Get Ljubo back. Or failing that, I hear Lucash Neill is a free agent,
I was very happy when we signed madaschi too. Even tho it was brief, his time at heart before taking off to Japan was impressive.
Mobility wise and command-wise kew and madaschi simply don't work. When trying to explain this to people, I tell them about the Ljubo and topors partnership, arguably the best we have had. Ljubo, the commanding, vocal leader and topor, the obedient, athletic mobile partner.
Kew and madaschi are both the less mobile leader and IMO clash style wise. There is talk about Daniel Mullen signing with us. If this is true than stick him next to either of kew or madaschi and see what happens. Welsh is also another option to stay there next to kew.
Regs is like bk and virgili for me. Looks the goods for 2 or 3 games when they first get put in each season but then the cracks start to appear and the consistency is simply not there. Will it ever be? That's the big question with a lot of our local players it seems unfortunately.
Kanta is class in winning the ball and playing the simple pass.
His game is let down when he tries to force a pass or creating an attacking opportunity. You watch his game when he has time on the ball he forces a pass that is not on by either playing to someone in traffic or looking for the cross field Hollywood ball which looks great when it comes of but only finds its target one in ten times.
He needs to work on his decision making even when he has time he seems to look rushed. I only hope someone around him has pointed it out to him so he can work on it, you know a intellectual person employed by the club to improve the players performance, just not sure we have one of those.
Hammer, nail, hit it.
We need a mercurial midfielder like a skoko who can pull the strings and allow kanta to just focus on running around tackling people. Kanta has done pretty good this season at nullifying the effects of finkler and carrusca in the games we have played against them. Caravella simply lacks class, positional awareness and any resemblance of a passing game unless it is headed backwards. I'm not sure celeski is the answer and I reckon pepper is a better option than the muppet currently lining up next to kanta.
alright, which one of you is Tinkler?
hey what i do in my bedroom is my business pal
Virgili has just signed a new 3 year contract.
sauce: he is out for the rest of the season injured so long term contract is guaranteed.
Wouldn't be surprised if there's no injury and he's been told to look for a club in China. No goals in 55+ games for a forward, just not up to it, though either are current management. Ahhh the life of a Jets fan
Bump.
Makes for some interesting reading given the current circumstances
hahahaha
:bump:
Ok so thought I would spark this up again.
Realistic signing I would like to see.
Richard Porta
Brad Smith
Kale Bradbury
New signings if Tinks splashed a bit of cash or we get a new rich owner.
Estaban Cambiaso
James Holland
I think Porta, Smith and Bradbury would be relatively cheap.
Porta, 32 chance to finish his career in Aus wouldn't demand to much coin, I wouldn't imagine his on big dollars in Ecuador so the wage may not be to dissimilar.
Smith, chance for regular 1st team football, could possibly get a loan deal.
Bradbury, park football or a professional contract?
As to Cambiaso and Holland yes I agree they would demand marquee wages.
doesn't matter who we sign as long as we have the coach we do
I have a coaches licence fully accredited by the FFA.
I have driven the players around on many occasions.
I won the World Cup with Australia on FM. I think I win
I took Plymouth from div 3 to the treble
and 17 straight la ligas with barca (before there was messi and Ronaldinho)
ahhh might have to fire up the old CM when I get home
I think Phil should start playing
I'd say sign
Scott McDonald
Richard Porta
Danny Ireland
Kale Bradbery
Brendan Cholokian
Massimo Murdocca
Cam Watson
Unlikely but Pablo Sanchez
Finally someone who adds some context to the discussion.
Murdocca and Watson, I wouldn't mind if at the right price, A-League quality and would add depth.
Cholakian, haven't seen any youth league for some time. How's his form?
Ireland and Bradbury, I agree wouldn't brake the bank and good squadies.
Porta, HELLS YES
McDonald, nah pass I think his well pass his best.
Sanchez, Didn't he just sign an extension with Adelaide? Although I would take in a heartbeat.
Cholokian seems to be in good form, I put him in the same category as Bradbery and Ireland. Wouldn't break bank and a better squad player with more potential then some of our lot
Personally think McDonald at CAM has seen him revitalised a bit which is why I choose him
From what I've gathered him and the dude they grabbed recently from Real both haven't sign extensions so I'd be on that quick.
So for me my overall squad would be
Birraz
Neville
Regan
Kanta
Josh Barresi
Jason Pepper
Mitch Cooper
Ben Kennedy
Daniel Mullen
Lee Ki Je
Brandon Lundy
Radivan
Boogard
Enver (Serbian guy we're signing)
Scott McDonald
Richard Porta
Bradbery
Ireland
Cholokian
Watson
Murdocca
Pablo Sanchez
That puts us at the 22 so sign up another foreigner to hit the limit
Think you are missing a couple
Virgili Sam Gallagher and Cowburn are dead certainties to get new contracts
With the uncertainty surrounding Phoenix and them only being able to offer players a contract until the end of next season how long will it be until other clubs start picking the carcass.
Personally I want us to try to get Burns & Reira.
Dangle the carrot of a 3 year deal in front of them to secure their future and think we could be half a chance to secure them.
God I hope we don't sign Burns. I don't want to see his career ruined, he's just coming good
