Kearynn Baacus still in town?
I'm doubt it
I know what guys like Kruse and Amini have done with limited game time - they seized the moment and stepped up. Virgili shows no confidence and looks like a deer in headlights - he has never looked anything but starstruck.
Decent coach and let's see what happens.
The same genius who screwed Virgilli deemed NTS and Haliti useless too (not to mention Ljubo and the fact he kept playing Bridges).
Give the kid a chance with a new coach before killing him.
Also, with Griff, Hoole, BK, Kanta and Reegz he's a Newy boy so should get unwavering support from the punters.
NTS WAS hopeless without someone next to him telling him what to do, ala Ljubo, Beachump, Spira etc.
Haliti was an impact player who scores once every four or five games off the bench. We could do better. Still love the chest though
Lack of game time isn't the issue.
Watch him play NYL and the bloke carves it up and is way too good for that league. The issue lies between his ears with him believing in himself at HAL level which he clearly doesn't and the idiots Middleby employs to coach him who CAN NOT get the best out of him at HAL level. A massive failing in the past on the part of GVE Deans Zane etc Hopefully Stubbins will not join this list
Unlike some of the punters here I actually believe the bloke has the ability to do it at HAL level
Game time is one thing. It is up to Chilli to actually believe in himself and actually DO IT so the coaches have no reason not to pick him
But wouldn't Zane have been coaching him during most of his NYL games where he was carving up or was that a different coach? Personally, I think it does just come down to the mental and has nothing on the coach, I doubt every coach we've had as consistently told him to run down the line, either stop and try and skill a player just to get beat or do terrible crosses
Gary's got NFI on much anyway.
Still can't believe the club endorsed this bloke as head of the Emerging Jets.
It is refreshing to see the kids now taking short corners al lday and having NFI what they are doing.
What makes it even more bizarre is they push kids into the box like they are gonna whip it in. For what purpose only Gary knows
Well that was on of GVE's biggest flaws. Playing players out of position in a system they didn't suit. Made a few good players look bad.
Finally got Edson Montano's confirmed arrival!
that completes the picture. So now there's no stopping us. and heres a warm welcome for Edson Mo Montano

I knew exactly what Grim was referring, it was the part of Elrich's career in between the Jets and AUFC that is just as relevant. I think you have missed the point anyway, Elrich was a regular starter at the Jets and was never seen as a"shit" player. Just one that was paid a large portion of the salary cap which I doubt very much he is at AUFC.
Barresi gone, torn ACL.

As feared, the Jets can confirm @joshbarresi tore his right ACL in our match vs @juventusfcen and will require a knee reconstruction #NTUA
Of Course they will under the injury replacement farce rule the HAL has.
Biggest issue will be salary cap amount we are currently on.
Obviously the kid wouldn't have been on a great deal of coin and unless we are sitting well under the salary cap cause someone in the club had done that on purpose to save Tinks a few bob and rip off the Newy fans we will be stuck signing a similar cheap signing and not be in the market for a Paartalu or other known player
Isn't there something in the injury replacement rule that means you have to sign a like for like player? So you can't replace your 18yo right back with an international marquee striker or something?
Not that rules mean anything in the HAL... I am sure clubs have gotten around it in the past.
Oh, like we did, signing Ward as IR for Neville.
What's the bet we sign Ward again..
I wonder how many of our historically "shit" players have been good players just not suited to the shit system that GVE was trying to implement?
Elrich probably falls into that but more because the system GVE was trying to build was awful, not because Elrich was completely incapable of playing that general brand of football as shown last year.
