great news.
more power to the A-League clubs.

Is that a good thing? Having 9 or 10 professional clubs controlling football in the country?
While I don’t agree with the way ffa have run it, I don’t think the aleague clubs should have much more voting than they already have. Expand the Congress, but bring in more people from the various facets of the game; coaches, players; match officials; volunteers; administrators; spectators; active support; women’s football; beach football; futsal; modified formats of the game, from across the spectrum, be it professional, to semi professional to amateur.
The aleague clubs should not be running the game.
The aleague itself? Maybe, but I’m wary of where that lead with the NSL. I’d prefer a somewhat even comp than to have clubs falling by the wayside trying to match the spending that other clubs are doing.
yeah sorry lemme edit that for a little minute.
I want the FFA* running the game. I want them to outline a 100 year plan ( a constitution of sorts) from mini-roos through to national team operations. I want them to have a long term framework for the A-League, eg I want them to say "in 2022 there will be 16 teams. In 2030 there will be a second division with promotion/relegation, heres how the 2nd division works etc etc etc. If we need a salary cap then outline it. These knee jerk decisions they make with the A-League are a joke. They need to get out of the day to day operations of the game.
I want the A-League clubs running the A-League. From TV deals, to sponsorship, to their own youth development. If the clubs were smart they would partner with local federations to get their players. But if they want to go solo and just pay top dollar for juniors then fine. That way a piss poor club like the Gypos may at least have a chance of 'selling' players to other clubs etc in order to pay the bills. If our billionaire owner wants to do it via his other clubs in Europe/Asia then awesome. We no longer have travel agents and Amway salesmen owning clubs. Let the ego filled rich pricks swing their dicks. Lets face it, all the parity rules the FFA have in place are a joke anyway. Citeh found a way around it, Sydney just lean on the FFA to get what they want, why bother trying to make things 'fair'.
If the A-League owners want to change any aspect of the constitution they go to the FFA* for approval. That way they are reliant on an independent arbiter to decide any major changes.
I want the federations running junior development, from mini-roos through to NPL level. I want the NPL clubs to get money from player transfers, the new system implemented through the NPL clubs backed by the Jets makes sense. Why cant we have every A-League club partnering up?
NNSW should have zero say in what happens to the A-League, and the Socceroos. They need to know their role.
* by FFA i mean the new incarnation with hopefully less Lowy's than usual.
Lowy Out
Plague In
Plague would have had his fair share of Lowys
I'd like to announce that I will remain a plastic fan for the 2018-19 season, attending on an ad hoc basis. I'll certainly be there to watch Usain!
I greatly enjoyed being a Jets supporter in 2017-18. The transition from Vuck fan was made easy by the Vuck being arseholes generally and undeserving champions particular.
I can't wait to become a genuine supporter like Plague, and will monitor my reputation rating on this website to see whether it is worth doing so.
rumour, when FIFA take control of FFA in late October, guess who will be a candidate to take the place of Mr Lowey and co ?
Answer
MR MIDDLEBY,
It was $20,000 and a swap with Mark Trenter ('Big Trents' as Lowey calls him)....who went back to Sh!tney after 8 games or so anyway.
Did a good job on Czechoslovakia until he did his shoulder
at HT and was replaced by Malcom McClelland
Latest fox sports football podcast sums up everything wrong with the Usain Bolt farce
The King Gypo (the owner, not our CEO) was quoted today saying something along the lines of 'look at the tickets we've sold' then goes on to ask what signing Honda has done for Victory, and that no one is buying tickets because of Honda.
I mean, this guy is automatically a clown for associating himself with the Gypo club to begin with but dear Griff hes either the worlds biggest idiot or has an amazing sense of humour.
It also actually shows up Lowy and Gallop for being the fools they are at running the code
They are currently trying to convince us that clubs shouldnt be getting a bigger say in running the game yet these are the ****ing idiots who have created the scenario that ****wits like this bloke are running clubs in this country and coming up with shitful ideas like Bolt as a pro footballer
If Lowy and co were doing a competent job at running the game this idea doesnt even get off the ground as the Gypos would either be relegated by now or focusing on actual football not weak arse publicity stunts like this
Ffs, give Nerds FC a license please.
Riley McGree officially nominated for the Puskas award.
Winning it would be a nice momento now that he is retired.
Who's McGree?
Are you talking about the scorpion kick Griff scored off the bench?
More importantly there are reports on Twitter that the dumb ****s have finally decided to bin the NCIP most likely thganks to Azzurris challenge to them
About ****ing time they actually done this
Now if they would do the right thing and let an ethnic team in the HAL we can all start to move ****ing forward
Double Eff Aye only know Tim Cahill and Usain Bolt.
Not even kidding, but has anyone from HQ blown up deluxe about Sam Kerr not even getting on the ballot for womens player of the year?
Because funnily enough, its the Americans going ballistic that neither her or Rapinoe are there. Maybe its part of the ANZUS treaty but sad that we have to rely on the Yanks to defend us again.
Except that my post said that the outrage was coming from mainly American media. shes very well known/respected in that league.
In fact, this year she won the ESPY for best international womens soccer player and came 2nd in best player in the American league (behind Rapinoe). That's about as American biased an awards show gets and she still got recognized.
But yeah, anyway.
From the world game:
During the award voting period Kerr scored 33 goals in 34 games for both club and country as well as breaking the record for most goals in an NWSL season with 17.
She was also named AFC Women's Player of the Year, Julie Dolan medal winner, PFA Women's Player of the Year, Golden Boot winner in the NWSL and W-League as well as Young Australian of the Year.
For me personally, on a national team level I would prefer to watch her play than any of the members of the Socceroos squad ( I know my opinion doesn't matter).
The main issue with that list is Marta making the top 3 when she is lucky to make the Brazil squads these days. She has been over taken by younger better players.
