Anything to reduce this scourge on the game is a help. Yeah there's heaps of grey area and the big clubs will probs get off more often but ever since that Brazilian a**hole diver Rivaldo fell to the ground like a twat it has almost fkd the game.Quote:

Gypos got a new signing who actually seems quite decent
FWIW the club that he is from is the same club Ange Postecoglu's new bolter kid in the recent Socceroos squad is from. I would casually guess that Ange is one of the reasons that players from that club are on AL clubs radars.
I'm always skeptical about players whom spend their whole careers in one country/area and then decide to come to the AL. Like Alivodic, or Kokko. It's definitely a gamble imo (well, I guess most visa players are a gamble innit).
when does the next season draw come out?
Degroot and Drovandi to a lesser degree did very well after they left the Jets. Hakanson never overcame his injury woes from what I have read and was pretty much finished.
The coast signing though is a central mid, 28 years of age who appears to be able to get around without the aid of crutches or a wheelchair - So absolutely no comparison to the shit the Jets sign.
Does anyone know if Captain Obvious has entered rehab or something?
Bloke has gone missing in the big moments this season.
I haven't gone anywhere
You take out the big Euro Leagues out of the picture
Then you take out the big name clubs in each country in Europe get down to the rank and file chaff the equivalent of us in the HAL and blokes playing at that level are not on that much cash
The over inflated wages in this country are not that bad of a prospect for any rank and file Euro professional player
Another silly Parris article trying to cause drama - you can't call the purchase price a loss as he can resell or add value.
Like any other investment.
Actually has any A-League licence ever been 'sold' between 2 independent parties apart from the Double-eff-aye ripping them back and on selling?
the yardstick for measuring just how good Mr Lee is will be whether he can make good his statement to get us into the ACL within three years (give or take a year), to do that he will need to invest in the club, but if he is ambitious to make the club a viable entity then he has to put in the $$$ to do it...
True. $8mil might pay for one (cheapish) marquee level player in the CSL, it's a drop in the ocean - he should be able to get bang for his buck here in Australia, especially if he can develop a few players (Aussie, Chinese or Chilean) to on-sell into the Chinese market at a substantial mark-up, but he has to make the investment to get the reward, I'm hoping he's serious enough about his purchase of the Jets to do just that...
He'd get better odds playing baccarat at Crown.
Then you have the player managers to contend will insisting their lads have a clause about transfers installed so as they can freely move rather than be stuck until a big offer arrives.
Much easier to let other clubs develop players and simply buy the finished product rather than roll the dice on a junior who may never make it at A-league level let alone be good enough for a big overseas offer.
