I thought FR meant that Weston are not the strongest NPL side and Cooks Hill are a very strong New FM side and he thinking Cooks Hill would get the win in a possible match up
Exactly what you think he meant??

It's not that hard gents
I don't think he really cares/commented on that game.
The comment was, if cooks hill beat Swansea (to get to that point) he thinks they could beat Weston.
Zing.

Wasn't that hard really, does show the gap between 1st and 2nd division but, all be it they are four of the top NPL sides.
Still shake my head at some talented kids who get brain washed and get told they are better off playing First grade in 2nd division rather then work your guts out in U20 / First Grade NPL
In saying that, Cookers and Thornton will give NPL a real shake tonight.
Unfortunately azzurri have massive injury toll, so they might struggle
Wallsend aren't exactly setting the comp on fire this year, they are sitting in the bottom half of the table. Let's see how cookers and thornton go tonight before passing judgement.
They weren't premiers anyway they were grand final winners back to back (still a very good achievement). The premiers from last year are doing reasonably well in the NPL this year with a similar team to last year.
I think it just shows how out of touch nnsw are. The results make the federation look stupid, not so much the clubs.
There is no doubt that the npl has the 11 best teams. But does the new fm league contain the next 11?? I think everyone knows the answer. In their wisdom nnsw locked each division in for 3 years, so I guess it wont change much for a while.
They should also scrap age restrictions on reserve grade for all divisions. Good enough then your old enough.
I think it looks even worse for newfm when you compare their results against lower division teams
has it always been this way?? or is it just recently
Wallsend are only a shadow of the team from the last two years so not a good comparison to make.
Lakes were the standout team in NewFM last year (across all grades) and are holding their own at NPL level this year with just the addition of a few Maitland rejects.
Some of their lower grades are also doing very well (15s and 18s) which is impressive given they have all had to make the step up.
There are some quality players running around in NewFM unfortunately not enough in most teams to hold it together against NPL opposition.
Be interesting to see a game between say Kahibah or New Lambton against Jets Youth to compare quality.
Drop back and play with mates and enjoy themselves, or stay in the so called promised land of NPL and get what from it... some players leave for a variety of reasons
drop back and help out a struggling local club or stay and get pushed to 20s to stock the club up... matter of opinions
So you consider getting beat by 8 as accceptable ??
Just remember their only one divsion between the clubs
You dont see EPL sides beating Championship sides by 8 in the FACup
You at least expect the lesser side to play with some pride and keep the scoreboard respectful
You dont even see the A League sides towelling the NPL sides to this extent
To me thst is a pretty piss weak effort from the side conceeding 8 and a reflection of the mediocrity in NewFM
the fact is the npl has the best first graders, the best under 20s and u18s theres not much left for newfm, its not nnswf who have it wrong, their only going by ffa rules,
Weston beat Cooks Hill 1-0
So no upsets than
Lambton 3-0
