Just remembered how shit we have been the last 18 months.
Can we get Scott Miller and Mark Jones to start running the show?
I like this ref.
Very little nonsense.
Gawd he's a shit keeper that Ryan.
Deflected free kick and two pens. Concede a stupid goal with poor organisation. Lets not fool ourselves. This has been a poor campaign.
Aziz is the only true Aussie.

national hero or not, deep down in my heart, Jedinak will always be a Gyppo to me...
How Sainsbury isn't playing in a world class league each week has me baffled.
Got to the game last night, and while it may not have been pretty, had a top night in the active area.
Just need to get tickets now!
After watching the post match press conference last night I’m becomming more and more convinced he’ll coach them at the World Cup and do so with double middle fingers to everyone along the way.
I want him to stand on the sidelines in thongs and boardies, smoking a ciggy.
I want him to put Langerak up front for the final 10 mins of a game, and yell all his instructions in Greek to his confused players who have no idea what he’s saying.
Make it so Ange.
Agree on Sainsbury, bloke is a good defender and looks better on the ball than most of our team and can pick a pass.
Also agree with JM, we hardly looked like scoring until the deflected free kick. First pen was lucky, second pen you can say we deserved as we did create a 1 on 1 which they were not able to legally defend.
Hondurans were up for the game and played decently. How their #6 didn't get a yellow after something like 8 fouls conceded, most of which were on Rogic stopping a promising attacking situation baffles me. We were getting yellows (some deserved) for some soft shit but it seemed like they had open season on our blokes to stop any attack without penalty from the ref. Besides that he had a decent game.
Rogic actually looked talented last night (in contrast to most of his performances I've seen where I'm left wondering why there is even hype on the bloke). Still needs to work on the final pass and shot but he did well carrying the ball forward and creating a yard for himself.
I had to laugh a bit when Simon Hill asked how much of an impact we can make at the World Cup. In 2014 I thought we acquitted ourselves very well in a tough group and probably deserved to make it out. If we come at all close to those levels of performance I'll be both surprised and happy. Prove me wrong Ange
Disagree
It about getting there and the journey you take to get there developing your squad etc
I will take our preparation we have had over the likes our 2010 side had where they qualified in a canter and were not pushed to earn it
When we got there they thought they would just roll on where they left off in Germany 06 but the German NT was a massive step up from the Asian sides we had rolled
I actually think we will do quite well in Russia
This side may be cumbersome and excruciating at taking chances etc but
They are hard to beat and are not riding their luck to scrape in
Just takes us longer to get the dominance reflected on the scoreboard than we would like
I also agree we will go alright.
There are alot of up and coming, smaller nations make it, therefore if we get drawn in such a group we could even progress
On another note can some of our refereeing apologists explain exactly how the 3rd goal the bloke who fouled Kruse
How did he not walk ??
Last man
Goal scoring opportunity
Tackle from behind
Common Assault
Etc
Take your pick but how he only got yellow defies belief
I think when we get better quality opposition we will benefit
Every nation we have faced in qualifying has parked the bus against us and made us have to play through them
Given better quality opposition who also are going to want the ball and dominate the game more they are going to open up a bit more space for us
I think we will be fine and more than competitive in our group and with some luck sneak out into the knock outs
Easy. Rule got changed in the last year or two so that for the denying obvious goal scoring chance (aka last man etc), you no longer award a red card and a penalty for the same offence. So if its outside the box and a free kick, still a red. If its a pen then only yellow. Reasoning is that a red card and a pen for one incident is too heavy a punishment given that the penalty is a high chance of a goal. It can still be a red if the foul would have been a red elsewhere on the pitch, so for excessive force or whatever the proper terms are.
I wondered this during the Syria game actually and you're probably right. We're not really good enough to be Man City or Barcelona and break down anything in front of us. But blokes like Leckie, Rogic, Mooy, Kruse do ok at club level because they're not facing parked buses, they don't play for "big" clubs (maybe Rogic excepted in the Scottish league). Our pace on the wings will become a more valuable asset, so we may actually look better with less ball.
I disagree with your interpretation of the new rule change. The way I understand it:
- Deny an Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunity (they even abbreviate it to: DOGSO) outside of the box = red card and freekick.
- DOGSO inside the box, but making a "genuine attempt" to play the ball = yellow card and penalty.
- DOGSO inside the box, but NOT making a "genuine attempt" to play the ball = red card and penalty.
The only way to explain the Robbie Kruse penalty being awarded a yellow last night is the ref believed the defender made a genuine attempt to play the ball.
Our most potent attacking weapon across the two legs was the left back which tells you all you need to know about how poor we are.
The midfield set up last night was horrible and people falling over themselves to praise the captain for being a 4th fullback against a team spraying long balls then ok.
We don’t have any strikers in the squad who can beat a player one on one, and no one in the front half of the field has any composure in front of goal.
This team will suck in Russia and no doubt it will be the group opponents/injuries/global warming to blame.
The only true team playing football at the moment is the Jets yet you all wanna cheer for Gypos.
Duncan > Ryan
Kanta > Jedinak
Jobe > everyone
Fold the country let the Jets pull on the green and gold.
Thanks for your time.
Cheers,
Plague.
Seen teams move the ball quicker than the Socceroos on live pause FFS.
As for the Kruse foul no red card
Forget the aspects of the last man penalty double whammy send off etc
How was he not sent for a tackle from behind??
How was he not sent for common assault??
As it wasn't exactly anything much short of violence on the pitch rather than genuine attempt at playing the game going wrong

Drew Portugal, England and Egypt for us...
Glad we qualified but we aint troubling anyone in Russia. This system is ****ed. Stack the midfield to create chances for good football, Only create crossing chances, Have no one that can cross. Playing Cahil upfront gives us no movement and leaves Mooy and Rogic with no one to play balls through for.
Leckie at RWB WTF Ange, Bloke is scoring goals and whatnot playing on the wing in germany and you play him as a RB. We saw how this system goes against WC level opposition at the Confeds Cup. Germany and Cameroon shouldve beat us by 5 goals both games and Chile for what ever reason were off their game allowing us to play.
That wont happen at the world cup and teams will steal the ball of us race through un challenged on goal and score past that arms flapping gypo in goal
