That sale was for the club only, not the license. That's a separate sale and obviously hasn't gone through yet for whatever reason.

Actually, that is a valid point.
These posts have been pretty informative. Thanks for bringing your knowledge to the table - not an area I am familiar with. I'm really going to press this next week (unless an announcement has been made in the interim).
Jeterpool:
1: How should we pronounce your handle?
2: I recommend against using Facebook.
Definitely going to be this week guys!
Noticed that membership packages are up (but not advertised).......

A business associate of mine from Melbourne was told that it would be finalised and announced late last week.
Surely that means it will be this week !
I just love how Shane?s keeping the members in the loop, he is such a great CEO, here for the people 🤦*♂️
An announcement this afternoon - just received Member's email.
An announcement about an announcement.
I love these times.
Announcement: we're changing the team colours to red and blue
Is this an official pre announcement to the announcement or just Shane announcing there will be an announcement in due course and sometime before Christmas ?
Maverick Sports Partners confirmed as the new owners.
Maverick Sports Partners out!
Great news!
Apologise to Shane you jerks.
Oh for ****s sake.

The change of ownership and licence approval is subject to successful completion of the necessary approval processes by the Australian Professional Leagues and regulatory processes by Football Australia, including the fit and proper person tests conducted by Football Australia.
Not quite done yet, the last paragraph of the press release:
Until that?s approved, I?m not getting my hopes up.Quote:

Edit: Dammit Bel 😂
Let us begin the quest for Jet Shaped Hats
Probably pull out in a week when the APL tell the clubs they got to give them 0.5mill and not the other way around.
Confirmed - we play in gold.
Apologise you cowards.
I have a bad feeling about this.
Justin Pascoe from the West Tigers is part of the Maverick consortium, god give us strength

Fire away....
He threw me when he mentioned "Rob and Ryan".......
Seems reasonably well spoken, and they're really pushing the community engagement/sustainability which in theory makes sense IF we get the support outside the rusted on 5-6k.
Anyone figure any owner names out from the business he dropped at the end? Spartan, Tough Mudder and Deka? The owner of Spartan is some yank named Joe De Sena, so surely not him as he specifically mentions Sydney and Melbourne. Some guy called Russell Nelms is CEO/MD of those brands in the sydney region so could be him?
Some guy called Lee Hagipantelis (boss of Brydens lawyers) is in amongst it apparantly.
Also, Conroy got involved, things got done. I'm telling ya, the bloke is a head kicker and will get it going. People aren't gonna like him, and we usually get all offended when blokes like him are involved and freeze him out so no doubt we'll all shoot ourselves in the foot again.
Might end up with a sponsor though, and good rates on legals when it all goes up in smoke again.
A win/win.
Thanks Griff for getting the deal done.
Now, apologise to Shane you cowards.
GRIFF!!!!!!
5:34 Maurice pats Shane on the back and says "Shane's made some promises I'm keeping him to"
Interesting !
I think keeping Shitshow in charge just shows that nothing will change except the owners, they want members to come back with the same shit management, good luck with that. And lets have another facespace poll to decide the playing strip
I would think he has some KPI's that are absolutely non negotiable's. If the last 3 years have taught us anything Shane is not the person to be the face of the club off the field from the administrative side of the club. He's never looked comfortable dealing with the average punter when he has " had " to. I still remember the day he was walking over to the Eastern side of the ground at the Southern end and a few in the crowd called out to say g'day and he done what appeared to be his best to make out he could not hear them. I could be mistaken but unless he is tone deaf in the right ear then i am putting money on he heard them.
Anyway we now have overlords who have a different challenge for Shane from the last 3 years where he claimed his role was to get the club in a salable state to one now of leading the club to better times on and off the pitch. Be interesting too see how he manages the new job description.
Just my thoughts.
