Why this thread hasn’t already been renamed Cardiff ft ZL1 I will never know
Updated end of season ladder prediction from what I've seen so far:
1. Croatia
2. Mayfield
3. Swansea
4. Suns
5. Kotara
6. Uni
7. Olympic
8. Stockton
9. Cardiff
10. Warners Bay
11. Westlakes
12. Azzurri
I disagree with this, been solid for a newly promoted team. What I will say is Cardiff vs Westlakes in a couple of weeks may be just as interesting in the grand scheme of things.
Will Croatias latest big name be starting tonight? No doubt will be a frosty reception for him as someone on the forum mentioned he turned down Cardiff who offered a large sum of money to sign him. It wouldn’t surprise if this game has a few cards in it
Score updates?
Money growing on trees at Pasadena, Cowburn and the referees added to the pay roll tonight.
Cardiff robbed.
Any scores from tonight?
What happened? Please explain
Stockton 3-6 Uni
Cardiff 2-3 Croatia
Two blatant penalties not awarded. Competitive game nonetheless.
If they weren?t penalties I?m not sure what is. If Croatia were honest they would say they got away with one. I think Croatia with that team should win the comp. The only thing that will stop them is the fact they can?t keep a clean sheet. It would be interesting how many they have kept in their 3 years back. I reckon they would be lucky to have kept more than 5.
I do like the attitude of if the opposition score 3 they back themselves to score 4 makes entertaining viewing.
Cardiff 2 Croatia 3
Both teams had a penalty saved. Both great saves, not poor penalties.
Very competitive game. Not as physical as I expected. Skilled, fast, and end to end.
Cardiff missed some gilt-edged chances in the first half and almost pinched a draw with a late shot against the base of the post, but the score is a fair reflection of the game
As a neutral, a very entertaining game.
NPL ref in the middle tonight. I wonder how much more often that will happen this season in ZPL
Squadi is showing 9-2 Kotara over Westlakes. Nothing showing from Stocko
Kotara against Croatia has to be match of the round this weekend. Kotara press hard for the full 90 and I won’t be surprised if they are the first to grab points from the Croats this season
Cardiff aren't a bad team they just don't quite understand what it takes to win. In big moments they go hiding, they are the Arsenal of ZL1.
Round 4 Predictions
Mayfield 5-2 Warners Bay
Suns 3-1 Swansea
Kotara 2-2 Croatia
Stockton 1-2 Cardiff
Olympic 2-4 Uni
Westlakes 3-3 Azzurri
Interesting to note that no team has been kept goal-less after 2.5 rounds.
A lot of games to watch this weekend:
A strong start for Kotara could come to an end as they look to upset the competition favourites.
Cardiff have there best opportunity to get points on the board, always a tough away day at Corroba.
The relegation battle: Westlakes v Azzurri
Round 4 Predictions
Mayfield 4-0 Warners Bay
Suns 1-1 Swansea
Kotara 1-3 Croatia
Stockton 0-1 Cardiff
Olympic 3-1 Uni
Westlakes 2-1 Azzurri
Rd 4
Mayfield 5-1 Warners Bay
Suns 3-1 Swansea
Kotara 3-1 Croatia
Stockton 2-4 Cardiff
Olympic 2-2 Uni
Westlakes 3-2 Azzurri
I think Mo is looking for a bite here. From all reports Cardiff played a good game last night and were unlucky not to atleast grab a point.
Even though they played at home, but the first 3 games weren't easy games. At least they play an easier team this weekend who wasn't meant to win a game all year.
Admin just change this thread to Cardiff City Tigers since it is all members speak on. Absolutely ridiculous. I’ve never seen a team 0/3 get talked up so much
Croatia in my opinion should invest 10-15k on their backline. May as well do it now so they have it ready for NPL in 2 years
Think you will find they will be returning home to Wickham Park next year… as they should
Croatia need a full blown JDL and PYL system to play in NPL... All good they can pay the under 9s
Cardiff looking like a team that could make the progression to a top 4 ZL1 team if they work on their fitness and communication.
The early relegation battle between Stockton and Cardiff should be interesting this weekend.
