You have to imagine the organisers are a bit shitted off... the potential of Socceroos SF on Australia Day goneski and replaced with a 2/3 full stadium.
they should take the lost revenue from the match payments of our attacking players
serves them right for not scoring against South Korea
Just pulled out of Hamilton/Newcastle on the 4.40pm. Bound for Stad Aust
Yeah, probably would have been good to play on Australia day
but also happy the obvious extra pressure won't be there tomorrow night.
What price Asian Cup 2019 is gonna be in Iran???
Tips people?
Hoping for extra time, brutal encounter. Iraq to go through
Iraq 3-1
Too much talk already on the Foxtel about Aust facing one of these 2 teams.
I'm nervous as all **** abt tomoz.
The fact we 'should' win always bothers me.
Another slow start, Timmy gets a red (happened before), struggle to get it on target, frustration, time wasting, the lottery of penalties.
Anyone who is certain we will win doesn't know football.
Japan are better than Australia and look what happened to them!
on the plus side, if we lose tomorrow we get a second Socceroos game in Newcastle
This Korean keeper is ****ing 'orrid.
Lovely day for some footy ey.
great game despite the weather.
south korea were all over them last night from the get go. little bit of a comeback from iraq during the second half, but the koreans were never really challenged. whoever wins tonight, they are at serious risk of being out-chanted by the korean fans, they were awesome.
looking forward to the final, hopefully the weather is better this time!
loving this tournament.
I'm now waiting for those in Sydney and Melbourne to pipe up and say Newcastle don't deserve a Semi-Final because of the weather they put on for the match not befitting the socceroos
Best thing about being a plastic fan, the water just runs right off.
Enjoy getting soaked ya die hards.
Caaaarrrnnnn
**** oath it does. Heavy pitch our blokes with extra day rest our opponent having 120 mins in the legs. Not to mention our Euro players will be quite used to playing in these conditions.
We should be more dominant the longer it goes.
We get an early goal or two and we will walk all over them like one would do to a certain Hunter based ALeague side and chalk up a bag ful
Can't wait for tonight, rail hail or shine, will be there. After all the shit the Jets have been dishing up, looking forward to more Timmy antics ^^
Can public take cameras in? wont fit in pocket
there was something about not being allowed to take in big ****-off lens type professional cameras in
I'll be happy tonight if the Socceroos are Adelaide and UAE are the Jets - go up in less than two minutes, score at will for the next eighty eight
but hey, no team could ever score seven goals in the semi final of a major tournament though yeah?
Hope you lucky bastards enjoy the game.
I would officially like to thank Gaz for offering me a ticket for tonight
Unfortunately he left it about half an hour too late for me to make the trip to Newy from Sydney and make kickoff.
The bastard.
So I guess that everyone was at the game? Lol
Best feeling walking back to the car having everyone around u whinge that they wish they bought tickets to the final. I've been laying in my pile of tickets at home for the past 6 months
I thought we'd do better than score one goal but that's all we needed.
Left ourselves open but we done it.
Bring on the final.
Forgotten what a **** of a place State de Newy is to get away from with a big crowd present.
Prefer the Jets games with **** all crowd
****ing plastic fans everywhere
hopefully we can get over Pop Asia in the final because not conceding a goal in a whole tourny is ridic.
What's with these media soft cawks Lynch, Hassat and Duvotovic going on about a lack of atmosphere tonight?
I really don't get it. The thing about a Newy crowd is that they cheer in the right places, they applaud in the right places, they groan in the right places, and they anticipate a goal. They know how to bring a team home. This tells me we have a very educated crowd. Tonight I had guys around me debating various aspects of tactics and player performance. A newy crowd is engaged in the game.
So what if Newcastle people don't sing. It's an anglo trait and a sign of the mainstream nature of the football in our city. Expect more of this if the game becomes more and more mainstream in the rest of the country.
These dicks want to turn crowds into performing seals, cheerleaders. For what? So that they can go on about how great the atmosphere is? Funny listening to Duvutovic say what needs to happen to create more active support like he is a chess master pushing the pawns around.
Get stuffed.
Simples. They don't want Newcastle to host the Socceroos again by showing it was a bad move bringing them here in the first place
But I do agree with you hauss, the fans last night were really engrossed in the match so yes they were quiet during some stages. I don't think that it was a problem but as I said before, after the rumblings about Newcastle getting the semi in the first place, they're going to be looking for reasons to say they didn't deserve it.
I think the city represented well last night.
Anyone think there was more than 21906 (or whatever it was)?
