Rule didn't punish Magic... Lost Olympic the minor Premiership hahahahahaha
Well it wasn't Magic that cried to the paper about it
Sounds like Magic might have been the ones to "snitch" on themselves. Finishing 9th or 10th makes little difference to their 18s. Just wanting to spite Olympic!!!
As for breaking the rules, EJs stand to lose enough points in 18s and 20s to miss out on semis. But since they are the ones deciding the outcome it won't happen. Clear violation and Northern stick their head on the sand. Anyone wanting to take it further could close the whole competition down.
Remember children... Its all about youth development!!!
Today's 18s results are just cruel.
Jets beat Jaffas by 1 and Hamilton beat Magic by 5! 😮
By my calcs that means a tie for the minor premiership with both points and for and against equal.
However due to the two 3-0 free kick results for the Jets they should be premiers courtesy of a 3 goal advantage in goals scored.
Congrats Edgy.
Massive achievement to win 3 premierships in a row.
Perhaps we are seeing another smoke and mirrors situation that happened at Azzurri with Archbold. The whole 'we need to have 2 first grade quality keepers' nonsense. But I am sure that the Warriors were up front and told Warren that they were going to sign another first grade keeper as competition.
Congrats to Edgy for their accomplishment, but at the other end of the scale where to from now for the Bears? It's sad to see such a historic club tumbling downhill, two spoons in a row. Only finished with 1 more point than they did last year.
Congrats to the Eagles, massive achievement.
I still think they can be beaten, they don't like to be hassled, but opposition is gonna have to be switched on and for 90+ mins.
Talk in the herald that Edgy are most likely to pick up Jobe, the 6 is probably their weakest position, but Jobe would fix that.
Great achievement for Edgy.
Pretty much beating Magic at their own game, let's me honest, the 3 clubs of Magic, Olympic and Edgy have dominated this league for some time.
I think Zane has to take a lot of credit for the way he has them playing. He made some interesting comments about it being more about the way they play, opposed to their reliance on one player. Which I think is a fair point. Added to that, he has a really strong squad, so he is able to rest his players in a way most other clubs cannot, and the players buy into his philosophy.
Not the biggest fan of the club personally, but I'm happy to give credit where it's due and they seem to be taking it up a notch, up to the other clubs to do the same.
I think they had two players over the age of 21 this year so an older head or two ain't going to hurt them
Watched them the other week v Olympic and for 85% of the Match they were more than holding their own
Just a little composure in box at both ends of the park and they not losing 3-0
I think you be finding they much stronger next season and even stronger the year after
Whos in, not sure how we can do it, but for a bit of fun, lets get a pool together, betting on results of this weekends semi finals, if ANYONE picks the score ( do we go just both forst grade games ) or ( of all fixtures ) they win the pool.
Ill start the ball rolling
1ST - BROADMEADOW MAGIC 2 EDGEWORTH 1
20S - EDGEWORTH 1 HAMILTON 3
18S - ADAMSTOWN 0 - JETS 2
1ST - LAMBTON 1 HAMILTON 1
20S - MAITLAND 1 JETS 3
18S - HAMILTON 2 AZZURRI 2
Scores at the end of 90 minutes only
Lets play and add some fun to the forum instead of sledging and barbs.
1sts Edgy 2 Magic 0
20s Olympic 4 Edgy 0
18s Jets 1 Buds 1
1sts Jaffas 1 Olympic 0
20s Maitland 2 Jets 1
18s Olympic 3 Azzuri 1
Player of the year contenders?
Who's been the best in each team this season?
Mitchell Oxborrow.
Jalon Brown
Saunders
Ferguson
Who's been the best in each team?
Magic - Reece Pettit
Olympic - Kane Goodchild
Jaffas - Jobe Wheelhouse (look how much they struggled without him)
Valentine - Jalon Brown
Weston - Jake Barner or Greg Anderson
Jets Youth - Joseph O'Connor (I bloody rate the bloke)
Lakes - Tom Smart and Ben Kelly (you can't seperate the 2)
Charlestown - Rene Ferguson
Adamstown - Alex Read
Edgeworth - Brody Taylor
Maitland - Matt Comerford
J O'Connor - That's a big call considering he never played first grade.
Checked the NNSWNPL site, updated to 12/8 and there is no O'Conner listed as even playing a game
Now depends on what you are rating ? If it's jets youth player of the year, has to be Pat Langlois, rewarded with some starts in Jets trial games
But if your looking at developing talent than Thurgate and Cox are the ones to watch.
O'Connor is quick yes but football ability ? Not sure
Player of the year, I think Pat Wheeler
He has been solid all year.

Absoulute dribble once again from Pascoe
Why ??
They were the best team in the comp for 12 rounds and then fell in a hole once Jobe went down injured
I watched them play Edgy at Edgy and comfortably towelled them up
Whether they won the Premiership by as many points as he reckons is debatable but those two missing has definitely cost them winning it
18s Buds 1 Jets 0
20s Olympic 0 Edgy 0
1sts 0 - 0 after 20 mins
Edgy 1 nil at halftime.
