Why would we sign Millar ffs. He's a right back / right mid.
Make no sense unless club can only afford to keep one out of Hoff and Gorgeous George
Hoffs got a lot of utility value and Georgevski has been one of, if not our best player this season. If the club doesn't retain them I'm convinced we are severely strapped for cash.
when is ivan signed til? you'd have to think hed be on the chopping block yeah?
I think we will be balancing the books because I reckon we threw a fair bit of cash to get him (remember at the time we were bottom of the league and he won the Championship and the Joe Marston Medal).
Gorgeous started the season really slow, but has come on strong the last few weeks. Is this a sign of his age? His discipline is questionable too. Will he be tempted to go to Western Melbourne for a few seasons? He'd be a big signing for them.
Millar has shone in a dour season for the mariners. He gets forward and that's what Ernie wants. He fits the profile for I'd suggest much less money. Money we can use to combine with Italiano's wage and be used for....i don't know...Birighitti???
Also, credit where it is due regarding Austin. In the past we would have signed a player like this for 2 years. We did a strong due diligence and I reckon he was on base coin. It's not worked out and we've probably pushed his agent to find him a new club. We've let him go and only out of pocket for 6 months wages. We'd have normally struggled to achieve this.
Ok...just listened (3 times to be sure what I heard) to Mulvey.
He said the Jets offered FIVE different players to the Gypos to get Millar over the line by end of transfer window.
WTF?

so us, the mariners and Sydney are in talks to be signing Roy Krishna
I'd imagine we wonder have Jair next season and this is a good replacement for him in my opinion
Krishna is 31. No thanks just another short term option. We need another young quick aussie forward to help sheps
Krishna ?. No thanks bloke was going down quicker than a 10 buck alley whore last week. Only saving grace is he would be multitude times better than the last Nux outfield player Ernie acquired which wouldn't be hard.
Wouldnt he count as a foreigner??
Everyone wanted a Nabbout replacement. He is as close as we will get playing style wise, plus he knows the league, plus he knows the coach. Remember, they are only c$nts when they play for other teams, once he starts diving for us it will be totally fine.
I'd take Krishna. Pace, guile and scores goals (except pens). Just what we've been missing this season.
Who is reporting our interest?
Regardless, it's a move of intent from the club if it's true. We've moved quick on our target with Matt Millar, we've re-signed key players within the squad and those we see as the future. Acting like an aggressive club and I like it.
Turbo, why are you posting all your news in the squad thread?
Turbo is doing great work..
Get back to fluffing up your resume!!
Problem with Krishna is he scores goals and doesn't have any long term injury concerns. Not sure he's Jets material to be honest.

According to the club, Hoffa's ankle injury has him sidelined for the rest of the season...
Not good news at all.. Hope he has a speedy recovery..
