Don't know what Jared's deal is with Weston or any non-metro team.
Watched the game on Youtube between Magic and the Bears, wouldn't have called it a particularly physical match.
Hearfield's challenge was only a yellow, no need for a red - was only a single foot involved and he got the ball. Big deal. Haynes played on for a while and didn't seem too injured when he went off - more of a precaution IMO.
As for the implication that Weston were only dangerous from set pieces, well they were dangerous from set pieces (as normal) but they did score 3/4 in open play.
NB the washouts in Newie are ridiculous. NNSWF needs to set in. Stupid that Clubs are making unanimous decisions. Should be decided by the TWO clubs in question and the match officials at the time of kick off.
Thought he was very very average to be honest but then again it was a pretty average overall performance by Azzurri.
Was just interested in your thoughts on Birdy considering the pasting you gave your keeper. I didn't think the keeper was horrendous - then again people see things differently.
My opinion of our keeper is cumulative over many rounds. His displays vs.Maitland,Rosebuds in FFA Cup &Edgy have all been of a similar quality. The defence is rubbish but I know how a keeper can inspire defenders with confidence if they fulfil their role competently. As far as Birdy goes he was CCB's best player again&it amazes me the number of times he gets fouled. His main fault is his belief that he needs to do everything & this doesn't allow him to play his own game.Changing positions 3/4 times a game doesn't help either.Pretty sure things might change next season.

I think your blowing too much smoke up this poor kids backside,(IF YOUR NOT THE POOR KID)
There are plenty of better players around in this league playing in better teams, even some weaker ones.
dont get me wrong birdy holds his own, but to try and say virtually he is azzurri and the rest are crap is just an ego - (there is no i in team ).
He is not proven in my eyes to demand such hype.
So 1st round of the NPL is almost done and dusted from what people have seen so far who is the tip for premiership grand final winners and relegation?
Olympic & Magic to be grand final and Maitland / Charlestown fighting spoon
Tonester, I also consider Birdy a talented player and that in a stronger team his game would probably progress. But you being the noise that travels with him, may find your attitude unwelcome at some clubs. My man tells me that it was similar circumstances at Weston , where one of their top players was moved on, it was his third club in three years and now he's bench warming in Sydney.
I've heard that 3 clubs will be making submissions to Northern over the handling of the guy bates issue at Adamstown. Will be interesting to see what comes of this.
I'm guessing it will be the teams that didn't beat them. Charlstown beat them but I dare say they are one of the teams
Where he went isn't the issue. The circumstances of his going are what I'm talking about. My man says that the noise associated with him can't be heard anymore. Maybe they can't hear it over the traffic in Sydney.
Wrong on both accounts. Definitely not the case at weston and definitely not warming the bench at Sydney.
I watch the sydney highlights each week, Evans took a few games to get his starting chance and has started each one since.
My mans mail is pretty good, and he said him and Piggo went on the same banana skin. I was at the Bonnyrig game last week as I was in Sydney on business and was interested to see how he was going as he impressed me at Weston when I watched on BAR TV. He came off the bench for the last 20 minutes and did some good things. He must be staniding up for the rest of the time if he's not warming the bench.

Did anyone else see the article in the herald today about the Edgeworth coach being embarrassed about the unsportsmanlike goal they scored against the jets on the weekend. The eagles didn't look to be embarrassed when they were celebrating the goal at the time. Very poor from the club, a view that was shared by plenty who witnessed it
I think you can throw southy in the relegation battle. Doing it very tough in all grades. Have about 6 first grade players out which is obviously putting pressure on lower grades as young players are pushed up. Also think Olympics bubble will burst soon. They have been lucky in a few games and I can see both magic and edgy beating them in the next few weeks. Imo it is between edgy and magic with olympic weston and jaffas fighting it out for 3rd & 4th
I thank Minister30 for his first post. I contacted my man to verify his mail and he tells me that his mail was wrong,. When I asked him the source , the name he mentioned is an idiot. As a result I must apologise for my misinformation . Sometimes the truth isn't pretty , but the untruths are always ugly.I am truly sorry for this fairytale ever being told. Apparently I was right on one count as the young fella pla
ed against Sydney United on the weekend and had a great game
This was my first game that i saw this year. This situation was essentially a coincidence, as the paper described. The edgy players tried to get the referee to take it back to the throw in from what i heard watching the game.
I dont think it was great, but it wasnt terribly poor. especially when you consider it was a coincidence of events. Coupled with the fact that the young player has gone through quite a lot in recent times (not an excuse, but may have contributed).
I suppose at the end of the day does it really matter? the jets were losing, edgy had the miss of the century almost immediately after this unlucky sportsmanship event. And the jets points don't cant for nothing anyways. All the jets do is take points away from teams.
For the record: i think having the jets in the comp is for the better. I thought it was just bad luck. Also edgy could have scored an own goal to even up the situation.
