Although having said that I wish it was around in the Brisbane/Perth GF a few years back.
The experiment would have ended that day and stamped never to return.
Agree with those who say human error has always been part of the game. No matter how they try and implement it, replays will halt the progress of matches, however slightly
Stop showing replays.
99% of the problem gone right there.
Seriously though, leave the game that way it is.
Just get better standard referee's and leave the game as is
There is one big positive for the Video Ref in the NRL.
No matter how good or bad it works it gets people talking about the game.
The publicity the game gets out of every mistake is immense.
Just look at how decisions in football when not black or white but shades of grey get debate.
Look at the Berisha V Miller challenge in the GF a few years back. Many say pen many say dive
Video technology there is useless. It is an interpretation decision for the ref.
He either says contact sufficient for a penalty or contact occurred but insufficient for a penalty.
You will never get agreement on that one with a video ref
Grim is right...I have the game. No matter how many times you watch it you can see a 50/50 decision that comes down to the refs interpretation.
Liam Miller made the slightest bit of contact.
Berisha then made a meal of it.
Yeah he dived and played it for all it was worth.
Problem is here Miller should never ever have made any contact on the bloke. Everyone knows he will make a meal of anything. He gave Berisha the chance to make a meal of it. Just as Luca$h did on Grosso. Gave the bloke the chance he took it.
Hey I don't agree with the decision but I can see why the ref gave Berisha and Grosso as pens
Miller gave him a tap but the clincher was that there was a dik in goals called vuckavitch so Perth deserve to lose like that

Bakries have held onto the roar.
Bakries selling the club to a Melbourne consortium
Luciano Trani announced as asistant
Assistant for whom?
We are luc trani's 5th club in the a-league.
Seems to be well respected by those in the know. Certainly doesnt have the intimidation factor that jp had though
I'm disappointed as my BIL thought it was Rado Vidosic we were picking up... I know Portaloo tweeted a congrats to Luc, but anyone know much about him, can't say he has as high a profile as JP?
We could sign pep guadiola and you'd find a problem with it.
Read my post again and find where i said it was a good pick up. Football people who have had something to do with him have given him a glowing reference.
Also your point that he has had 4 other clubs reeks of football naivety.but then i should expect that.
You said he is well respected by those in the know.
Yet 4 clubs think that highly of him they haven't retained him.
Obviously they not know what all these other people in football seem to know.
Do you honestly think a bloke who achieved nothing at 4 better clubs than us and wasn't wanted by them all of a sudden is a great pick up for us??
Typical HAL
Recycling of other people's garbage.
Is this bloke the best assistant Millertime can get.
I think not.
Once again FFA throwing us under the ****ing bus
Why appoint an assistant now. Why can't the new Chinese overlord appoint the replacement for JPD??
Also I hearing that the FFA are bending over backwards to get Cahill to Heart.
Even gonna change rules to allow.
News is slow in LoS
You ****s raging on about a lack of a ****ing marquee and being run on the smell of an oily rag.b y the useless ****s at the FFA yet they try and allow shit like this for the big teams or what??
Firstly, it's more likely that Miller actually chose Tranny and the FFA chose JP, than the opposite, The FFA are a lot less involved now than they were last year. So this could actually be a tactical move by Miller to get someone beside him that has the same thoughts. Thats a glass half full view of it, but we don't know who chose LT.
Also, New owners can sack both of them as soon as they come in so it's not really the end of the world in that respect. We weren't going to sign a world-class assistant coach anyway so that points pretty mute. This may be Miller getting it done quickly to save risking his decision being dismissed by new owners.
Where did I say we have to have a world class assistant??
I just said we should get the best we can get.
This bloke isn't even the best available judging by the 4 clubs who have failed to retain him.
It's a stop gap measure. Whilst we are in this ownership limbo with waiting for Mr Lee to arrive the FFA should have a tight hold on the reigns and not be making any decisions or sanctioning any.
Being the ownership is meant to be sorted in 2-3 weeks anyway I fail to understand why the FFA and Millertime can not wait to then
Maybe out of the people who applied, we got the best we could get.
Even with the rumoured new owner, there would be a lot of question marks about the club. One obvious one being, does the new owner have the intention of bringing in their own staff. This job could be a very short tenure. That in itself could have culled a lot of potential applicants straight up.
I don't know much about the guy, so I am not going to cast any judgement on his quality, but there are a few decisions lately that I think should have been left for the new owner.
- The coffs home game
- Staffing such as assistant coach
Respected by those in the know.
Disrespected by those who in all serious know **** all.
Welcome to Newy.
I think we are grown up enough to make up our own minds on each appointment. Respect has to be earned and this "in the know" shit is quite tiresome. If you know tell it or stfu. like the players lets see how he goes first before we get all joyous.
Wasn't Stubbins respected, and look how well that turned out.
I still need an answer on Steve Lustica ay.
I feel it hasn't been discussed enough.
