SAME SAME AS US.
The article, which was a good read, illustrated merrick's ability to come in and change the fortunes of the side around. His first 2 seasons at Wellington had strikingly similar characteristics to his first 2 at Melbourne. Just that travel logistics and NZ politics undoubtedly had a major telling on his downfall in his 3Rd season.
HIS FIRST SEASON AT VICTREE HE FAILED EPICLY SAME WITH HIS 3rd EPICLY.
TO BE FAIR MERRICK SHOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER AT VICTREE CONSIDERING HIS PLAYING ROSTER AND CLUB BEING WELL RUN BEHIND HIM
I wouldn't be overly surprised if merrick has been in the background at the jets for sometime now. Perhaps even calling the shots on some of the player signings.
IF HE HAS HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH OUR CLUB IN THE BACKGROUND THAT IS A BIG CONCERN. JONES HAS BEEN WHITE ANTED BY THE PLAYERS. MERRICK BEING INVOLVED MEANS HE HAS BEEN ALSO WHITEANTED BY THE CEO AND OWNER
Merrick is proven at A-League level and for the most part appears to exhibit good man management traits (barring barbarouses fallout- anyone got the goss there?).
THE BLOKE IS GOING TO NEED TO BE A MAGICIAN NOT HAVE GOOD MAN MANAGEMENT SKILLS TO SORT OUR MESS OUT
Merrick is an experienced operator and enjoyed success at the league's most successful club for a good portion of time.
SO HAS KEVIN MUSCAT _ DOESNT MAKE HIM A GREAT MANAGER THOUGH DOES IT??
Merrick would be a safe choice and would be a name that would attract the "cream of the crop".
OBVIOUSLY NOT THE REAL CREAM JUST THE CREAM MUCH BETTER THAN WE GET
