It seems if this were to be true it would be a reflection of our financial situation or lack thereof. Obviously Bridges is the poverty pack coach and all we can afford.

Bridges would be more suited to the Emerging Jets Director position if they want to give him a role in the club. For the sake of this club the clowns running it have to get the next Head Coach 100% right. Bridges is a massive gamble, even greater than bringing GVE back for a 2nd time. A player who is suddenly promoted to the coaching role is very rarely successful at coaching his former team-mates in any sport. Anyone think of a coach who has succeeded in this situation? I recall Farina as player-coach of Brisbane Strikers back in 1997 but there have been more misses than hits.
Terry Venables.

How anyone at the Jerks can look at the likes of Aloisi, Muscat, etc and think that fastforwarding a previously untested, even at state league and/or nyl level, player is absurd.
Regardless of if I had a vendetta against the player or not - if the Jerks made ANY player in a position similar to Bridges our head coach I would spit chips. The fact that it's Bridges just makes it even sweeter, or more bitter, or both.
This is an absolute disc race. If Bridges is made head coach, I want to see the PFA sue the club. I would want the FFA to revoke our licence.
I lay this out right here right now: if Michael Bridges is made head coach of the Jets for next season, I become a CCM supporter.
Btw inb4 "you're already one, WLG"
Why gypos though? Why wouldn't u pick someone better? Massive gypo.
Just to back you up Jeterpool, I heard the same thing from someone with
strong (and former) NNSWF connections....about 4 weeks ago.
I was privately gunning for Milicic m'self but Ange got there first. :whistling:
No he ****ing wouldn't
How the ****ing bloke could even be considered to head it up is as absurd as making him first team coach.
Give him a job coaching one of the Emerging Jets sides for a few years and get some form on the board if you want before he should even be considered for any type of coaching role in the NYL/HAL set up
Surely they wouldn't do this! Would they?
Funny if he is appointed and is quite successful... i know its unlikely but f*ck it would be funny!
Mods can we get the thread title changed back to its former state.
The blokes back
Its barely been 4 ****ing weeks and the **** has a job again within the Jets

Member, isn't it technically with NNSWF, as opposed to the Jets? Like how the w-league team is overseen by NNSWF (and that went so well…)
Emerging jets is a jointly funded and organised body with FFA, NNSWF & the club.
I'd say the FFA kicking in some coin is because its the desired model, NNSWF is large enough to test the model but small enough to be able to get it up and running quickly. It was also announced after Tinklers big issues with his license fee wouldn't be surprised if that was a token gesture by the FFA too.
Seems as though Gary has found another job.

The pretentious wankiness of "1-4-3-3" and "1-4-2-2-2" was my favourite bit.
Admittedly, I only read the first few lines and couldn't go any further.
Ditto
Dug out some old programs from the first few seasons of the A League (Full 90) the other day. One was from the 06/07 season when GVE just took over from Nick Theo. He was getting interviewed and one of the questions put to him was if he could sign any player in the HAL, which one would it be....he replied Adrian Leijer ...that you could build a team around him for the future.....enough said!!!
Next is the removal of this bloke from destroying the future
Have some respect.
Cous is GVE's biggest fan, it makes sense they are then one of the same.
Dez Geraldi has some harsh words about GVE and the overall Jets organisation about his 2 day stint with the club many years ago.
Seems to support Stubbins however, so Geraldi out.

How shit must Dez be if he couldn't even make our squad?
On the 29th of December 2009 I turned up to Newcastle Jets training facility after we had agreed to a short term deal, I was to sign for 6 months over the period of the Asian Champions League as the team was short on troops. I recall the original conversation when I was contacted by the club, my concern was that i was not match fit and needed a good 6-8 weeks of work under my belt. This was not an issue as there was some time before the Champions league kicked off.
Classic stuff from Dezy. Even managed a pisstake on Bridges. Reader of the forum for sure!
