They seem to be making moves anyway, signing Buhagiar from CCM. Similar to what we did before Ernie was announced so I'd say they already know and/or recruitment is largely dealt with outside the manager's control anyway.

So yeah, basically what Plague said.
The signing of players has already been intriguiing this off-season.
WSW are signing players (4 so far) without a coach in place.
Sydney have signed 2(?)
Mariners have let some of their better players go in Da Silva, Buhagiar and Wales (who looked promising) and replaced them with fringe players (Gamiero) and romantic signings (Simon). I think they're overall weaker than they were last year already.
It’s good to be watching this from the other side.
Knowing from first hand all its doing is giving their managers an excuse. “Not my signings”
Until sydney sign Merrick under an FFA rule that minor premier are entitled to any coach unless they win the Grand Final.
My concern is that Dimi will head to Russia. Dimi will be seen, Dimi will be picked up.
These guys in particular were players with half decent attributes but no ability to really do much damage to opposition teams. I don't have their stats but with Da Silva's technical ability and Buhagiar's half decent pace and strength you'd think they would have looked better than Hoole and Pain. The fact that they looked inferior to those two tells me they both don't have much chance elsewhere.
At least Gameiro and Simon, the half footed numpties they are, know how to make a slight impact on a game. Whether that be elbowing everyone within a 10m radius or making everyone discuss how terribly unlucky a player can be, they still look more likely to do something on the pitch than the first 3 you mentioned.
Yeah it different
Usually we doing the blood letting
Sacking coaches and releasing hordes of players
It not even going to be a dramatic off season for us either (it would appear though we could well sack the coach on season launch just for shits and giggles)
All we going to have to look forward to is whether the club resigns Pato and Vargas or not
If they dont who do we bring in to replace the foreigners
Whether we can negotiate a deal for McGree to come back or not
And the pick up of a player of two to plug the holes in the squad
Going to be a pretty stable off season for us
Obviously selling Dimi or Stevie U might throw a spanner in things but all in all we are pretty stable and can hopefully build into a top 4 club next season again
Next year top 4 has to be our goal and winning at least 1 ****ing game in the FFA Cup being we the only HAL club to never win a game in it
And considering we already made one of those signings, I think it's gonna be a really boring off-season.
I think FFA Cup has to be considered a goal, normally I don't care but after going out in the first round since it's inception I think we do need to actually pick up a victory and get the ball rolling for us.
Considering Merrick was aiming for top 6 last season, and then seeing how good we did this season I would imagine he's aiming for the top 4 and hopefully we can get it and prove this wasn't a fluke season.
I’d be happy with aiming for top 4. I think that would prove some consistency and build on the foundation we have now.
Hopefully Brugge don’t watch much A league. I think McGree would be great for us, looks like he can play everywhere.
As for Dimi, McGree, Ugarkovic and even Nabbout If things don’t pan out. Newcastle seems a good option. Play well and hopefully we finally get rid of the dead wood from our national team who are still there on service awards and pulling on the heartstrings. There’s opportunity for some of them to push for a look in for Asian Cup selection.
The year after there’s nothing really to aim for for a while. So there could be some more “money” moves. Where in World Cup years the moves are for playing time.
In the past we payed overs for players because we had no choice. Now we are an organised and professionally run club playing attractive football that will actually choosing players to sign rather than settling for who is left.
It's going to be a good season and an FFA Cup win is very possible given modt of our squad will be intact.

Merry go round.
Aspro signs for scum. Poor bastard.
There was a turning point in this kids career the first half of this season. When he first came onto the scene he looked like a kid with some potential but this season he came out and tried to play the i am a grub enforcer role. Too busy trying to hack his way through games as opposed to improving his game.
Not long before his season ending injury he was nothing more than a lack of technique hacker more deserving of a position in state league. Somewhere along the line this season a coach has not done his potential any justice
City captain Michael Jakobsen has signed for Adelaide for 2yrs. Gulum possibly going the other way.
Nigro, Sanchez & Austin released from Victory.
Corica announced as FFA FC coach.
Red Aids appoint Markus Babbell as their coach
Being a former Liverpool player he should be use to not winning shit
Castro signed another year with Perth
Goodwin signed 3 years with Adelaide
Edit: wondered why it wasn’t mentioned yet. It was. Note to self: Read all threads before posting.
Mark Rudan takes on the role of Phoneix Head Coach.
Jobs are all gone for Scotty Miller.
