I used the internet because Bon was no help. The old Juicy Beans, eh?
Reckon I need to find a new coffee place near work.
Och aye laddie
So no good on the Mid Strength piss and no definitive commitment to the Jet Shaped Hats
The only things I got out of that was the club is taking over the EJ in the future. Which must be said has to be better than having the clowns at Northern running it
The other thing was this board of 5 made up of Ledman and his Football advisor, Gypo CEO a hunter based businessman and someone from Northern
Having someone from Northern involved scares the shit out of me more than the Gypo CEO
They cant run their own organisation well FFS
As for the rest of it just the usual hot air one would expect
Can't do anything about the catering - that's a stadium deal not involving the Jets.
As definitive an answer on the Jets shaped hats as you are going to get - if enough people want them, he will get them made. Start your grassroots movement Member
Couldn't listen - did he apologise?
Lawrie is definitely big on engaging with fans and the community as a whole, that came across very strongly in the interview. I think we will get more transparency under him then all of his predecessors, probably going as far back as John Tsastimas who I thought was the best CEO we've had. Likes of Eland and Middleby seemed to be afraid to open up and just be up front, McKinna doesn't seem to be afraid to answer questions, like he said at the beginning of the interview "It's all part of the job of being CEO".
Most disappointing thing from the interview is that it seems we are destined to be playing the majority of our home games in the afternoon timeslot forever and a day now. The club can only request the timeslots but FFA and Fox will have the final say in kick off time scheduling. This sucks but the reality is that Fox pump huge $$$ into the game and so pick and choose the fixture scheduling.
What's the time difference with China? Can we insist we need Chinese friendly kick off times for our extended viewing audience? 5pm kick offs here are too early to start sinking tsingtaos Beijing time etc, we must be sensitive to their market too, etc...
Was interesting to hear what both McKinna and Miller had to say about the Chinese Development player. I thought McKinna stated the obvious which is that squaddies in China are worth a fortune and we are going to struggle to get any player to come here who is any good. Miller seems pretty peeved about the whole situation in how guarded his responses are. I wouldn't mind if the chinese player was signed as a marquee just so that there is actually some salary cap left for the striker.
I enjoyed this podcast.
Furns put something out on twitter, but I thought I'd share it here.
If there is anyone who is interested in joining to podcast send a PM to Furns, me or Bodes. With the changing format of the pod this year, there's an opportunity for new voices.
If you have any questions, about technology needed etc, happy to answer them as well.
