Just call the season off and be done with it, who cares. Premier or no premier, much bigger issues facing us all at the moment
From reports out of NNSW the competition will be called off on Friday and Jaffas announced premiers
Canberra just cancelled theirs and declared whoever had won most points per game as Premier
That'll do. There was never going to be a good ending here.
Not gonna cry because a team who is already on top get a plastic trophy.
Let’s not get too critical of NNSW, they have 2 tough decisions to make, both of which you’ll have people for and against.
1. abandon competition or play on (with lockdown / restrictions likely to be in place for a while, I believe there is only 1 decision to make - abandon competition, as have other codes)
2. Award premierships or don’t - again you’ll have votes for and against (with all 3 title contenders playing each other in the last 2 weeks, this is a tough one to call) either way NNSW can’t win, what ever decision they make some will agree, others will be pissed off.
If what is true of earlier posts with NNSW engaging with clubs to make the calls, why all the criticism ??
I believe they should finish the premiership. Clubs have already voted to play until the end of October.
Cancel final series and if we are in lockdown until October 10, let the 3 clubs Jaffas Maitland and Edgy play their last 2 matches. It would mean playing 5 games , say October 23 and 30.
You don't have to play all games , just get the Premier sorted. All 3 clubs would be in the same position preparation wise
Round 17
Maitland vs Broadmeadow
Jaffas vs Charleston
Edgeworth vs Adamstown
Round 18
Edgeworth vs Broadmeadow
Maitland vs Jaffas
Could you imagine the crowds at the round 18 games
Just give it to whoever had the most corners
lol some people in tears over something not fair with 2 games to go. Top place is "most likely" to finish top.
Remember when we lost an Aleague Grand Final due to cheating? Yeah, the sun came up again.
We aren't getting out till near end of October
Where is the incentive for Charlestown and Adamstown to play one game? Even for Magic to play twoQuote:

They don't need an incentive, they are in a comp that goes for 18 rounds and if Northern deemed those rounds to be played the clubs play or forfeit , but I think they would play.
All academic anyway after today Goats, I agree with your earlier post, we aren't getting out of this anytime soon enough to finish the season
Well Northern have cancelled it now and awarded Premiers on a points per game basis.
Though I note "Lambton Jaffas president Scott Douglas said clubs fully respected and supported the decision to end 2021 Premier Competitions seasons." Bit poor to include the Lambton President considering his team are declared Premiers because of the decision to announce Premiers. I'm sure his club is very supportive of that decision.
Could've had the Vic Chairman of the standing committee make the comment.
Party like it's 1930.

To be honest, most grounds are shit.
The jets don't even have 1, so should they be relegated. The issue isn't the grounds, it's the lack of improvement, or initiative from clubs, and the governing body. It's ground hog day every year, same predictable garbage.
E.G Lakes blew all there money on pensioners, and still failed to improve ,cooks hill will do the same with DT's pensioners brigade in 2022. Valo and buds have been equivalent to pub teams the last 5 years +, and finished last and second last. But hey the grass isn't green enough. F me what's the focus here, quality of football or Hunter Valley Gardens as facilities
Have heard Marcus Duncan to Olympic from Weston.
Liam Wilson to Edgeworth from Weston.
Aaron Oppedisano to Magic from Azzurri .
Nick Cowburn to Valentine from Lakes.
[QUOTE=JustHearThings;252753]Magic trying to recoup some of the player numbers they've lost. Have heard they've lost anywhere up to 8 players.[/QUO
