It could easily be an outsider winning the GF this year!
Weekend predictions?
Jaffas 4 - 1 Rosebuds
Cooks Hill 2 - 2 Edgeworth
Azzurii 3 - 1 Valentine
Olympic 1 - 1 Maitland
Weston 2 -1 Lakes
Jaffas 3-0
Edgy 2-1
Azzurri 2-1
Maitland 3-1
Weston 3-0
Was at Lisle Carr today and many will say Azzurri going down to 10 with Matt Tull ( deservedly) sent off midway through 1st half was the major reason and no doubt it was but up to the send off Valo out played Azzurri and looked the stronger side. Azzurri in dangerous ground now, with the depth of squad available if Azzurri don’t make play offs or do something in finals, questions have to be asked and should Graham Law survive ? I would think not. As he had to do better with the players at his disposal.
Thoughts ?
Although I believe he has been resigned for 23?
Something definitely not right up there but maybe look at the players instead of the coach. Their last two must win games, against Magic and Valo, and you have Taylor against Magic and Tull today against Valo, both getting sent off in the first.
Very poor from two senior players
Article in the herald today reporting Hamilton kicked out of Lake Macquarie
https://www.newcastleherald.com.au/s...e-race/?cs=305
Quote:
Lake Macquarie informed the Newcastle Herald after the match that Keelan Hamilton would not be continuing as head coach for next season.
"This has been a mutual decision that has been respectfully and well thought through by both parties," the statement read.
"Both the club and Keelan wish each other all the best for the future and although these decisions are never easy, the professional and amicable nature of communications is a testament to both parties. An announcement on the incoming first team head coach for 2023 will be made in due course."
Seems a strange one to me, obviously results would be a key factor here, but he was on a hiding to nothing, from the outside looking in he had no players or money to work with. And as it is given one season to perform a miracle.
Can someone tell me why the Jets no longer play a trial against a NNSW NPL select team. They use to do it years ago but seems to be no longer the case.
I only ask because I noticed on the news last night that the Jets are playing a trial against Coffs Harbour Allstars this weekend.
Who would everyone's 11 be from Nnsw.
4 3 3
Pearce Olympic
Wilson Magic
Thomas Maitland
Papas Jaffas
Ensor Magic
Cowburn Valo
Pepper Cooks Hill
Wells Magic
Muller Olympic
Crowley Maitland
Thompson Maitland
This weeks predictions
Jaffas 2 - 0 Charlestown
Maitland 2 - 2 Edgeworth
Cooks Hill 1 - 2 Magic
points table afterwards
Jaffas 40
Magic 38
Maitland 37
Charlestown 33
Olympic 31
Valentine 31
Edgeworth 30
Weston 26
Cooks Hill 15
Adamstown 8
Lake Macquarie 7
Very interesting last round of games
Jaffas vs Maitland
Lakes vs Magic
Olympic vs Weston
Cooks Hill vs Adamstown
Edgeworth vs Valentine
Jaffas 2 - 2 Charlestown
Maitland 2 - 1 Edgeworth
Cooks Hill 1 - 3 Magic
Jaffas v Maitland play the following weekend for the title.
And Edgeworth and Valentine play each other for a finals spot. While Olympic could finish 4th or miss out on finals depending on result over Weston as well as other results.
So top 3 locked in but next 2 final spots between Charlestown, Olympic, Valentine and Edgeworth anybody's guess. Could come down to for and against with Azzuri and Olympic having substantial lead over other 2.
Piggo as the new Lakes coach for next year. What are peoples thoughts
Newcastle herald article
Me neither. Just googled Steve Piggot Lake Macquarie and the first thing that came up was the Herald Article.
The line that I was able to read for free was “ Northern NSW NPLM strugglers Lake Macquarie have unveiled veteran head coach Steve Piggott as the replacement for Keelan Hamilton.”
So I guess, that’s where it has been confirmed.
