They defend like we do......

The way I'm gonna think about this is alivodic doesn't have the greatest cv before joining us and I rate him so I'll remain optimistic
Background of a player for example:
1997–1998 Cortuluá 45 (22)
1999 Independiente Santa Fe 36 (14)
2000 Cortuluá 21 (10)
2000–2001 Deportivo Cali 21 (3)
2001–2002 Cortuluá 38 (9)
2002 Deportivo Pereira 19 (13)
2003 Independiente Santa Fe 16 (6)
2003 Deportivo Cali 12 (1)
2004 Deportivo Pereira 17 (12)
2004–2005 Deportivo Cali 42 (27)
2005–2006 Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors 22 (9)
He went on to score 7 goals in 21 games for us. While this bloke
1999–2004 FC Utrecht 28 (5)
2002 → FC Volendam (loan) 15 (9)
2002–2003 → Emmen (loan) 31 (30)
2004–2005 RBC Roosendaal 23 (7)
2005–2006 De Graafschap 25 (13)
2006–2007 AEK Larnaca 23 (9)
2007–2009 De Graafschap 36 (8)
Did nothing.
The player's ability to adapt, fit in with the league, build for the league and mentality in how they settle can be a big determination. As well as the quality of the players around them.
More than fair point.
I don't think we'll have one or two star players this season. I think if this squad makes the finals it will be because of a very structured and resolute defence and in the attacking third it will require a collective effort with regards to goals and assists rather than having a dominant 9 and 10 let's say.
Like miller said in his interview with Lucy Zelic about leading 1-0 and closing out games, I predict we'll be trying to settle for quite a few 1-0 wins and I'll be having a heart attack every 2-3 weeks.
In short, I doubt we will dominate many games
His goal scoring ability in China is similar to that of Griffo. I think he will do quite well here.
I wonder if the jets will do the silhouette picture thingy before the big reveal again. Waste of time I suppose since most are aware who it is
Interesting that NBN ran a small segment on it last night before "the miller interview" but nothing in Herald this morning. I thought they sourced news from this site ;) (actually wonder if they cut an agreement not to do something today for a particular reason?)
Hmm must have been held up in release because I checked their website before posting here and nothing. Date stamp I am guess is when he wrote it, but yeah I reckon they keep an eye out here.
Looks like we'll be lining up with a 4-2-3-1 formation then
Birraz
Hoffman Boogard Mullen Lee
Poljak Kanta
Carney Leonardo Enver
Milos
Subs: BK, Cowburn, Watson, Lundy, Haliti
I would prefer to see Hoffman on the right and Leaky G on the left... unless you have Milos in goals and Birraz up front? ;)
Is Cowburn still hanging around? He was good enough season that I am surprised that some clubs with rubbish RB's haven't come offering a full time contract. Maybe coasties did and he spat in their face?
Saw Miller at my work yesterday afternoon and he said he was heading to Sydney until today.. Picking up our signing??
Not sure if that is the case. I think you would find they were trying to groom him for RB or CB from what I have watched and heard even played LB in the intra trial game in Armidale. Have watched for several years and he has been played all over the place with no constant position which makes it a bit hard to develop, very poor coaching decisions for this kid. Has always had a much better passing range, stronger, and more of a football brain then Pawiak, maybe he has just realised the Jets have F****d up his development and moved on to get a fair opportunity else where. Good luck to the kid and hope all goes well.

Hmmm.....reads like Foz sleuth info to me.
Fozzies 1 NH/Dillon 0
Seem to have a habit of ****ing up a young player's development in the Youth team by playing them out of their best position. Happened with Hoole when they experimented with him at RB when previously at Magic he was a #10. Pappas too prior to coming to the Youth team was predominantly a CM and had represented Australia at U/17 level in this position. Lets face it our development of players from the Youth team to the senior team has been piss poor and a big factor in this has been the constant swapping and changing of young players from their natural positions. Yeah....good riddance Pascoe!!!
Dillion once again proving why he is the best sports journalist in Newcastle.
"By Thursday afternoon, Wikipedia already had Trifunovic listed as a Newcastle Jets player."
Looks like Dillon taken over as main reporter of jets stuff. Wonder if Lowe still got a gig, also herald half-time
MJ gooooone appearently
Mark Jones?
Yes, Jones gone
From my limited observation of Jones he's always seemed passionate about the Jets be it helping younger players long after the head coach has clocked off for the day [Hello Branko], or indeed turning up to games to support the club [including NYL and WL games as well].
Others such as Stubbins, Branko, and GVE have more or less been about what the club can do for them rather than what they can do for the club.
Good times!
Remember when we would start the season having played 10 pre-season games with 14 different combinations of players?
Looks like Miller is pretty well set.
Biraz
The Hoff- Mullen - Boogaard - Leaky G
Kanta - Poljak
Alivodic - Leonardo - Carney
Haliti
That's 10 of the 11 that started against Brisbane, only Leonardo coming in. BK clearly second choice based on pre-season. Watson, Cooper, Jackson, Lundy and Pavicevic on the bench as well.
Good start....
Quote:
4’ | Labinot Haliti has pulled up lame after being fouled on half way. Jets free kick
7' | 0-0 | Scott Miller is forced into an early substitution with @LabiHaliti forced from the field following a foul on him by Eddy Bosnar.
7' | 0-0 | Radovan Pavicevic is the man into the game for @LabiHaliti. #TogetherWeCanSoar
9' | 0-0 | Lee Ki-je's strike from the edge of the area is saved by Paul Izzo. #TogetherWeCanSoar
Ah...luv the Hoff x
Good Newy boy, hates coasties. Well in Hoff.
Robert Dillon is soon going to report that Milos Trifunovic has signed for the Westlakes Wildcats

I wonder what's happening with Brennan.
Is he still injured? I know for the Perth game a month ago he was ineligible. In late July he got a quad strain in Tamworth. He's not getting minutes in any trial matches. Not in travelling parties. Hmmmm. Mustn't be impressing.
The same question can be asked for Baressi. He was at Kotara's presentation day yesterday.
