Good to hear from you pv4. No comment on Bridges? Virgili? I really did picture you being so happy seeing how bad Bridges was. I even looked towards your corner on the Southern Hill :(

What's everyone banging on about?
We won possession 57-43, put 4 past the Mariners and Griff got Pietersen out.
****ern top day.
The club needs to let Bridges go. The only thing he's good at is promoting himself. That's it.
The fact he hasn't retired shows his complete contempt for the fans , his team mates, and the kids in our youth system looking for a chance at senior level.
As such, I don't want him at the club as a player, a coach, or as anything. I just want him to **** off and leave,
Too good to be true last week. Brown. Poor again last night. They are mad to extend his contract but if they let him go just watch him go elsewhere and turn into a world beater.
While I agree that Bridges is past it physically his play was really no worse than the others out there. Yes you can rant on about wayward passes but he wasn't alone. By all means, look at what happens and provide constructive points of view. Leave the personal attacks out of it. I think his vision is good, his physicality is bad (match fitness) but he does seem to give his team mates and the crowd a morale boost when he comes on. We can weigh up the merits or negatives of all these and praise him or condemn him but the reality is that he has a contract (probably his last) and like you and me he wants his pay packet. I won't condemn him for that.
The way things are going BK will be on the park soon. What was Birra doing back there with that pick up? He is better than that.
Wanderers did to us what we have been doing to others for a few weeks now. Absorb the pressure, play without the ball and hit on the counter. We lacked options up front and it was very noticeable that in the first half Taggart was calling for the ball at his feet early only to see the midfield look to go wide. With the size of our front line we are never going to win in the air against that defence.
Zads was off his game tonight. Thought Chilli livened things up and Goodwin had a few nice touches. I would like to have seen us employ two wide players from the start not for the crossing but to run at their defence and look for some goal mouth mayhem from low balls. I think Burns would have done well tonight. Thought the Beard had a good one even with the number of off target passes he supplied.
RBB were noisy and dully repetitive. Admire their passion tho. Bet we don't get as many at Parramatta as that and that we will a damn site quieter.
The Squadron challenged them last night. Good effort.
First 30 min was some of the best football played this year. Brown, brillante kanta and hoole were moving the ball quickly through mids but as normally happens with jets teams a goal against and back in shell. Wanderers tightened in the middle and we only managed the odd foray through the middle. Zads was definitely off his game, rarely looked like wanting the ball and wanderers quick ball movement meant he was always a couple of yards behind.
I got extremely sick of chilli heading backwards. He got in some good space but rarely chose to do what he does best and what we sadly missed with burns being out. Good to see some confident play out if Goodwin.
Kanta was everywhere and his passing is getting better with each game, fast becoming our most important mid.
Oh and had a good view for halitis push on pepper and just after he pushed I turned away to look at something else as like everyone else I was expecting the free kick. It was blatantly obvious
Has anyone seen the game on fox ?
Yes, I know it was an obvious foul on Pepper..
They interviewed Nathan Burns on the sideline just after half time & was interested in what he had to say about his injury
Biraz didn't have a bad game and to think of dropping him when he did 1 bad thing is ridiculous. He is still our best gk.
As for Bridges, I prefer him over Brown, at least Bridges looks to try to get things moving. Brown is a clown.
Yeah I don't think bridges lost the ball more than anyone else, and I don't mind him not going back and helping the defense. When we are down 1-0, i'd prefer players to be up top. We won the ball a few times, and only had the long ball to look for, and ending up giving it away almost every time.
At the end of the day, he was the only one brave enough to try a risky ball through the guts, which led to two decent chances that may have been goals against a worse defense.
Sorry, but besides not getting back well, he was no worse than any player on the park. We were very much in desperation mode, so you cant fault him for making a couple mistakes while looking for a miracle ball or run. I'd prefer to lose possession trying to make a fight back then having player stuff around playing backwards and to wide midefielders/fullbacks who are for whatever reason too scared to run to the by-line.
That's the way I saw it too Smeezyy, this lot must have been kissing their boyfriends in the back row
Enlightened view there my2bobsworth: "anybody who disagrees with me must be gay".
Lots of chances wasted & bridges goal was off side
Ohh well least we were in this game abit more then the last time we played them.
If Bridges is so good why then doesn't he dominate state league defences when he plays in the pre-season.
Reason: He is shit.
I'm starting to lose some confidence in Birraz - the kid is a brilliant shot stopper but he does not command a penalty area and looks shaky on the back-pass. That flapping he does when trying to punch crosses cost us against Brisbane and he has done it a couple of times since. Against Heart at the death he nearly tripped over a back-pass!
Last night was the handball **** up and a couple of times he didn't come out when he should have - he had alot to answer in respect to the goal as any keeper worth his salt should claim any high ball in his 6 yard box (at one stage he was behind the line). I reckon Covic would've claimed it.
Pissed orf about other things, like how the hell WSW fans walk and sit in Jets Gold Members seats WITH JETS PASSES ! Not to mention how they were allowed to integrate all over the ground due to ticketing.
Squadron could not be heard from the Western Stand and the call and respond never happened - well done to those that started a couple of chants though that made a bit of noise.
Oh - and Virgili should just stay in the Youth team....for life.
Shoot me.....
Michael ****ing Bridges. Why are we persisting in this bumnut when we can promote a younger chap to do the exact same thing he does. Beats 4 players on halfway with no pressure going sideways and then losing it. He's wasting a visa spot, a senior squad spot, and ruining my life
He is the exact opposite of Bret Hart, he is the shittest there is, the shittest there ever was, and the shittest there ever will be
:rof:
Somebody give me a bit of a Eric Bischoff entrance music video. IM BAAAAAACK
Sometimes we are only as good as they let us play. They pressed well in the 2nd half. We made some decisions that didnt work. If Zads scores in the first half maybe a different convo. Good to see reegz getting more game time. Hoping cara can get some time to regain the old form

Sounds a bit different to reports on here and Facebook...
away fans lockout for next wankerers game. solved
This is something a few of us picked up on the minute Birraz was parachuted into the first-choice keeper role. The BK haterz wouldn't have a bar of it though.
In all fairness, I am a fan now, and I reckon he has improved immensely in his decision making from those early games. I back him to improve more as he gets more experience under his belt, he still hasn't yet played two seasons at a professional level yet.
Still think BK is the shit though.
Birraz is without a doubt improving. I am sure he is working on his aerial work, which will alos improve the more game time he gets - something he is getting with us. As for losing confidence because he picked the ball up!? Spare me. Keepers stuff up regularly. It's no different to a mis-controlled ball, a wayward pass or a shot that goes closer to a throw in than a goal kick. Do we lose confidence in the outfield player does this? The focus is on the keeper because their stuff-ups often result in a goal. In this case, it didn't so we move on.
Brown is concerning me. I found his tracking back was poor and his first instinct was to turn and look backwards. Would more game time assist with this? Maybe. He has more of a playing future than Bridges so he should be getting a run ahead of him.
Bridges tried too hard on the weekend. As a result of limited game time his touch and pass were a bit off - it's to be expected. I do think the super-sub role should go to another player.
Virgili and Goodwin were impressive when they came on. Goodwin in particular looked more lethal running forward, very much early last season form. Maybe he's heard that GvE isn't going to be coaching next year so the shackles have come off. I actually thought he should have started ahead of Brown. He would have offered more.
Our fullbacks are still pushing far too high leaving us vulnerable to the counter. It's good if we retain possession because they are there and waiting, but when we turn it over, we are in trouble.
I think Regan is panicking in the backline a bit. The back 4 are holding but Regan is often the first to drop and chase, eliminating any offside chance. Not being critical, but it was just an observation.
On the plus, got to meet Blackmac on the weekend. He was doing a great job selling the Jetstream. Shame I couldn't stop and chat for longer.
Being one of those BK haterz back then - I'd say I had a bar of it. But I saw way, way too many flaws in BK's game to outweigh any issues I saw with Biraz. Every game BK played, and every time the ball went near him, I was nervous. With Biraz, I felt & feel comfortable.
confirmation bias
Just watched the replay. FFS how has the ref and linesman missed the push in the back of Pepper (he still should of been stronger) everyone in the stadium seen it other then the 2 people who could of done something about it.
