In terms of foreigners, I would rather we search too find players like Berisha, Broich, Finkler and Carussca. In the confines of my squad I have two foreigners, so sign 3 foreigners (1 LB, a DM/CM and another striker). In terms of other players, we normally sign pretty solid youth players so target some of the better guys in that area, guys like Kale, Brendan Cholakian is a beast young player and maybe 1 other. Look for a big aussie marquee to round out the squad then I'd say
That would mean we need the right people doing the research.
Brisbane had Rado, who talked to Dario, about Broich and Berisha.
Josep had worked with Carrusca before (I think?).
Not entirely sure Finkler's story.
But it seems to mostly come down to the links the coach has as to whether the visa players pay off or not.
I would have thought Stubbins would have seen, and been able to negotiate for, some decent players from Thailand. I know he tried with Paartalu, but I would have figured he would have had a bigger list than that. Not sure where the Montano link came from, but Steele was obviously a Carney and Cahill recommendation.
So after taking that into consideration, what coach would you put in charge to then get these players like Broich, Berisha, etc?
The obvious coach is Mike Mulvey, outside of that though I couldn't tell you.
However, I look at leagues like the MLS, and I see pacey as **** CB/LB/RB's like Wynne, Opara, Beasley and Yedlin who are all at least in my opinion guys who would be staying at level playing field in terms of their career if they were to come over to the a-league who could tear up. I look at Wynne, who is quick like you wouldn't believe, and you match him up with Madaschi who is solid, and that is a good connection in theory.
You look to places like the Ivory Coast, a bunch of talented players, and again quick players which is something the jets sorely lack and I believe some of those players wouldn't look out of place in the a-league. It really is just a matter of having guys travel overseas in the off-season and doing some recruitment which is mixed in, at least too me with finding a good aus marquee like a James Holland and getting some of the best young talent and honing their skills like a Kale Bradbery
James Holland he goes alright
There is this aussie playing in Austria think his name is James Holland
What about that James Holland bloke that use to play with us
Maybe James Holland would be a good Aus Marque
We need some Midfield steel how about James Holland
Oh and don't forget James Holland
I would be surprised if Kew even sees this season out, and Bridgey will be promoted to head coach and become Bridgey the white.
The first part of what I said is still relevant, maybe not all of the second part. In some way these relatively unknown foreigners made their way over here through people within the club. How well we do talent scouting wise in overseas markets is fully dependent on the dream coach we get in this scenario. I named mulvey but I also don't really know any coaches that are or aren't available that make sense so I went with the simple pick. Again, it's a similar situation though where the club does research too find the best guy possible
Actually of the blokes you mentioned.
Brioch, fell into the wrong crowd in Germany and got in some strife off the field. His agent suggested a new start away from Germany and Europe and began to shop him out. He fell on Brisbanes door step.
Berisha, played along side of Dario Vidosic and was recommended to Rado by Dario, hardly a scouting network.
Finkler, was recommended by Fernando Rech to give the A-League a go Finklers agent then reached out to Victory.
Carrusca, of the lot he was one that seems Adelaide found him, he was hardly an unknown but having played for Galatasary and Estudiantes.
I was under the impression Broich had played with, and was recommended by, Dario too. But I was wrong.
Fernando Rech - haven't heard that name in ages! Good to know that former HAL players are still keeping the network up.
Broich and Dario where team mates...
i dont know if you have but there is a really good movie made about thomas... It is really good to gain an insight on the man....
never really bad crowd he basically was too smart for his own good... plus injuries...
Tom meets Zizou

I don't think the players, coaches, management staff and office staff realise that we are the ones that keep them in a job. If the fans stopped turning up the club would be folded and all working at the club would have a very hard time to find an A-League club to work at again
2nd go round;
Josh Barresi - keep (Haven't seen anything from him)
Mark Birighitti - Release (Wants too leave, let him)
Zenon Caravella - Release
David Carney - Keep (Can do good stuff, probably put too much hate on him honestly)
Billy Celeski - Keep
Mitch Cooper - Keep
Marcos Flores (V) - Release (Would love too keep him but I feel our visa spot can be used better elsewhere)

This is assuming Montano would want to come back, yeah? He's only on a loan remember.
Release - Robbie Middleby and Phil Stubbins. Nothing else matters until this is done.
January transfer window in 1 day.
So lets sit back a watch nothing happen
As if any self respecting player would want to play for a shit coach like Stubbins??
Career suicide
Stubbins really is out of his depth.
I say get a ford focus from klosters and fill it, 3 in the boot, drive them all done to Sydney and drop at Apia, let em play state league.
We are a work in progress and we are building for the future.
Is anyone of the belief that we need a new CB?
Judging from preseason and his time before us, I was a big fan of Madaschi. But I'm not as confident on him anymore. He seems to never, ever want the ball. He'll pass it and get furious, and seemingly scared, if/when he gets it back. To be fair against my argument, him and Welsh played passybacks A LOT last night v City. But I'm just not as confident on Madaschi now, as I was before.
And I've heard a few people now say that they think Madaschi and Kew don't work well together.
Regan I still feel is not up to it.
Do we need a new CB?
What is Josh Mitchell ( ) up to?
they all stink
